Chapter 93

Book:Blind Date With Mr Arrogant Published:2025-3-31

SHAWN’S POV
He felt his heart soften as he watched her rest on the bed frame with her eyes closed. He had never seen her broken and vulnerable like she was when she cried on his shoulder in the car.
Her loud sobs broke his heart and dissipated whatever anger or hatred he had for her. At that moment, all he wanted to do was console her and be there for her.
“Umm…your dad is asleep now. We should let him sleep. Let’s go home and come back tomorrow.” Shawn said as he noticed Tiffany was falling asleep.
“I don’t want to go home.” She replied, her eyes still closed.
Shawn’s brows creased in Surprise at her response. “You are not being serious, are you?” He asked.
“I am. I want to spend the night here with my Dad, in the hospital.” She replied, finally opening her eyes to stare at him.
“That will not be feasible. There is no extra bed to sleep on, and you have to go to school tomorrow.” Shawn said.
“I know. A day away from school won’t hurt. This is my dad and I want to be with him.” She replied, adamantly.
“It’s fine. I will have to stay with you because I can’t leave you by yourself.” Shawn said and sighed in resignation.
“No, no, please. You are going to work tomorrow. Please, go home.” Tiffany said as she raised her head from the bed frame.
“Don’t worry. We will leave early in the morning so we can both prepare for work and school respectively.” Shawn said.
Tiffany stared at him momentarily, “Are You sure about this?” she asked.
“Yes, I am. Now get some rest. You don’t want to sleep in school tomorrow, do you?”
“Of course not. Where will you sleep if I share the bed with my Dad?”
“The couch. Don’t worry, it feels cozy and comfortable.” Shawn said as he unbuttoned the first three buttons of his shirt.
Tiffany nodded and got on the bed with her dad. The bed was spacious enough to contain two people.
Shawn laid on the couch even though with his size and height, it was not enough for him, but managed. His eyes trailed to Tiffany’s sleeping face and he chuckled when he remembered her crying face.
“Shawn?” She suddenly called, her eyes going open.
“Yes, I’m still here.” He replied.
“I know. Thank you so much.” She said and her eyes went shut again.
“You are welcome.” He replied.
Before drifting off to sleep, he set his alarm for 5:30 a. m in the morning. Afterward, he kept his phone away and fell asleep.
At exactly 5:30 am he was jerked awake by the sound of the alarm. He turned it off and his eyes went to Tiffany’s sleeping form. She looked so peaceful and he hated to wake her up, but he had to.
He stood up, stretched himself and walked to her on the bed.
“Hey. Hey, wake up. We have to go.” He said and tapped her lightly on the shoulder.
Thank goodness she was not a heavy sleeper because she jerked awake almost immediately.
“Good morning. Is it time already?” She asked and looked up at the clock on the wall.
“Yes, it is. We have to leave now.” Shawn replied.
She nodded and got out of the bed. She stared at her father, and Shawn could tell that she was reluctant. She sighed lightly and then leaned forward to peck his cheeks. She looked around and found a jotter and pen on the table, quickly scribbling some words down before placing it beside her father on the bed.
“Let’s go,” She said afterward.
Shawn nodded, and together they walked out of the room, careful not to wake Mr Dion up.
TIFFANY’S POV
“Thank you so much. I don’t know how to show my gratitude, but I will keep saying thank you.” Tiffany said to Shawn as they drove home.
He looked away from the road to spare her a glance before returning his gaze back. “I have lost count of how many times you have said those words to me. You are welcome once again.” He said playfully.
“Thank you, regardless.” Tiffany said and returned her gaze to the road.
Soon, they got home and Shawn parked the car before they alighted.
“It’s almost 7:00 am already. Be quick with your preparation else you will be late for school.” Shawn said as they walked inside.
“Noted. You should do the same, otherwise you will be late for work.” Tiffany said and walked upstairs.
She hurriedly took out her school uniform and everything she will be needing. Striping off her clothes, she walked into the bathroom to have a bath.
A few minutes later, she was done and spent the next few minutes dressing up. Afterward she grabbed her school bag and hurried downstairs.
“Hey. I made you a bowl of cereal. You can’t go to school on an empty stomach.” Shawn said as she got downstairs.
“Thank you so much.” Tiffany replied and took her seat before digging into the cereal.
“How come you are ready before me?” She asked, after eating for a while.
“Unlike you women, men don’t waste time twirling in front of the mirror.” Shawn said.
“You think so? So you think men spend less time getting dressed up compared to ladies?” Tiffany asked, amused.
“Do I need to answer that? We are both testament to that fact. I got prepared before you, despite the fact that you went up to your room before me.” Shawn said.
“Okay, okay I rest my case.” Tiffany said, trying hard not to laugh.
“I won.” Shawn said dramatically and Tiffany finally burst into laughter.
They spent the remaining minutes at the dinning, laughing and cracking jokes. It felt surreal to Tiffany that Shawn could laugh that way or even have a sense of humor like he displayed.
“Okay. Time to leave. How about I drop you off at school and then come pick you up so we can go to the hospital together?” Shawn suddenly asked and Tiffany turned to look at him in Surprise.
Did he hit his head somewhere or something?
“You are not being serious, are you?” She asked, surprise evident in her voice.
“Well I’m not. Come on, you will be late for school.” Shawn said and walked out without waiting for her response.
She grabbed her bag from the chair and hurried after him.
“We are using the Lamborghini, today?” Tiffany asked as Shawn drove out of the garage in the Lamborghini.
“Yes. Now get in, we are running late.” Shawn said impatiently.
Tiffany hurriedly got in, and he drove out, headed for her school.
“Umm… you drop me at the school’s gate,” Tiffany said as they approached her school.
“I’m taking you inside. Don’t argue, please.” Shawn said with a note of finality.
Tiffany nodded and did not utter a word again. They soon got to school and Shawn drove inside, parking the car before he walked out and opened the car door for her. Tiffany was shocked at his gesture, he even stretched out his hand to help her get down.
She took his hand and got down and that was when she saw the crowd of students gathered taking pictures and screaming “Awww.”
“Have a nice day at school.” Shawn whispered into her ear before getting back into the car.
Tiffany stared at the car as it drove out of the school compound. What just happened?
“Heyyyyyy!” She heard Freya’s voice as she threw her weight at her, hugging her from behind.
“Jeez, Freya? Is it just me or you are putting on a lot of weight?” Tiffany asked and spurned around.
“Well, Timothy thinks the same. So no, it’s not just you.” Freya said and flipped her hair.
“Hey, Tim.” Tiffany said to Timothy ss he joined them.
“Your Fiance brought you to school today, huh?” He said teasingly as they hugged.
“Yeah. What can I say? Let’s go to class, guys.” Tiffany said and slung her arms on both of their shoulders as they walked to class ignoring the looks of other students.
