TIFFANY’S POV
She was watching a reality show in the sitting room when Shawn walked in. And he was not alone! He was with a very beautiful lady with ginger hair.
“You are back.” She said casually.
“Obviously, I am.” Shawn replied rudely.
“Who is she?” The lady asked, giving Tiffany a scornful look.
“Ignore her. She is nobody.” Shawn replied.
“What do you mean by I’m nobody?” Tiffany asked, looking angry.
“Can we go upstairs?” Shawn asked the lady ignoring her.
“Of course, yes.” The lady replied and took his hand.
“Where, if I may ask?” Tiffany asked, as she got up.
“Up to my room. Do you have a problem with that?” Shawn asked, staring her straight in the eyes.
“Have you no shame? Bringing a whore to the house, is that all you have got?” Tiffany asked.
“Watch your tongue, little girl! You are obviously the whore, being in a place you’re not needed.” The lady chipped in.
“I was not referring to you, Slut! You are obviously the whore, following a soontobe married man to his home. I thought “call girls” get laid in the motel.” Tiffany retorted.
The lady was obviously hurt by Tiffany’s and she tried to hit her, but was stopped by Shawn.
“Don’t let her ruin the night for us. Let’s go upstairs to my room and forget some bittered little girl.” Shawn said and pulled the lady away.
“Yeah, right?” The lady said, and pecked Shawn’s cheek before dragging him towards the stairs.
“Go fuck yourselves!” Tiffany yelled after them.
She slumped on the chair as they disappeared out of sight. The guts of him to bring his whore to the house. Does he have no respect or dignity? He accused her of cheating of which she was not guilty of, but there he was, bringing a lady to the house. She could be a serial killer for all he knows.
Speaking of serial killers, Tiffany’s eyes widened. What if the lady decides to kill her at night? Fear immediately gripped her and she turned off the television before hurrying upstairs to her room.
She locked her room door and hid the key in her drawer. Then she brought out two of her shoes with pointy heels and kept them on her bedside table. If the lady attempted anything stupid at night while she was asleep, her heels were the perfect weapons.
She laid on the bed, wore her mask and turned off the bedside lamp.
Lights out, Tiff!
No, lights on, Tiff.
She quickly took off her mask and turned on the bedside lamp. She tiptoed to the wall that demarcated her room and Shawn’s and placed her ear on it.
She should be hearing some funny sounds if they were doing something, right? But why was everywhere calm?
Were they talking first before getting down to the main business? All these thoughts and more ran through her mind as she stood helplessly by the wall.
Tired and feeling stupid for trying to eavesdrop, she walked back to her bed and laid down. A few minutes later, she got up and walked to the drawer and took out the key to the door. She quietly opened the door and tiptoed to Shawn’s door.
She rested her ear on the door and tried to listen for sounds but none was forthcoming. As she made to leave, the door suddenly went open and she yelled in pain as the door connected with her forehead.
SHAWN’S POV
He got inside his bedroom with Edna and it felt so strange and surreal. He was still wondering if he was doing the right thing. Aside from trying to spite Tiffany, was sleeping with a total stranger the best thing to do?
“Oh my God! Just like I fantasized, your room is a different world on its own.” Edna said and slumped on the bed with her shoes on.
Shawn sighed in frustration. He just met her, but he could tell she was lousy, sassy, and lacked the basic courtesy a decent lady should have. She was all about luxury and fame.
“Kindly take off your shoes. That’s a bed, in case you have forgotten.” Shawn said, trying to sound as polite as possible.
“Of course, of course…” She kept murmuring as she got off the bed and began to take her shoes off.
Shawn stared at her for a while, before proceeding to take off his suit jacket.
“Do you have any food?” She suddenly asked, and looked up at him.
“Food? Ummm…I don’t think there is cooked food but you can make yourself something in the kitchen.” Shawn said.
“Make myself something? Seriously? I think you should ask that maid of yours to fix us something.” Edna said and rolled her eyes.
“And by maid, do you mean Tiffany?” Shawn asked, taken aback.
“I don’t know her name. I mean the girl we met in the sitting room.” Edna replied.
“Tiffany is not a maid, actually she is my…, you know what? Forget about it. I will fix us something.” Shawn said.
“That sounds nice. Can I come watch your sexy self cook?” Edna asked and bit her lips seductively.
“No, no, no, you stay back and I will do the cooking. Just stay back, okay?” Shawn said and made for the door.
“Anything you say, handsome.” She replied and laid back on the bed.
Shawn sighed and pulled the door open, and to his greatest surprise, Tiffany was behind the door.
“Ouch!” She whimpered, as the door hit her forehead.
“What the hell?” Shawn exclaimed as he hurriedly shut the door behind them.
“What were you thinking about, eavesdropping on us?” He asked angrily.
“I was not. I wanted to go downstairs and get water.” She retorted, giving him an angry look while she massaged her forehead.
“Wow! I didn’t realize the fridge is now situated at my bedroom door.” Shawn said, not convinced by her lie.
“Believe whatever you want to.” She yelled before walking back to her room.
“Aren’t you thirsty anymore?” He called after her.
“Leave me alone!” She yelled before slamming the door shut.
Shawn exhaled sharply before continuing on his way downstairs. He got into the kitchen and decided to make toasted bread, bacon and tea.
He was going to kill Bryan the next time they met. He put him in the messy situation he was in.
A few minutes later, he headed upstairs with a tray containing the food.
“You are done already?” Edna asked as he got into the room.
“Yes, I am. You can come and eat.” Shawn said as he placed the tray on the table at the end of the room. That part of the room was like a mini living room.
“Seriously? Can’t you serve me in bed?” Edna asked, making puppy eyes.
“No, I can’t. I don’t eat in my bed. You either come over here and eat or starve.” Shawn replied, trying not to lose his cool.
“Ouch! That was mean. But you know what? I love mean guys.” She said and got off the bed.
“What have I gotten myself into?” Shawn muttered in a low tone as she walked towards him.
