SHAWN’S POV
“Thank you for your time, Mr Ray. I promise you, you will not regret doing business with us. If you did your findings well, you must have realized that we are the best at what we do.” Shawn said over the phone.
“I know. Thank you for having such an impeccable reputation. We would see each other at the board meeting. Bye for now.” The voice over the phone said and ended the call.
“Finally.” Shawn said and exhaled sharply.
He just closed a deal he had been on for months. It felt good to see it finish.
“Hey, Shawn.” Rachel said and walked in.
“Good morning, Rachel.” He replied, bracing himself for her drama.
“How was your night?” She asked, sitting down.
“Can you go straight to the point? The picture, that’s why you are here, right?” Shawn said.
“Oh well, you know. Why did you delete them?” Rachel asked.
“Because they had no place in your phone. Are you being serious, Rachel? Why do you want pictures of my fiance on your phone?” Shawn asked, surprised.
” I don’t know, but those pictures made you see her for who she truly is.” Rachel said.
“Well, thank you for your help. They served their purpose. Can you now please stop worrying about the pictures?” Shawn asked.
“Sure. It’s not like they are important to me.” Rachel said, shrugging.
“Exactly my thoughts. So let it go.” Shawn said and returned his gaze to his work.
“I have to return to my office now. Are you joining me for lunch?” Rachel asked and stood up.
“I don’t know yet. We will see. Bye.” Shawn said.
“Bye.” She muttered and Walked out.
Shawn looked up from the paperwork he was pretending to work on and picked up his phone. He went to his gallery and stared at the pictures.
His emotions were stirred as he angrily stared at the way the strange man had Tiffany pinned to the wall. No shame or decorum.
She had to make out with a stranger and off all places in the corridor of public bar restrooms.
Women were indeed complex creatures. They were most times bad at making choices, He concluded to himself before getting back to work.
Soon, it was time for lunch, but he asked Leslie to buy him takeout. He was in no mood to go out for lunch.
After lunch, he got buried in his work until it was closing time. He grabbed his jacket and briefcase before heading out of his office. He got into the elevator and after a few minutes, he was let out into the reception area.
He hurried to his car as he was not ready for Rachel’s clinginess. While driving he was tempted to stop by a local bar and have a drink but he thought against it. He finally got home and parked the car before walking inside.
“Good evening.” Tiffany greeted as he got Inside.
He gave her a court nod before walking upstairs.
“You know, giving me the cold shoulders won’t solve anything.” She called after him but he ignored her and walked to his room.
He would make her living in his house a hell. And she would be forced to leave on her own accord.
He stripped off his clothes and changed into his swimsuit. He was craving a dip in the pull and he needed to satisfy that craving.
After slinging a towel over his shoulder, he headed downstairs. She was no longer in the sitting room when he got there.
Why does he care anyway? She can as well go missing for all he cared for. He got to the swimming pool and with one dive, he landed inside of it making a loud splashing sound.
TIFFANY’S POV
“His name is Oscar. He is at the school clinic….” Freya said and everyone turned to look at her.
“Who can lead us to the school clinic?” Detective Copler asked.
“There would be no need because I’m here now.” Oscar said from the hall’s entrance.
“Are you Oscar?” Detective Copler asked.
“Yes, I am.” Oscar replied and walked fully into the hall.
Detective Copler signalled to one of his men and he walked to Oscar. He carefully looked at Oscar’s hair after which he turned to his boss and shook his head.
“We are done for today. Remember, if you remember or see anything that would be of help to our ongoing investigation, kindly reach out to your principal. Thank you for your time and cooperation.” Detective Copler said, before walking out with his men.
“What did you do that for?” Tiffany asked Freya as they returned to class.
“Do what?” Frey asked, giving her a blank look.
“Mentioning Oscar’s name like he was a criminal.” Tiffany said.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. Did you hear the detective’s question? He asked if there was a student or students that were in school but not present in the hall. I did my part. I don’t know what you are fussing about.” Freya said.
“I’m sorry. You are right.” Tiffany said.
“Are you sure you are okay? The way you get so defensive about that boy needs to be studied.” Freya said.
“I’m fine.” Tiffany said and they walked into their class.
Soon, school was dismissed for the day and they all walked to the parking lot together.
“Today was hectic. Statistics lesson today was a bit tough.” Tiffany said.
“I know, right?” Freya said, yawning.
“I totally can’t relate. You both chose the science discipline. Carry your cross.” Timothy said.
“Fish brain. Your brain obviously can not carry science subjects.” Freya said and sneered at him.
“It’s okay, guys. Please, don’t argue.” Tiffany said.
“I’m tired. Let’s talk later. Bye, guys.” Timothy said and waved goodbye.
Tiffany waved her goodbye before getting into her car and driving off.
She got home and freshened up, after which she went downstairs to eat lunch. After she was done, she sat in the sitting room to watch a few music videos.
She was at it when Shawn got back.
“Good evening.” She greeted as he got Inside.
He gave her a curt nod before walking upstairs.
“You know, giving me the cold shoulders won’t solve anything.” She called after him but he ignored her and walked to his room.
“Arrogant jerk!” She cussed and returned her attention to the television.
A few minutes later, he came downstairs in his swimsuit. Well, look who was going to swim.
“Are you going to the pool?” She asked before she could stop herself.
“Isn’t it obvious?” He asked, giving her an angry stare.
“I was just asking.” Tiffany said and shrugged.
“Can you just keep to yourself henceforth? Act like you don’t know me and I would do the same.” He asked.
Tiffany made to protest but thought against it. ” If that’s what you want…I can do it.” She replied with a hardened face.
“That’s better. And oh, you can whore around. I don’t care.” Shawn said and walked away.
“Wow! Just wow!” Tiffany muttered as she watched him walk out of the house.
If he wanted enmity, then she was ready to give it to him, and give it to him in any way he wanted it.
