SHAWN’S POV
He was still wondering why Rachel was not yet back from the restroom when she suddenly joined him.
“What took you so long?” He asked, as she sat down.
“I told you my stomach was upsetting me. That’s by the way. Guess who and what I saw?” She replied in a hushed tone.
“I can’t guess. Tell me.” He said, uninterested. He was obviously not in the mood of her jokes.
“Guess…. just guess.” She persisted.
“I can’t, Rachel. It’s either you tell me or you leave it.” He said.
“Fine. I saw your cheating fiance.” Rachel said and he immediately turned to look at her.
“What did you just say? You saw Tiffany?” He asked.
“Is that not your fiance’s name? I saw her.” Rachel replied.
“Where? Here in this bar?” He asked again, just to be sure he heard her the first time.
“Yes. Here in this bar. And this proof.” Rachel said and handed him her phone.
His eyes bulged out of their sockets when he saw Tiffany pinned to the wall in a romantic manner by a man he couldn’t see his face.
“How did you get this picture?” He asked, pushing her phone towards her on the table.
“When I went back to the restroom, I saw her making out with a man in front of the men’s restroom and I decided to take pictures because it would be my word against hers if I don’t have proof. She is a cheap whore that doesn’t hesitate to go down with anyone in trousers.” Rachel said, and picked up her phone.
“What could she be doing here?” He asked no one in particular and started looking around the bar, in search of Tiffany.
Suddenly, his eyes widened as he sawTiffany leaving the bar with her friends. She was truly there in the bar! Rachel was making things up with the picture because the clothes she was wearing were the same as the ones in the picture.
“Fucking bitch!” He cussed as he gripped the napkins on the table.
“Calm down, Shawn.” Rachel said, attempting to touch him.
“Dont! Send those pics to me now!” Shawn ordered his eyes blazing hot.
“Okay, okay, fine.” Rachel said.
He got a beep on his phone and saw that she had sent the pictures to him through WhatsApp.
“Can I have your phone, please?” He asked.
“Sure.” Rachel said and passed it to him.
He went straight to her gallery and deleted the pictures after which he went to her trash and deleted them too.
“Here, have it back. Thank you.” He said and handed her the phone.
“I hope you can see for yourself that she is not worth your attention and time. She is not even supposed to be under your roof. You deserve better, Shawn. Much better.” Rachel said, reaching for his hands on the table.
“I know, right?” He replied, absentmindedly.
Was that why she was not bothered when he told her about cancelling their date in the bar? She had a plan B and she was obviously not expecting him to be at the bar because he never mentioned it to her.
She was wayward and never hesitates to use the slightest opportunity she got to show it. He would show her hell henceforth and put her in her place. He could not afford to let anything jeopardize his reputation simply because he got into a marriage of convenience with some wayward and overpampered teenage girl.
“We have to go.” He suddenly said to Rachel.
“Why? Let’s stay for an hour more.” Rachel whined.
“Feel free to stay. But I’m leaving here now.” Shawn said, and stood up.
“Fine. You don’t always have to be a party pooper, you know that, right?” Rachel said as they walked out of the bar.
“I will see you on Monday at work. Drive safely and don’t get yourself killed.” Shawn said and walked to his car.
“Tomorrow Is Sunday. Do you have any plans?” Rachel called out
Shawn ignored her and got into his car. He couldn’t wait to get home and confront Tiffany. He wanted to see the look on her face when he showed her the picture and let it be known to her that he knew how much of a cheat she was.
He finally got home, parked the car and hurried inside. He met her eating in the dinning room..
“Where did you go?” He asked, harshly.
“Why are you asking me that? And why do you look so furious?” She asked, surprise evident in her voice and on her face.
“Answer the damn question!” Shawn yelled, startling her.
She went quiet for a second before replying, ” I went out with my friends.”
“I never asked who you went out with. I asked, “Where did you go?” Shawn said.
“What is this all about? You suddenly barge into the house and start bombarding me with questions. Are you my father?” Tiffany yelled, angrily.
“I’m not. And I don’t want to be a father to a slut!” Shawn yelled back.
“Are you indirectly Calling me a slut?”
“I don’t know, but you tell me. Are you that cheap that you make out with a man in the corridor of a restroom? Have you no shame and dignity as a lady?” Shawn asked.
He watched her face turn white in horror and realization. “What…what are you talking about?” She stuttered.
“You know what I’m talking about because your face says it all.” Shawn said.
“I don’t know.” Tiffany replied.
“Here. Maybe this picture will help you remember.” Shawn said and shoved his phone in her hands.
Her face turned white the more when she looked at the picture. “This is not what you think it is, please.” She said and handed him his Phone.
“What else should I think when the picture is saying it all? You are so cheap despite how classic you try to act.” Shawn said.
“I am not cheap! Don’t call me cheap! There is an explanation for the picture, if only you would let me explain.” Tiffany said.
“Feed me with lies, you mean? Because that’s all you do best.” Shawn yelled.
“You know what? I won’t sit here and watch you insult and demean me.” She said and stood up with her plate.
“A whore, a cheap whore, that is what you are. I can’t believe people can’t see that part of you.” Shawn called after her.
She ignored him as she came out of the kitchen, and cast him a glance before walking upstairs.
“Bitch!” He cussed and slumped on the couch.
He was still on the couch reminiscing on the events of the day when his phone rang and realized it was Rachel.
“What the fuck, Shawn? Why did you delete the pictures?” She asked, sounding angry over the phone.
“They had no place in your phone.” Shawn replied.
“You had no right to delete them from my phone! Have you no courtesy, Shawn?”
“Good night, Rachel.” He said, and ended the call.
