SHAWN’S POV
“I promised to take you to the newly opened karaoke bar, but I have somewhere else to go so we won’t be going there today.” Shawn said to Tiffany as they had breakfast the next morning.
“Okay.” She replied, looking unbothered.
“Okay? Do you have a backup plan?” He asked, surprised.
“Maybe, I do. You don’t expect me to feel bad because you cancelled on me, do you?” She asked, raising her brows at him.
“Of course not. Do you.” Shawn replied and shrugged his shoulders.
“Today is Saturday, I thought you don’t go to work on Saturdays?” She asked
“Well, I do. Sometimes, and today is one of those days.”
She shrugged and continued with her meal. They ate in silence, and after eating he took his plates to the kitchen before heading to work.
He got to work and just as he was settling down, Rachel walked in.
“Shawn, I’m so excited today. We are still going to the bar, right?” She asked as soon as she walked into his office.
“Good morning to you, Rachel.” He said sarcastically.
“Oh, pardon me. Good morning, Shawn. I’m just excited about today.” Rachel said.
“It’s fine. And yes, we are still going. I don’t have much work to do today.” Shawn replied.
“Me neither.” Rachel replied, unable to hide her excitement.
“You should return to your office. We will see after work.” Shawn said in a dismissing tone.
“Sure. See you later.” Rachel said and walked out.
Lunch time came and they went for lunch together. There were few staff in the company except for those that had extra work to do.
He returned to work after the lunch break and spent the remaining working hours working.
He was so immersed in work he didn’t realize it was past closing time until Rachel walked in.
“Hey! Are you still working?” She asked, surprised.
Shawn looked at his wrist watch and realized it was past 6pm in the evening. Shit! He must have been caught up with work he didn’t realize it was past closing time.
“We are leaving now. I was just replying to a few emails.” He said and got up.
He took his suit jacket from where he hung it and carried his briefcase. “Let’s go.” He said and they both headed out.
By the time they got to the bar it was past 7pm. They found an empty table and sat on the chairs around it.
“I’m so happy to be here.” Rachel said dramatically.
“It’s obvious. You are not hiding it.” Shawn said.
“I know, right?” Let me get us drinks.” Rachel said and walked towards the bar.
Shawn fixed his attention on the singer on the podium. He didn’t know the song she was singing so he just hummed and nodded his head along to the beat.
“Here you go. I got us Tequila.” Rachel said and placed the drinks on the table.
“Thank you.” Shawn said and took his drink before returning his attention to the singer.
“Do you know the song?” Rachel asked.
“No.” Shawn replied.
“The title is “Bailamos” by Enrique Iglesias. It was sung in spanish.” Rachel explained.
“Oh. No wonder I can’t hear a thing. But I like the song anyway.” Shawn replied.
They didn’t say a word to each other again as they vibed to the song.
TIFFANY’S POV
She was bored after Shawn left and decided to chat her friends up and ask if they were still going to the karaoke bar since Shawn had cancelled on her.
@Lady Tiff
“Hey, guys. Are we still going to the bar today?”
@ Queen Freya
“Of course, yes. You are still coming, right?”
@Lady Tiff
“Yes, I am.
@Lord Timothy III
“Hello, ladies. What did I miss?”
@ Queen Freya
“You missed nothing. You are still coming to the bar, right?”
@ Lord Timothy III
“Of course! It’s Saturday and we have to paint the city red.”
@Lady Tiff
“What time are we leaving, please?”
@Queen Freya
” I don’t know. It was Timothy’s idea, so he should let us know.”
@ Lord Timothy III
“Karaoke bars open by 6pm, but they start fully by 7 pm. We will be there by 6pm so we can get seats that would give us a panoramic view of the singers.”
@Lady Tiff.
“Okay, then. See you guys at 6pm.”
Tiffany went offline after dropping the message and decided to engage in some activities until it was time.
She read her books, saw movies, went to swim in the pool and chatted with her friends a few times.
While she did all of that, she kept praying for time to run by fast. As just like she prayed for, it was soon 6pm.
She prepared and decided to chat with her friends and ask how prepared they were.
@Lady Tiff
“Who is ready, because I am.”
(She sent and accompanied the message with a dancing emoji.)
@Queen Freya
“I haven’t even had my bath!”
@Lady Tiff
“Are you kidding me?!”
(Tiffany asked and added a surprised emoji.)
@Lord Timothy III
“Hey, Tiff. I’m done. Let’s go without her, what do you think?”
@ Lady Tiff
“I think we should.”
@Queen Freya
“Are you guys Kidding me? Timothy, today is the first time since forever you are ever ready for any outing on time. So, you shouldn’t be talking!”
@Lady Tiff
“Can you fucking drop your phone and go take your bath?!”
@ Queen Freya
“Actually, I was kidding, guys. I’m ready and all dolled up. Let’s meet at our usual spot. Bye!”
@Lady Tiff
“Fucking liar!”
Tiffany hurriedly grabbed her purse, took out her credit card from the drawer and then hurried downstairs.
RACHEL’S POV
They were done with their drinks and she walked to the bar to get another one when her eyes caught sight of someone.
“It can’t be!” She said and ducked, to look at the person properly.
It was her. Tiffany Dion! She was seated at a corner with two other teenagers Rachel presumed to be her friends.
What the hell was the little girl doing there in the bar? How did she get to know about the place? Rachel stood at where she hid and watched her laugh in such a carefree manner with her friends.
Tiffany Dion was all shades of elegance even without trying to force anything. The fluidity and manner she carried herself was so effortless and natural. Rachel hated her the most because despite how she tried to look and act elegant, hers was no match for Tiffany Dion. The little girl was a natural.
Rachel was at a loss on what to do. Shawn shouldn’t see his little fiance, and she was worried about how possible that could be. The little girl might steal Shawn’s attention from her and she didn’t want that.
She stealthily walked to the bars and got the drink for herself and Shawn. Luckily, Shelly was not at the counter and she was more than grateful because she was not in the mood to face her.
“I got us another drink.” She said, and dropped the drinks on the table.
“Thank you.” Shawn replied and took the drink before returning his attention to the singer.
Rachel rolled her eyes at him. He paid her little or no attention since they got there. All he did was sip his drink and give his full attention to whatever singer that climbed the podium.
She looked around and saw how most lovers were acting all loveydovey with their partners and it hurt her that Shawn can’t be that way with her.
She was still looking around when she noticed Tiffany stand up and head for the direction of the restroom.
“I will be right back. I have to use the restroom.” She said to Shawn, and without waiting for his response, she walked away.
