FREYA’S POV
Freya sighed as she stared at the trays of food in her hands. She was at a loss whether she should take the food to the class.
“Seriously? They both had to leave her here like this?” She thought.
Huffing, she set the trays on the table, no longer having an appetite, and made her way out of the cafeteria with her bag and Tiffany’s bag.
Trudging along the hallway that would lead her to class, she suddenly came face to face with Mary.
This girl better not get on my nerves. She muttered as she tried to pass by Mary and her minions.
“Not so fast, Fred,” Mary said, blocking her path.
“It’s Freya, not Fred. I never knew you had a problem with pronunciation.” Freya retorted, clenching her fists.
“Oh, but Freya used to be Fred. I just find calling you Fred more befitting.” Mary snarled as she looked Freya up and down.
“What do you want, bitch?” Freya’s patience was wearing out.
“Language, Fred… I mean, Freya. I just want to know more about this rumor of Tiffany dating Shawn Gold.” Mary said, her voice filled with fake sweetness.
“You’ve always been a gossip monger, but I never thought you’d stoop so low to get cheap gossip from me, of all people!” With those words, Freya forcefully pushed past Mary.
“Be careful, Fred!” Mary called after her.
“No, you should be careful, Miss Gossip Monger!” Freya yelled back before disappearing.
“What a pathetic human being. It’s annoying how they all protect Tiffany. Very annoying.” With that, Mary stormed off with her minions trailing behind her.
Meanwhile, Tiffany caught up with Timothy just as he was about to enter his next class. She gently grabbed his arm, causing him to turn around.
“Timothy, what’s wrong?” she asked in a soft, concerned tone.
He sighed and looked down at the ground, tracing patterns with his shoe. “It’s nothing, Tiff. I’m just feeling a bit off today, that’s all.”
Tiffany didn’t believe him for a second. She knew something was bothering Timothy. She reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder, turning him to face her.
“Timothy, you can talk to me, you know? Whatever it is, I want to listen,” she said sincerely, her voice filled with compassion.
He hesitated for a moment before sighing. “Well, I wish you would do the same.”
Tiffany’s eyes widened in surprise. She had no idea what Timothy was talking about. “What do you mean?”
“You want me to open up to you, but you haven’t been doing much of that yourself lately.” He finally held her gaze.
Tiffany let her hand on his shoulder drop.
“I see. Look, Timothy, if this is about me not telling you guys about seeing Shawn Gold, then I’m sorry. But trust me, there’s a reason I haven’t been completely open about it. It’s difficult for me, too. I promise I’ll never keep things from you and Freya, but I need to handle this in my way. I just need your understanding and support, okay?”
Timothy’s eyes softened. “Promise me you’ll be okay, and that you’ll eventually tell us everything.”
Tiffany smiled, so much for having a caring best friend. “I promise. At the right time.”
“Pinky promise?” He asked, extending his pinky finger.
“Pinky promise!” Tiffany replied, and they locked their pinky fingers before bursting into laughter.
“Now, go to class. I’ll see you at the end of the day,” Tiffany said, nudging him towards the door.
“Okay. You better go too. Freya won’t be happy being all by herself,” he said and entered the classroom.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Tiffany turned and headed towards her class.
Freya arrived in class and took a seat, placing Tiffany’s bag on the seat next to her.
Those two owe me an apology, she thought, exhaling loudly.
A few minutes into class, Tiffany still hadn’t shown up.
Freya kept her eyes fixed on the door, waiting for Tiffany to arrive. Just as she was about to look away for the umpteenth time, Tiffany walked in.
“Hey,” Tiffany called out as she slumped into her seat.
“What the hell, Tiff?” Freya said, giving her an angry look.
“I get it. You’re mad at me, but I couldn’t just leave Timothy in that state,” Tiffany said, taking out her writing materials.
“So you both just had to leave me like that?” Freya persisted.
“You know what? I’m cleaning up your mess. You made Timothy angry,” Tiffany retorted.
“There she goes…” The teacher’s voice interrupted them. “Miss Dion and Miss Meyer, please stop talking.” She said sternly.
All eyes turned to them, and they looked away in embarrassment.
They had their final class of the day, and Freya and Tiffany made their way out of the class.
They headed towards the parking lot where Tiffany’s car was parked, waiting for Timothy.
They didn’t have to wait long because Timothy was already on his way to meet them.
“Hi, Tim. I apologize for being a jerk earlier,” Freya began as soon as Timothy was within earshot.
“Oh well, now you admit that you’re a jerk,” Timothy said nonchalantly.
“Seriously, dude? I take back my apology,” Freya retorted, giving Timothy an annoyed look.
“How convenient. That doesn’t pass for an apology, but I’ll take it,” Timothy playfully pinched her cheeks.
“Silly you. But seriously, I’m sorry,” Freya said, slinging an arm around Timothy’s shoulder.
“You guys can go somewhere else and continue your drama,” Tiffany said, feigning irritation.
Just then, Mary and her minions walked past and gave them a dirty look.
“I didn’t tell you guys. While I was heading to class alone, Mary stopped me to ask about the rumor of you and Shawn Gold,” Freya said.
“That bitch!” Tiffany scowled.
“What’s her obsession with you anyway? That girl wants to know every little detail of your life,” Timothy asked.
“I honestly don’t know, Tim,” Tiffany replied.
“Can’t you guys see? She’s jealous of Tiffany. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Tiff has the perfect face, body, grades, car, accessories, and now she’s going to have a perfect boyfriend,” Freya said, making gestures.
“Umm… Freya, Tim, I have to go.” Tiffany hurriedly said, wanting to avoid talking about Shawn Gold.
“Understandable, Hun. I have a date with a handsome guy I recently met on Instagram,” Freya cheerfully announced.
“You’re always meeting new guys. It’s not news anymore,” Timothy teased.
“Get a girlfriend, at least. Then we can have this conversation. Bye, amigos!” Freya blew them a kiss and walked away.
“Freya will never change,” Tiffany chuckled, watching their friend’s retreating figure.
“Yeah, she won’t. And I hope you don’t change either,” Timothy replied.
“Ummm… I have to go. Want to join me for a ride?” Tiffany changed the topic.
“Nah, I’ll pass. My driver will be here soon,” Timothy replied.
“Okay then.” Tiffany got into the car.
“We’ll chat later,” Timothy said, waving.
He continued to wave until she was out of sight. Letting out a sigh, he walked out of the parking lot.
