Chase’s POV
I walked to the table and picked up a glass of champagne.
“Where is everybody?” I said more to myself while my eyes scanned the whole place looking for my people. Mika, Hercules, Angus, Dean, Andre. No one was close by. But I could spot my men all around.
No matter how I tried to deny it, my eyes kept looking around for Kelsi. Because if I can find her I have found Arya. I searched all the blonde hairs I could see but no one was Arya. Where could she be? I sighted a blonde hair but I was disappointed to find out it wasn’t Arya.
Earlier I had seen her with Kelsi. I watched her engage in polite conversation with a group of ladies. Seeing her in that dress I had picked myself made my head swell. I truly had an eye for beautiful things like Hercules said. I remember how fitting that gown had been on her. I hope Arya did not doubt he beauty for one day.
I sipped the glass of wine, an usher handed to me and watched everyone move around with smiles on their faces. Was this party that great ? The thought of having people in my pack made me uncomfortable but Angus and Hercules thought otherwise. They said that since I was vying for the role of Alpha king I needed to be part of their life. I needed them to know me more than the usual mysterious beast.
I had this sudden urge to look for Arya when I saw someone stop in front of you.
“Alpha Julian” he presented a hand and I shook it.
He sipped on his wine while looking around “Very good work you have done here” Alpha Julian praised as he raised his wine glass to me.
It was my most recent building. The hall of Dames. It was shaped like a heart but the insides were made of glass. While I was building this, it was the talk of the town.
I nodded, raising my glass back at him. ” Thank You Julian, the Daunt pack has been of great help to the black moon pack.”
And so he went on about a new mate his Kate beta had gotten.
I excused myself and went to the wine table. ” Your highness” I turned to find the alpha of the two other packs behind me. They had on big smiles like babies.
“Your house is huge. ” One of them said ” who built it for you?”
“it’s the vampires” I saw the look of horror in their face. I coughed trying to cover my laugh. People have been speculating for so long but no one had ever come up to me, to ask questions. Didn’t they say my pack was like a dustbin for all super naturals. What were they doing here then?
“Chase!” I turned around and found Hercules and Angus. I smiled. My people were here.
“Gentlemen” I gave them a small nod before leaving them.
Loosening my tie, I walked into my chambers. “gosh it’s so suffocating. Where have you guys been?”
There was silence. I turned around to find all my people standing there. They couldn’t look me in the eye. It was then I knew something was wrong.
Slowly I walked towards them.
“What happened?” I growled. There was still jo answer from them. Immediately I grabbed Angus by the shirt and shoved him to the wall.
“Answer me!!!” I thundered. My eyes wide. My breathing ragged.
“Your highness, Chamberlin is missing”
Instantly I zoomed off to where Dean stood. ” what. Did. You. Say.?” I growled.
There was silence again.
I briefly shut my eyes and looked up. Then I burst into a laugh.
“Chase…” Dean ran a hand over his hair’ it was after the cake was cut.” Dean said. ” We just couldn’t find him. We have combed through the Palace. He is no where to be found” I stared at them in disbelief.
Mika cleared her throat “Chase we just don’t kn-”
“Mika please don’t make excuses” I snapped at her. She stared at the floor. It took everything in me to not flare up. Snap necks. Kill someone. I wanted to see blood Flow.
I backed away slowly. ” okay” I guess I have to find my son myself! Since Al I have are idiots!” I yelled. Mika flinched.
“Everyone prepare” I muttered darkly. “we are leaving now.” I barked out orders. I grabbed my silver gun and loaded with silver bullets. I walked out of room. Angus following closely.
“Your highness, everyone is in the car and waiting”
I nodded. I walked past the hall of Dames. People were party on the hardest. Unbeknownst to them, the celebrant has gone missing. My eyes caught sight of a blonde head and I remembered Arya. She would be shattered once she hears of this. I clenched my fist. Determined to find my son or else heads would roll.
Then we got into the car. We sped off
I took in deep breath and stared at my hands. They were trembling. I gritted my teeth.
“Angus!”
“yes your highness”
“Make a call. All guards in Charge today should be put on death row” I muttered.
“yes your highness”
“How many search parties did you send out?” I asked.
“100” Angus replied.
“Call. Make it 150” I said.
“yew your highness”
I stare our the window as I tried to calm myself. We were headed to the outskirts of my pack. The search will go full circle from there. Suddenly the car came to a stop.
“what’s wrong?” I asked.
“something has been found.” The driver said. I jumped out of the car and into the road. Car doors were slammed shut.
Immediately my nails began to turn to claws and fangs appeared on my teeth. Within a twinkle of an eye, I had already transitioned. And so did the others.
“oww! Oww! Owwww!!!” I turned sharply in response to that howl. It was a wolf on the mountains. He had signaled to my wolf. Someone was found in the mountains. I needed to go see.
