Alexander pov
“I will kill him” I hissed under my breath as I stormed into the study, only to freeze for a brief moment when my eyes landed on the scene before me.
Sebastian was cornered against the table, his body tense, while Daniel stood in front of him, arms braced on either side as he leaned in closer. A smirk played on Daniel’s lips as he muttered,
“Why are you blushing so much? Don’t tell me you like me by any chance. Is that why you’ve been avoiding me? If you like me then you should just tell me, I might reject you since I like ‘women’ but don’t avoid me, hm?”
“Dr D-Daniel, please step back. What are you doing? The boss might come in at any moment!”
“You are not denying the fact you like me” The idiot grinned and leaned in closer “Why do you like me, Sebastian? Is it because of my beautiful appearance or the fact that I am just perfect?”
The corner of my lips curled into a sneer, and without hesitation, I slammed the door shut, the sharp sound cutting through the tension and instantly halting whatever the fuck was going on. Both of them snapped their heads toward me, eyes wide with alarm.
“B-Boss…” Sebastian stammered, pushing his glasses higher up his nose.
“Shit! Alexander-” Daniel gasped dramatically, stepping away from Sebastian like he’d been burned. Fear flickered in his eyes.
I narrowed my gaze, stalking toward him. He immediately backed away, hands raised in surrender, forcing a nervous laugh.
“A-Alexander! It’s not what it looks like, I swear! I was just telling Sebastian he had something in his eye, it wasn’t-”
Before he could finish, I shoved him to the ground and strode past, settling into the chair. My palm slammed against the desk.
“They were kidnapped. That bastard took them,” I said through clenched teeth.
Nico. I knew it had to be him. This wasn’t the first time he’d pulled something like this- he’d kidnapped Felix before. Now, with his stolen drugs gone, I should have known he would retaliate. But taking them right under my nose? That was the last straw.
“That bastard must really have a death wish.”
“Wait, what?!” Daniel shot up from the ground, eyes wide with disbelief. Beside him, Sebastian stiffened.
“Who was kidnapped? Don’t tell me it was…”
“The madam and the young master,” Sebastian finished, his voice grim.
They both turned to me for confirmation. When I didn’t respond, their expressions darkened.
“Fuck, it’s them,” Daniel muttered. “But how were they kidnapped? Weren’t they with you?”
I shot him a look, and he immediately shut his mouth, taking a step back and hiding behind Sebastian.
Sebastian scoffed, shaking his head at Daniel before stepping forward.
“Boss, do you think it’s Nico again this time? We can’t track down the young master anymore because he refuses to wear the tracker,” he said.
Leaning back in my seat, I tapped my fingers against the desk- a habit of mine when deep in thought.
“Who else would it be aside from that bastard? He’s the only one dumb enough to go against me.”
“… Ahem. And someone else too,” Daniel cleared his throat, muttering under his breath.
I knew exactly who he was talking about, but it couldn’t be her. Why? Because she had died two years ago and I had made sure to double-check her body just to be certain.
Before I could say anything, the door swung open, and Adrian stepped in, bowing slightly in respect before speaking.
“The men are already in position, boss. Weapons have been assigned to everyone. We’re ready to move.”
I gave him a curt nod, then reached for the drawer in front of me, grabbing several bullets. As I stood, I tucked them into my pocket, my expression cold as I walked toward the door. But in the next second, a hand grabbed mine.
“Alexander, wait… are you sure it’s Nico this time? From what I’ve noticed, Nico is crazy, but he doesn’t act so openly. Maybe… it’s not him. We should be sure before you-”
I yanked my hand from his grip, tilting my head slightly as I turned around and studied him, one brow arched.
Daniel swallowed nervously, clearing his throat before quickly averting his gaze.
I might not like Daniel, and we might be worlds apart, but he was my twin brother- I could read him like a book.
And if there was one thing I knew about him, it was that whenever he was guilty of something, he would sweat buckets.
And right now… well, let’s just say he was practically drowning.
A dry chuckle escaped my lips as I stepped closer to Daniel. His eyes widened in alarm, and he instinctively moved back, retreating with each step until his back pressed against the wall, trapped with no way out.
“Huh… AAlexander, you’re invading my personal space. W-what are you doing?”
I leaned in, our faces just inches apart, my eyes narrowing.
“I should be asking you that. What did you do? You’re hiding something from me, aren’t you?”
The way his eyes instantly widened like a kid caught stealing proved my point. To be honest, I didn’t care if Daniel was hiding something from me, but the fact that whatever he was hiding might have something to do with Valentina and Felix’s kidnapping made my blood boil. If he didn’t start talking in the next second, he wouldn’t like what happened next.
“H-Hiding something from you? Of course not, Alexander! Haha… What could I possibly be hiding?” He forced a laugh, his gaze flickering nervously to Sebastian. “Right, Sebastian?”
Without missing a beat, Sebastian deadpanned,
“He’s definitely lying, boss. Don’t believe him- he’s sweating. He definitely did something wrong.”
Daniel’s eyes widened in disbelief, but I had no time for his games. I was about to reach for the gun in my pocket when the sound of the door opening made me pause.
I turned around, my frown deepening as yet another idiot strolled into the study- this one different but no less irritating. His posture was relaxed as he casually chewed on a bag of chips and hummed.
“Hey, everyone! Have you seen sister-in-law? I can’t find the little demon anywhere either.”
As soon as I turned my attention to Juilian, Daniel let out a sigh of relief and quickly ran to hide behind Sebastian.
“Fuck, fuck! He was about to pull out his gun, wasn’t he?!”
“Dr. Daniel, could you stop using me as a human shield every time you’re in danger?” Sebastian asked.
I frowned and turned to glare at Julian. He seemed to sense something was off because he instinctively took a step back before turning to Adrian.
“Did something happen?”
Adrian remained silent, his face unreadable.
Instead, Sebastian answered. “Madam and the young master have been kidnapped.”
Julian’s mouth fell open.
“Holy shit! Again?!”
I scoffed and ran a hand through my hair in frustration.
This was a waste of time. I had no idea what was happening to them right now, and I had to find them before it was too late.
“Adrian, let’s go,” I said. “We’ll ambush Nico’s home, and even if we have to kill everyone, we will find them.”
As I turned to leave, Julian suddenly raised his hand in the air.
“Huh… Uncle? Would this be a bad time to mention that I can track them down?”
I froze, and so did everyone else. All eyes turned to him in disbelief.
“What?”
Julian swallowed nervously, then gave a sheepish grin.
“I mean… since I noticed the little demon hated the trackers you kept putting on his clothes, I might have hidden one in his pen instead- the one he always keeps in his pocket. That way, he wouldn’t know there was a tracker, and he wouldn’t throw it away. I wanted to tell you, actually, but… I forgot.”
“Oh my God,” Daniel gasped in surprise, his eyes widening.
Julian’s smile stiffened as he rubbed the back of his head. “D-Did I do something wrong?” he asked hesitantly.
Daniel shook his head, still staring at Julian in disbelief. “No… it’s just that, for the first time, you actually did something smart.”
“Ah… thanks, I guess.”
I blinked out of my daze and, for the first time, actually looked at Julian in a different light. Maybe he wasn’t completely stupid after all.
“Get him a laptop,” I ordered. Adrian bowed slightly before walking out of the study.
A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips as I turned back to Julian. He shuddered under my gaze, instinctively stepping back as I moved toward him.
“U-uncle… are you upset? I-I’m sorry for-” His hands shot up to shield his face as I raised mine, but he froze when I simply patted his shoulder.
“Good job, I guess it wasn’t so bad to buy you from your father”
Julian’s eyes widened in surprise and his eyes became teary.
“Aw, uncle this is the first time you said something like that wait, did you just say you bought me?!!”
