I lay on Kael’s back, laughing uncontrollably.
Perhaps it was the alcohol, but I felt more uninhibited than usual. Even when Kael spoke those words, I wasn’t afraid at all. Instead, I tightened my arms around him.
“Then take me to your apartment,” I said, resting my head on his shoulder and squinting my eyes. I felt the steady rhythm of his movements, the way his body swayed as he walked.
His body was firm, every inch of it solid muscle, unlike my own, which felt soft and pliable.
“Just don’t regret it,” Kael said with a grin.
A sudden rush of wind brushed past my ears, and the scene before me shifted in an instant. When I blinked, I found myself in Kael’s apartment.
The space felt oddly familiar, almost like it was my own.
“You really couldn’t wait, could you?” I teased him, unable to resist.
“Yes, Seraphina, I couldn’t,” Kael replied, his voice thick with desire, rough and husky.
He pinned me against the wall, his hands firm as they gripped my jaw. Without hesitation, he kissed me deeply.
I closed my eyes, surrendering to the kiss. Everything felt hazy, our mouths blending the sharp taste of alcohol. The mix of sensations left me even more intoxicated.
My breathing became erratic, and all I could do was gasp for air.
Suddenly, Kael pulled away, his lips trailing down to the sensitive skin on my neck. He licked at my racing pulse before gently biting down.
A whimper escaped my lips, full of longing. My eyes fluttered shut as waves of pleasure coursed through me.
His hands moved between my thighs, massaging gently, making my body tremble as I instinctively pressed closer to him.
Kael slid my pants down, along with my underwear, and slipped his fingers inside me. A low groan escaped his lips as he nipped lightly at my ear.
“Your body is so honest,” he murmured, his voice a deep rumble.
I knew I was completely drenched by now. Wrapping my arms around his shoulders, I clung to him, letting his hands work me over.
Eventually, Kael lifted me in his arms, my legs wrapping around his waist. With a swift motion, he removed his own pants.
Then, he pushed himself inside me.
The feeling of being completely filled was overwhelming, leaving my mind utterly blank.
Kael carried me forward, each step jolting my body, sending shivers through me.
Oh, God. The sensation was indescribable. My breathing became erratic, and each thrust sent sparks of pleasure shooting through me.
When the intensity reached its peak, my entire body convulsed as though electrified. I clung to Kael, unable to hold back.
I climaxed.
Kael chuckled softly, his laughter deep and amused. Then, he threw me onto the bed.
This time, he entered me from a different angle.
We kept changing positions, trying everything imaginable. Kael’s stamina was incredible-despite my exhaustion, he showed no signs of slowing down.
He was a werewolf, after all, and a seasoned boxer. His strength was something no ordinary person could match.
Eventually, I passed out from sheer exhaustion.
The tension that had been building inside me all day finally melted away.
Lucian, werewolves, the dangers lurking in the town-none of it mattered anymore.
To hell with it all. I was just an ordinary human. Why should I care about any of this?
When I closed my eyes, I drifted into a dream.
In the dream, I saw a wolf. Its fur was pure white, and its eyes were a soft shade of violet-beautiful and regal.
The wolf stood there, gazing at me with a gentle expression.
Then, it spoke.
“Seraphina.”
Its voice was warm and melodious, almost feminine, nothing like the harsh, feral tones I’d expect from a wolf.
In that moment, I felt a strange sense of certainty.
Somehow, I just knew.
This wolf was mine. It belonged to me.
But I was human… wasn’t I?
The realization jolted me awake.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself still in Kael’s arms. He held me close, fast asleep.
As if sensing my unease, Kael instinctively tightened his grip, pulling me further into his broad chest. His steady breathing and the sound of his heartbeat calmed me.
I couldn’t help but think about the dream.
If it was real, then what did that make me?
Could I truly be a werewolf?
Was that white wolf my wolf?
It was so beautiful.
Even though the thought of becoming a werewolf made me uneasy, I had to admit-I didn’t dislike the wolf in my dream.
In fact, I wanted to reach out and touch it.
This strange feeling left me shaken.
“What’s wrong?” Kael murmured, his voice groggy as he stirred awake. His arm around my waist tightened protectively.
“I just had a dream,” I said.
“A dream?” Kael’s tone sharpened slightly. “What did you see?”
“There was a wolf. Its fur was snow-white, and its eyes were light violet. It was the most beautiful wolf I’ve ever seen.”
“Oh?” Kael paused, then said, “It sounds like your wolf is starting to awaken.”
“No, it was just my imagination.” I shook my head, burying my face in his chest.
I could feel Kael’s soft laughter rumbling against my cheek. He sounded pleased.
“For most werewolves, their wolf awakens after they reach adulthood. If we calculate the timing, it aligns perfectly for you.”
“Stop it. I don’t want to hear this.”
I refused to believe it. I wasn’t a werewolf.
I was human.
Kael smiled gently. “I just want you to be prepared, Seraphina. That’s all.”
But I wasn’t worried. I didn’t believe a word of it.
This world was already messed up enough as it was.
So much so that I was starting to doubt the validity of my studies.
Werewolves didn’t exist in textbooks. They defied the boundaries of human understanding.
And what about witches? Vampires? Were they real too?
The thought sent shivers down my spine.
“Kael, do you think the world will ever go back to normal?”
“I don’t know,” Kael admitted. “But you should be prepared for things to get worse. From the looks of it, other packs are starting to interfere in this town.”
“Why would they do that?” My sleepiness vanished as anxiety gripped me. “What do you mean by ‘other packs’?”
