Moreover, If Johnny had really gone back to his parents’ place, there was no reason for him to turn off his phone.
At the very least, he could’ve sent her a text.
Even if his phone was broken, he could’ve borrowed someone else’s to call her!
Just as Tilda was driving back to Johnny’s villa to check again, her phone screen lit up. It was Johnny calling.
She slammed on the brakes, pulling over to the side of the road.
“Hello?”
“Tilda.”
The moment she heard his voice, her eyes burned red uncontrollably. “Where the hell have you been?! Do you have any idea how scared I was?”
Perhaps startled by her fury, Johnny paused before replying hoarsely, “My phone died. I forgot to check.”
“And there was no one around you? Couldn’t you borrow a phone to call me?” Her tone was undeniably sharp-especially after a sleepless night. Her heart pounded violently as she yelled, “Johnny, stop lying. You just didn’t want to contact me, did you?!”
These excuses were obviously flimsy lies.
But strangely, Johnny didn’t deny it.
She could hear the flick of a lighter-he was probably smoking.
After a long silence, just as Tilda was about to speak again, Johnny suddenly said, “Tilda, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“Huh?” That opening line didn’t bode well. “Don’t tell me you get back together with your ex. Is that why you were at the hospital yesterday?”
Johnny didn’t respond immediately.
“Say something!” His silence made her heart clench.
Did she… guess it right?
“No, I didn’t get back with her.”
Her tension eased slightly when he added, “But last night… I was with her.”
Tilda froze momentarily.
“Where are you? Let’s meet up and talk.” Johnny’s voice trembled, whether from guilt or something else.
But all Tilda felt was disgust.
So he’d been with his ex this whole time, while she’d been running around like an idiot all night!
“Johnny, I never should’ve believed your bullshit about changing!”
She hung up immediately.
Then she drove straight to Johnny’s villa.
Her things were there. She needed to take them and never see this bastard again.
Maybe it was the lack of sleep. Tilda couldn’t think straight. Only one thought consumed her-she needed to get to the villa, pack her own things, and cut ties with Johnny for good!
She didn’t even know how she made it there, her hands shaking the entire time.
She parked, stormed inside, and started throwing all her belongings into suitcases.
Johnny wasn’t stupid. After she hung up, he knew exactly where she’d go.
So he rushed back to the villa.
The haphazardly parked car confirmed she was inside.
Sure enough, the first thing he saw upon opening the door was two suitcases-the ones Tilda had brought.
There was no sign of her, but he could hear movement in the master bedroom.
She was probably packing her clothes.
Johnny didn’t even bother taking off his shoes. He strode straight toward the bedroom.
