Kayden smirked and taunted, enunciating each word clearly, “I’m the ignorant fool you were talking about, huh?”
As he finished speaking, he flicked his fingers sharply. Oliver Prescott, who had been suspended in mid-air, was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud. Blood spewed from Oliver’s mouth as he lay there, his face a mixture of despair and defeat.
The battle was over. The winner was decided.
Oliver Prescott had lost-utterly and miserably.
But it wasn’t over yet. Kayden took a step forward, slowly walking out of the crater left behind in the aftermath of the fight. He approached Oliver Prescott, looming over him, and asked coldly, “Do you have any other tricks left?”
Oliver Prescott’s face was consumed by fear. His earlier pride had entirely vanished, replaced by sheer terror.
That single question-“Do you have any other tricks?”-was like a dagger to his soul. His pupils dilated in shock, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Kayden stared at him and said, his tone icy, “I don’t think you have anything left. I have to admit, your ‘Thirteen Blades of Destiny’ was impressive, but it’s useless against me. It can’t harm me.”
Oliver Prescott looked at Kayden with lifeless eyes, like a fish out of water. He bit his lip and shook his head, gasping, “No… no… no!”
For someone like Oliver Prescott, who had made a name for himself in the martial world, this defeat was more than a loss-it was humiliation. To lose to a young man was a blow to his pride, worse than death itself.
Kayden saw through his thoughts and sneered, “Don’t look so surprised. Losing to me is the greatest honor of your life. At least it proves you were worthy of standing against me.”
As he finished speaking, Kayden crouched down and picked up Oliver Prescott’s sword. He swung it a few times, testing its balance, and chuckled. “What a fine sword! You’ve probably used this for thirty years, haven’t you?”
Oliver Prescott raised his head and stared at Kayden, asking weakly, “What are you going to do?”
Kayden replied casually, “Naturally, I’ll use your sword to cut off your arm. Didn’t you just say you wanted to sever my limbs? Well, I’ll fulfill your wish.”
With that, his blade flashed.
In an instant, the sword sliced cleanly through Oliver Prescott’s arm.
The blade was sharp and precise, leaving no trace of blood on its edge. Oliver Prescott’s arm fell to the ground, severed completely.
A piercing scream erupted from Oliver Prescott as he writhed on the ground in agony, his face contorted in pain.
The scene struck fear into the hearts of everyone watching.
Kayden’s ruthlessness was overwhelming. His cold demeanor was unmatched, his presence exuding an invincibility that sent chills down spines.
Oliver Prescott lay on the ground, groaning in pain, and muttered, “The victor takes all… kill me… just kill me!”
“Kill you?” Kayden sneered. “I don’t think so. You said you’d cut off my limbs, but you didn’t say you’d kill me. Since you didn’t plan to kill me, why should I kill you?”
As his words fell, the sword in his hand moved again.
Oliver Prescott’s other arm was severed in a flash. Both his arms were now gone.
His eyes widened in disbelief before he fainted from the pain.
Kayden tossed the sword aside and turned his gaze to Gavin. His tone was indifferent as he asked, “Anyone else? If there is, bring them all out now. Don’t waste my time.”
Kayden’s words hit Gavin like a hammer. His confidence shattered, replaced by dread.
Aside from Oliver Prescott, Gavin’s strongest allies were the Iron Guards-and now they were gone. Oliver Prescott was defeated, and Gavin had no one left. His world was crumbling.
Gavin, once so self-assured, was now consumed by fear.
Kayden’s voice remained steady as he addressed Gavin, “If there’s no one else, confess. Tell me how you conspired with outsiders to kill your father and your brother. After that, kneel and take your own life. Someone like you doesn’t deserve to live. If you end your life, I’ll spare your family.”
At that moment, Kayden stood like a god towering over the Azure Cloud Resort, his presence dominating everyone around him.
Gavin opened his mouth, ready to speak, but Kayden interrupted him. “Of course, you don’t have to confess. If you refuse, I’ll still announce this: From today onward, Sophie will be the new master of Azure Cloud Resort.”
Gavin’s heart sank, waves of panic surging within him.
The position he had just claimed-was it going to be taken away so easily?
Before Gavin could respond, Ryder stepped forward, shouting like a fool, “You bastard! Who do you think you are? You think you can announce Sophie as the master of Azure Cloud Resort, and it’ll happen? Let me tell you, you’re not qualified to make that decision, and Sophie doesn’t deserve it either!”
“Not qualified?”
Kayden’s eyes darkened, his muscles tensed, and with a flick of his hand, the sword flew through the air.
With a sharp whistle, the blade pierced Ryder’s chest, driving straight through his heart. In mere moments, Ryder’s heart stopped beating.
His eyes glazed over as he fell lifeless to the ground. Even in his final moments, Ryder couldn’t comprehend how he had died so suddenly.
In front of Gavin and his family, Kayden killed Ryder without a second thought. His expression remained cold and detached, as if he had merely slaughtered a pig or a dog.
Kayden’s merciless decisiveness left no doubt-he didn’t value human life at all.
“Ah! Ah! Ah!” Ivy collapsed to the ground, her terrified screams filling the air as she stared at Ryder’s corpse. Her eyes bulged in horror, unable to believe what she was witnessing.
“Shut up.” Kayden’s voice was calm, almost indifferent. “When I don’t want you to speak, you’d better stay silent.”
He turned back to Gavin, his tone unhurried. “You have no choice. I’m simply giving you the chance to end things yourself. If you refuse, I’ll end your life instead. But before I do, let me remind you-you owe a debt, and it’s time to repay it.”
As he spoke, Kayden walked toward Sophie. She stood frozen, her pale face filled with fear as she gazed at him.
She didn’t know how to react to Kayden or what to make of this man standing before her.
Without giving her a chance to respond, Kayden took Sophie’s hand and led her toward Gavin.
Standing before Gavin, Kayden turned to the gathered crowd and declared loudly, “Now, I announce: Sophie is the new master of Azure Cloud Resort!”
