“He will, he definitely will! How could he not? It’s instinctive for men. Who says a fool can’t? Even if he doesn’t know how to use that thing, he still has hands, doesn’t he?”
“Hahahaha!” The comment sparked another round of laughter.
“By the way, I heard something. That idiot groped a woman’s behind on the street last time and ended up paying her five hundred bucks. In the future, Sophie could charge him five hundred dollars each time he touches someone. She could make a fortune!”
“Snort!”
“Exactly! Imagine how much she could earn in a single day. Truly enviable!”
“Enviable? Then why don’t I find a fool for you to marry?”
“No, no, I don’t want to marry a fool! Only Sophie is fit to marry someone like that.”
Suddenly, someone remarked, “Oh, I get it now. She’s out here because she ran away from her wedding!”
Ran away from her wedding?
Hearing this, Ivy froze in disbelief.
“That’s right! She must have run away. Look at her; she’s even got a man with her. Did you see? That man just touched her. Their relationship must be intimate!”
“Sophie!” Ivy suddenly shouted at Sophie like a queen issuing an order. “Did you run away from your wedding?”
Sophie stayed silent, but Kayden replied firmly, “She didn’t run away. It’s the marriage arranged by the Alfredson family that has been annulled.”
“How dare you!” Ivy snapped coldly. “Who are you? What right do you have to speak here? I’m talking to Sophie, not you! Shut your mouth and stay out of this!”
To Ivy, this wasn’t a conversation but an interrogation. She saw herself as a judge, and the three in front of her as criminals.
At Ivy’s words, Wood Faulkner stepped forward, gripping his twin blades tightly. His voice was icy as he said, “Disrespect Mr. Scott, and you die!”
He was about to move forward and strike her down, but Kayden stopped him. “Stand down, Wood Faulkner!”
Wood Faulkner froze, looking at Kayden in confusion.
Kayden spoke calmly, “This kind of person should be dealt with later. For now, let her bask in her delusion that Azure Cloud Resort is untouchable. Give her a few more minutes of arrogance.”
He wasn’t here just to kill. More importantly, he was here to solidify Sophie’s standing. Some people couldn’t be dealt with just yet. This woman was one of them.
“Sophie, Madam is speaking to you. Are you mute? How dare you make her wait so long for an answer? Do you think you’re someone important?” A woman suddenly stepped forward, her tone condescending.
“Whoosh!” Without hesitation, Kayden grabbed the short blade from Wood Faulkner’s hand and threw it. The blade pierced through the woman’s forehead, shattering her skull.
The motion was fluid, swift, and decisive. He couldn’t hold back anymore.
He could tolerate Ivy, but no one else had the right to criticize Sophie.
“Ah!” The women around them screamed and stumbled back in fear.
The woman who was struck fell to her knees, blood streaming from her head onto the ground.
“From now on, if any of you dare utter another word, I’ll kill you on the spot!”
Even Sophie was stunned by the sudden act. It was too quick, too unbelievable!
Kayden had actually killed someone right in front of her.
Ivy’s face turned pale as she shouted, “You-you-you! Who are you? How dare you kill someone in Azure Cloud Resort! How dare you kill someone here!”
“Heh, kill someone? You think that’s all I’m here to do? I haven’t even started slaughtering your entire Azure Cloud Resort yet!”
Kayden had no patience to listen to these women any longer. He had a clear idea of how Sophie had been treated these past few days. The once-beloved Sophie had been reduced to a target of scorn, a victim of cruelty.
Her life had plummeted from heaven into the depths of hell.
“Ridiculous!” A furious roar suddenly echoed, like the bellow of a raging bull.
From the northwest side of the resort, four men emerged from a building. Leading them was a middle-aged man with long hair and a faint mustache, just as Kayden remembered him from their first meeting.
Kayden recognized two of the men following him-Ryder, the man who had once spent a million dollars to buy water from him, and Crazy Sword, the man he had maimed by severing an arm. The fourth man, however, was a stranger, and Kayden had no interest in knowing him.
As the group approached, Gavin scanned the scene and noticed the slain woman on the ground. His face darkened with rage.
“Master!” Ivy cried out, rushing to report. “This lunatic killed someone in Azure Cloud Resort! He murdered Joe! And he even threatened to slaughter all of us!”
Gavin frowned as he turned his gaze to Kayden. Of course, it was him-the man he had anticipated.
Ryder, seeing Kayden, became frantic with excitement. “Father, it’s him! He’s the one who beat me! He’s the one who broke my leg! I can’t believe he had the audacity to come here and seek his own death.”
Ryder was trembling with agitation.
It was as if fate had delivered Kayden to him on a silver platter. Ryder had been contemplating how to track him down, and now here he was, walking straight into their midst.
More importantly, Ryder still had a grudge over the million dollars he had lost to Kayden.
Gavin listened to Ryder’s account, his eyes narrowing as he appraised Kayden and then glanced at Sophie.
Finally, Gavin spoke coldly, “What’s the meaning of this, sir? You trespass on Walsh family property, kill our people, and injure my son. The Walsh family has no prior grievance with you-why are you targeting us like this?”
Then, turning to Sophie, he added, “And you! Weren’t you already married to the Alfredson family’s young master? Why are you here now? Do you realize how much this hurts me? Your parents wouldn’t rest in peace knowing what you’ve done.”
Sophie felt a wave of disgust as she looked at Gavin’s self-righteous expression.
“Gavin, do you even have the audacity to mention my parents? You disgusting beast! The mere mention of their names from your mouth makes me sick!”
Gavin’s brow furrowed, and he let out a sharp “Hmph!” before saying, “How dare you, Sophie! Is that any way to speak to me? I’m still your uncle, and you dare call me a beast? Such disgraceful behavior! Your parents are gone, and I made the best arrangements for you. Yet here you are, calling me a beast. You’re truly ungrateful.”
“The best arrangements?” Sophie shook her head with a bitter smile. “You actually have the nerve to say that.”
