Meantime,
Anamika on the other hand was restless when the thoughts of Diana probed into her mind.
She was seated close to her sleeping mum on the bed, but was completely absent minded.
Then her phone chirped with a message, she dug her hands into her pocket and unearthed the phone. She quickly navigated to the message centre and saw the message from her secret lover, and it read,
“Diana’s children are illegitimate, no one knows their father!”.
Diana was stunned that she clenched her fist anxiously. She had told her secret lover to find out about Diana’s children father, providing him with the necessary details to do so.
The kids sure has a resemblance with the five star general and about six years old. Anamika suddenly became sensitive especially while trying to discern and connect the dots.
She was now feeling like it was a necessary prerequisite to be aware of everything about Diana now! Aside being the four star general and a mother to triplets? What else?
Deep down, she could not help but wonder whether Diana’s children belonged to General Derrick, they even have a resemblance to him. Anamika suddenly started calculating the time and then he deduced the age of the children and it matched with, from the time from seven years ago. The children possibly either belonged to General Derrick or her brother, but her brother hardly have sex with her and on the other hand, Diana only had a one night stand with general Derrick.
No! It can’t be easily possible for a barren women to be pregnant with just a one night stand…
At the thoughts of that, Anamika’s curiosity grew.
Not only is Diana a high ranking officer in the military. She is on her nerves- and her mum’s life depends on whether she agrees to treat her or not.
Then a wicked unsettling thought flashed through her faculty of thoughts,
What if general Derrick recognizes Diana since they would be working together and then he confronts her? If that happens, he will eventually find out the truth and then he wouldn’t hesitate to punish Anamika and cast her away harshly and then she would be forgotten even as she watches Diana take everything she had away from her.
“No! I can’t let this happen! No!!!!!” Anamika jerked up and screamed, “No!” Loudly. Horror written all over her face, she started to pace forth and back in the bedroom with a panicky expression.
Frightened by the thoughts, Anamika came to realize and understand that she would lose everything, the comfort life inclusive if the five star general finds out the truth. As her greed for wealth and authority got the better of her, her obsession with her current comfort of her life had inadvertently took over her. Her mind became the devil’s workshop.
“No! I must not lose what I have now! I must not, rather I have to think of gaining more! I need to get General Derrick to sign the contract marriage with me as soon as possible! And even if he finds out the truth, i will have a remedy for being his wife!”
More importantly right now, Anamika needs to find out if Diana knows about all of this and most precious was if, she can take cognizance of the man she spent the night with! And if peradventure she knows what is going on,
“I guess I must do something to prevent the worst to come!.”
Despite the thoughts of that, Anamika was sure that General Derrick couldn’t take cognizance or remember the lady, whom he spent and ravished that night because the room 309 room reservation ID was all the clue he had before he decided Anamika was the one, nonetheless, she was quickly worried by another possibility when she wondered what would happen if General Derrick was able to recognize Diana.
There is no telling or guarantee that they may have a conversation as alliance that could possibly jog their memories to recognize each other.
Anamika was completely overwhelmed by her fear and anxiety that she then decided to strode down to the second floor, maybe she could get words out of Diana and be sure she doesn’t remember him.
With that thought in mind, she started downstairs… lost in thought.
On the staircase, Diana was climbing to the third floor to confront Anamika who in turn was coming to the second floor to confront her. Both of them didn’t realized when they bumped into each other as they were both lost in another thought.
“Hey, watch where you’re going!” Anamika said, snarling up with a frown.
Diana turned and shot Anamika a frigid glare, as if to scare her… Indeed it did scare her. Diana was a four star general and Anamika needed not be a genius to know what power and authority she posseses.
“You stay at the second floor, why are you coming to the third floor?” Anamika inquired, probing into her curiosity.
“How about you? You stay at the third floor why are you coming to the second floor?” Diana countered,
“Anyways, I’ll be direct! And of course it’s obvious you and your mum set me up to be fucked by a stranger at the hotel, seven years ago, which explains why you and your mum were there to take photographs of me and send them to Harvey’s WhatsApp, thereby providing him with solid reasons and evidence to divorce me and throw me out! Right?” Diana summarized, trying not to beat around the bush.
“Go straight to the point young lady!” Anamika suddenly raised her voice, on realizing that, she added, “I have an important meeting to attend to and I’m running late already!” She needed to soften the venom her previous statement probably have caused, who dares shout at the four star general?
“Does this mean she remembers the stranger?” Anamika thought silently.
“Whatever, who is the gigolo you set me up to be fucked by seven years ago?” Diana popped the question all of a sudden in a requesting cold tone, her frown evidently speaking volumes of how serious she was.
Anamika felt a huge relief when she heard Diana’s words, obviously, it’s clear she doesn’t remember him, if not why else would she be asking for his identity? Nonetheless, another thought sprang up in Anamika’s faculty of thoughts.
“Why is Diana suddenly interested in his identity? No way was she going to hell her it was the five star general!”
Also, she could cease this opportunity and strike a deal with Diana!
“Speak up young lady! Did you think I’ll easily forget how you made me fell from into your ruthless conspiracy? I left what I was doing and ran to the hotel in order to save you, but I ended up spending the night with a gigolo instead! Now, tell me… Who is he?” Diana barked,
Anamika only responded with a chuckled in satisfaction, “it’s clear you’re still pained, and it’s not my fault you’re so gullible. I thought you have moved on already. Little did I know you can’t seem to forget the day you were destroyed…. and about the gigolo?”
“I’d only tell you his identity if agree to treat my mother!” Anamika stroke a deal, her voice was sharp and firm.
“Diana clenched her fist in anger, she had no other alternative so, she agreed without thinking about it,
“I’d get the herb to treat her by tomorrow…. Now tell me, who is he?”
Anamika smirked, “Get her back to her feet first, loser!” With that said, she started walking out,
“I have to go to meeting! It’s quite urgent!” Anamika added as she strode away.
Diana cursed….. How can she treat the one who destroyed her life seven years ago? However, she can’t refute. She has by evening to provide her kid’s with their father.
She can’t delay, but she resolved to explain to her kids with lies that it’d be by evening tomorrow because there is no guarantee that their father would return from the battlefield by evening time.
Meantime, the attorney general of Delta city supreme high court and Anamika’s attorney were seated at a restaurant waiting for Anamika to arrive.
Anamika informed them minutes ago about her plans…
