Elena’s POV.
A loud hysterical laughter suddenly blurted through his mouth, echoing all over the room.
I tried to strain my eyes to at least, get a little glance at his face since a considerable amount of light had filtered into the room, but being in the darkness for the past few days seemed to have punctured my eye lens making it seem as though I was staring into space despite how I hard I tried.
But then, why does the voice sound so familiar? I mean, the darkness hasn’t affected my ears too right?
I quickly squeezed my eyes shut, taking in a deep breath, and remained still for a few seconds before snapping my eyes back open.
That seemed to work as I started to make out a few things in the room, I got to realize that it wasn’t a room but rather a warehouse, it was extremely large and empty, except for the few trashes littered around.
Suddenly, the huge figure slowly squatted before me, bringing his face closer to mine, and peered into my face.
A sharp gasp fled my mouth as I finally caught sight of his face.
It was no other than the lead warrior, Graham.
I should have known he was the mastermind of all this.
“Graham? What are you doing here? And what am I doing here as well?” My words came out in a low whisper.
“And if it isn’t the Almighty Elena who has turned our Alpha into a puppy,” he chuckled.
“Graham, I don’t know how I ended up here and I really don’t want to know, just please save me and you’ll be rewarded greatly by Killian,” I stared at him with pleading eyes.
Again, he roared into a fit of laughter, the sound of his voice pierced into my heart like a sharp dagger.
“Oh Elena, c’mon, I know you to be smarter than this,” he muttered amidst laughter. “You don’t know how you ended up here? Really now?”
“I don’t know Graham, I just want to leave here, I have missed my mating ceremony,” I replied.
He chuckled dryly, shaking his head. “You are really bothered about that? Your mating ceremony that could only be held in the afterlife?”
His words struck me like a bolt of heavy lightning, what does he mean by that?
“G… Graham?” My voice came out a stuttering mess. “What are you talking about? And why are you taking time to release me? We have no time,”
Suddenly, his face tightened into a deep frown and he inched forward, grabbing my jaw roughly, and stared into my face.
“Listen to me Elena, you don’t dare act dumb with me, I know you are aware that it’s me who brought you here,” he spat.
Of course, I was aware of that, but I just thought if I acted oblivious to the fact, then he might be moved to release me.
“Now you are going to drop that little act of yours or you’ll be lifeless in a second,”
I nodded frantically, my body trembling in fright.
He let go of my jaw just as rough as he had grabbed it, leaving me to endure the pain from my stinging jaw. When the pain had subsided a little bit, I raised my face to stare at him.
“Why are you doing this Graham? What have I ever done to you? What is my offense?” I cried.
“The real question is, why did you return to the pack?” He snapped.
“There is no reason behind it, I have told you countless times, I just heard that Killian has been searching all over for me and thought to return to him, that’s all,” I lied.
He roared into laughter, suddenly, he turned to me, and in a swift move, his hands came down heavy on my cheeks, striking me hard across the cheek.
A loud shrieking cry fled my mouth as the hard smack left a stinging pain on my cheeks shooting through my head.
“How dare you lie to me?” He growled.
“From the moment you stepped your feet back into the pack, I knew you were up to something, my instincts never fail me,” he began, his gaze fixed intently on me as he spoke.
“I started to keep a close eye on you long before the Alpha even suggested that I do,” my eyes flew wide open as his last words stung my ears.
“Killian did..”
“Oh there you go acting dumb again,” he cut me off with a mocking laughter. “Everyone knew you had something fishy going on, including your precious Killian,” he laughed.
I tried not to let his words get to me.
“It’s just a pity that he held onto that notion for a little while before letting himself drowned by the fake feelings you throw at him,”
What does he mean by fake feelings? Does he by any chance have a clue about my mission here?
“I know everything Elena, every single plan of yours,” his next words confirmed my thoughts.
“I have been with you through every second since you returned Elena, I am aware of your plans with the Alpha of the Greenwoods pack to take Alpha Killian’s life,” my eyes shot wide open as his words stabbed the walls of my ears.
“You look surprised,” he laughed.
“I had intended to hand over the situation to Alpha Killian but that would be me digging my own grave, he has been charmed by whatever lies you have been feeding him and he doesn’t believe anyone else except for you,”
“Graham, the situation is a lot more complicated than what you have heard, I wasn’t intending to kill him because of revenge, you have to under…”
He suddenly caught me off with a wave of his hand in the air. “I don’t want to hear it,”
“You have been a curse since you returned to the pack, a lot has been going on and Alpha Killian is too blinded by his love for you to save the pack,” he spat.
“He doesn’t want to be involved in the activities in the pack, all he wants is you!” His voice was beginning to turn into a loud-pitched yell.
“He has had Aria, his main Luna locked up without food and water since your disappearance,”
My head slowly bent over as the gravity of the situation began to dawn on me. Killian is suspecting Aria to be the mastermind behind my disappearance while the real culprit strolled freely around him.
I couldn’t blame him though, if Graham hadn’t revealed himself to me, a greater part of my suspicions was heaped on Aria. She was the only one who openly validated her hatred for me.
“Everything was perfect before your return Elena, and everything will be perfect again after I take you out from the surface of the earth, that way, you will never have to return,” I snapped my head up swiftly to stare at him as his words hit me like a sharp dagger through my ears.
