Killian’s POV.
I watched as the look of frustration on her face quickly disappeared and was replaced immediately, by that of mockery, her lips tugged up in a sly smirk. “You are absolutely nothing like I really used to think you are Killian, and I think everyone should know that,” her voice was laced with so much mockery as she spoke. “Look at you, completely a simp for that woman, you have your true Luna locked up because of her, I’m ashamed of the man you have become,”
I felt the anger at the tip of my stomach begin to stir but I managed to hold it down. “I don’t think you know the gravity of the mess you are in right now Aria, if you do, you’ll start spilling what I want to hear,” I said rather calmly.
She chuckled dryly. “I have told you, Killian, I have nothing to do with that wretched woman’s disappearance, and if you are still holding unto the belief that I do, you can easily make me swear on anything,”
“I don’t trust you to take an oath on anything Aria, no one knows you more than I do,” I fixed my gaze intently on hers as I continued. “You will gladly take the oath and still be telling a lie through your teeth because you have nothing to lose, so I’m comfortable with torturing you until you speak the truth,”
She released her hands from the iron bars and walked back into the dim darkness of the cell room and sunk to the floor. “I guess your mind is already made up, what are you still doing here then? Go ahead and let me rot away here,”
I stared at her confused about the next step to take. She seemed adamant to my threats and tortures. She wasn’t ready to spill whatever she knew about Elena’s disappearance.
“What are you still doing here? Or do you want to watch me die? That won’t be so bad,” her smug gaze never left mine as she spoke.
“Well, I guess you have to give up your daughter then, when I find Elena, she’s going to be a better mother to her, more than you ever were,” the words left my mouth before I could hold it back, and I almost regretted it but seeing the sudden look on her face, I was glad I said that.
“You monster,” she rose yet again from the floor and stumbled towards me. “Don’t you dare take away my daughter from me! I will take anything but not that!” She growled, her eyes sparkled in fury.
Dang! I got her right where I needed.
“Why do you seem so angry? I thought you preferred to rather die than speak the truth about Elena huh? Well, Emily is going to need someone to take care of her when you are gone, right?” It was turn to speak with so much sarcasm and mockery while she, in turn, fumed in anger.
“You will not take away my child from me Killian, she’s mine,” her voice was beginning to quiver now.
“That won’t be necessary if you speak the truth that I demand from you,”
“I have told you, I have nothing to do with her disappearance, how else do you want me to prove it to you?” She growled.
“You are lying Aria, I can tell,”
She let out a loud howl of frustration, her hands on the iron bar shivered in fury and her eyes on mine simmered with resentment and rage. “I told you I have nothing to do with it, it’s up to you if you don’t want to believe me but don’t you dare bring my daughter into this,”
It’s obvious she still needed a lot more time to be tortured so she could finally tell the truth.
“I see you are enjoying the comfort of the cell, well, have fun,” I spat, turning away from her and started heading away.
“Do not touch my daughter, she’s mine and not yours,” her voice echoed through the cell room.
I halted in my track and snapped my head around to look at her, “Emily is mine just as she is yours, she’s our daughter,”
“She’s not yours, she’s my daughter! You have no right to take her away from me!”
I ignored her and proceeded to walk out of the cell room.
I was trying so hard to control my anger, she dared say Emily isn’t mine?
A child we produced together?
Even though I rejected Emily initially, right now, I have come to love her beyond words, she was the only hope that kept me alive when things seemed to be going downhill just like it was right now.
She is mine and she will remain with me until Aria decides to speak the truth, even if it means telling Emily the truth about her mother.
“Get her some food and water,” I said to the nearby guards and stormed off.
As I dragged my heavy feet through the path leading back to the palace, I suddenly crossed paths with Graham who seemed to be hurrying off to somewhere from the way he hopped hastily, turning around at intervals.
I couldn’t help but wonder what his deal has been this past few days, he keeps acting strange.
“Graham?”
He jerked back in fright, turning around to face me.
“Alpha! I didn’t see you there,” he laughed nervously.
“I didn’t mean to scare you, but why were you walking and glancing around that way?” I asked. His eyes suddenly darted with fright, before it was replaced quickly with a small smile.
“Oh uh… The search for Elena has made me this way, same with the rest of the guards, we have been combing every grass in our territory, she could be found anywhere and we are making sure of that,” he replied.
I exhaled a deep breath. “Has there been any progress at least?”
“I’m sorry Alpha, but there isn’t for now, we have dedicated even midnights for the search but there has been no lead yet, however, if there’s anything, you’ll be the first to know,” he replied.
“It’s alright, I know you’re trying your best and I appreciate it, but you need to try harder,”
He nodded frantically.
“You may go,” I waved him off and walked away.
