Killian’s POV.
I made my way out of the house with only one direction in my mind
Aria’s chambers.
Just as I was about to walk out of the door, I heard my name from behind.
It was my mom.
“Yes, mother?” I turned back to face her.
“Where are you headed looking so furious?” She asked.
I exhaled a deep breath, skeptical about telling her what I had in mind because definitely, she would advise against it.
“You have Aria in mind, don’t you? That’s where you are headed,” she said before I could even utter a word.
“Mom, I know it’s out of place to accuse Aria of Elena’s disappearance but you know how Aria has been towards her, she might know something,”
“You have a point son, Aria disliked her with so much passion, but then again, do you have any proof to back up your claims? You can’t just place accusations without a solid proof,” she replied.
“Even if I don’t have proof yet, it still doesn’t change the fact that Aria knows something, I can feel it strongly Mom, and I can’t let it go because I don’t have proof yet,”
“Whatever you do, please don’t make the wrong decision out of anger, please Killian,”
“I’m just going to get the truth out of her, nothing else,” I replied.
“And how do you plan to do that?” She raised her brows at me.
“I’m going over to her chambers right now and I will demand the truth, I won’t be violent unless she proves adamant,”
“There’s nothing I can do to change your mind, is there?” She stared at me with a pleading look but I quickly looked away.
If I stared at her longer than two seconds, I might not be able to go ahead with my plan and I couldn’t afford that.
“I have to go, Mom, I’ll be right back,” I quickly turned around and headed out.
My heavy footsteps echoed against the floor as I strolled towards Aria’s chambers, my emotion, a mix of fury and uncertainty.
As much as I was confident that she was guilty, there was also a tiny voice in my head that wondered if she was innocent.
But then, I wasn’t prepared to back off, I was determined to get to the root of this situation and save my mate. Nothing else mattered to me.
I got to the front of her chamber and without warning, I pushed the door open and barged in right away.
My heart melted immediately as I saw her sleeping on the couch with Emily lying on her, sleeping so soundly.
Oh no! Not now, please.
If it was Aria alone sleeping I would have woken her up in the most roughest way, but my little girl lying on her, deep asleep was too adorable to disrupt, I couldn’t bring myself to disturb her.
At the same time, I didn’t want to go back without achieving my aim.
I stood still with different thoughts running through my head, while I gazed at them.
Suddenly, just as if she noticed my presence, she slightly, then her eyes snapped open.
“Killian, what the hell?”
“Don’t say another word, take Emily to the room, don’t wake her up,” I sounded strictly.
She stared at me without moving an inch.
“Do it!” I gritted, resisting the urge to scream in her face.
Reluctantly, she stood up, gently picking Emily, and headed inside.
I was tempted to track behind her, to make sure she doesn’t escape but I decided against it, she couldn’t possibly escape from me.
Shortly afterward, she walked out of the room and faced me.
“What brings you here?” She asked, her gaze matching mine. I was surprised by her confidence but it is only going to last a minute.
“Step outside now,” I said, and without waiting for her response, I turned around and headed out. Again, surprisingly, she traced behind me, her footsteps firm and her gaze void of emotions.
Was she putting up this act to lure me into believing that she was innocent? If that is the case then she is terribly mistaken.
“Aria, all I need from you is nothing but the truth, where is my mate?” I blurted once we were outside, safe from the hearing of Emily.
She chuckled, shaking her head. “And why exactly am I in the position to answer that? Was she ever a friend of mine? Why would I know her whereabouts?”
“I already told you this, I do not know anything about her disappearance, you need to stop pointing accusing fingers at me,” she continued.
From the way she firmly spoke, and the neutral look on her face, blocking away her emotions from being read, I could tell that she had prepared thoroughly for this. She knew I was going to come back.
I hurled my palm into a tight fist, anger beginning to course through me but I needed to control myself, it wasn’t time to get violent. Though I didn’t know how much longer I could control myself.
“I’m going to ask you again Aria, for the last time if you don’t want this to get messy, where is Elena? What the fuck have you done to her?” I growled.
“Listen,” my voice began to tone down to a softer one as I stepped closer to her. “You have a chance to be forgiven and not get punished if you speak up now, do the needful,”
She suddenly bursted into laughter, her voice filtered into my ears like a prickling needle stabbing me repeatedly.
“Have you not thought that she might have left by herself after realizing that she doesn’t have a place here anymore? You now have a Luna and a beautiful daughter, there is no space for her in your life Killian, she might have realized that and left in shame,” her voice dripped with mockery as she spoke.
Before I could hold myself back, my hands circled around her neck, gripping tightly. “How dare you speak so lowly of her? Have you not noticed? You are the one who doesn’t have a space in my life,” I spat into her face.
“And I have tried to be lenient with you, but obviously, you do not prefer that, I am now left with no choice but to take it up from here,” my grip on her loosened and I stepped away from her.
I turned to the guards that I had come with.
“Seize her, lock her up, and make sure doesn’t have anything to eat or drink until she is ready to say the truth,” I instructed.
They quickly lunged towards her, each grabbing her arms forcefully.
“No, you can’t treat me like this Killian, I have told you, I am innocent, what have I done to deserve all this humiliation from you?” She screamed as they started to drag her away.
My gaze met hers as they dragged her away. You chose this for yourself Aria, you are going to remain locked up until you say the truth, I don’t care if you starve to death!”
