Killian’s POV.
“How shameless can you be, Killian!” Aria barged into my room, yelling at the top of her voice.
A frustrated groan fled my lips as the unexpected noise filtered into my head, distracting me from my chain of thoughts.
“You don’t dare barge into my room like that Aria.” I gritted, trying hard to control my anger.
“I have every right to come into your room anytime I feel like it, I mean, Elena can sleep over right?” Her hands flew to her waist, now standing at akimbo.
I drew out a long sigh.
I had absolutely nothing to say to her, not with everything going on in my head.
I was more concerned about my present predicament and the complications surrounding me than her flimsy outbursts.
“I am your wife, Killian, but I am not allowed into your room but Elena who just returned a few days ago can easily come in and leave as she pleases,” she continued.
Having absolutely no intention of listening to any more of her rants, I stood up and headed towards the door. “I don’t have time for this.”
She moved swiftly to stand before me, blocking me away from the door. “Did you sleep with her?” Her dagger glares shot fiercely into my eyes.
“Aria, what do you want?” I breathed out in frustration.
“I want an explanation, Killian! To all of this. Tell me why I can’t have my husband all to myself! Tell me why I constantly have to share you with her!” She yelled.
I scoffed dryly as she ranted angrily.
“Point of correction Aria, you are not sharing me with Elena, she owns me, I have always been hers.” I snapped, my gaze matching up with hers. “You knew all of that and you still pushed yourself on me, whatever you feel is solely your concern and not mine.” I brushed past her and headed towards the door.
“You are going to see her right now, aren’t you?” She whimpered and I halted on the track, turning back around to face her.
“Matter of fact, yes, do you have a problem with me going to see the woman I love huh?”
“Killian, this isn’t good for Emily.” She stared at me with pleading eyes.
“That is where you are wrong, this is perfect because Elena will be the perfect mother to Emily, and do you want to know the most amazing part? Emily loves her already.” Mockery was evident in my voice as I spoke. That seemed to irk her as she flared up in anger. “No one is taking away my child from me, I’d rather die than let it happen!”
I further ignored her and proceeded to leave the room.
There was only one location in my head and that was Elena’s house. I needed answers.
It was high time she explained to me what exactly has been going on with her since her return.
Ever since she stormed out of my room earlier, I have been restless. What could be the reason for her sudden strange reaction?
After how intense last night was, the least I expected was such an outburst. It was almost as if she was different from the person I had in my arms last night screaming my name and pleading for me to take her.
It felt like she regretted what happened between us last night from the look on her face, she was to even stare at me in the eyes.
I was terribly hurt and disturbed by her actions no doubt, but I couldn’t bring myself to let her go. I could sense that something was pricking at her and I needed to find out. Maybe she might need help, who knows? Was she been threatened?
I needed to find out why those eyes that held love and compassion last night now held nothing but regret and coldness.
I finally got to her front door. I stood still for several seconds contemplating my next move. Do I just adhere to her earlier request and let go of her or do I fight for us? I can’t give up on us like that, right?
Even if I wanted to, a greater part of me was fixated on finding out what was bugging her and trying to make an attempt to fix it.
I knew definitely that there was a reason why she’s been acting strangely since her return, and there was no better time to find out than now. It could be something that I did without my knowledge.
Could she be offended that I moved too fast with her? Could she be expecting that I considered her feelings and waited for her to fully come to terms with her emotions before going down with her last night? But I was certain that she wanted it as much as I did. I felt her burning desires in every touch of her skin against mine, her tender kisses and soft moans conveyed the message of her willingness.
But then, on a second thought, maybe I was wrong, it could be that I was drowned in my own emotions that I misinterpreted her.
If it was, I am willing to go on my knees and plead for her forgiveness.
I exhaled a deep breath and placed a knock on the door.
As I waited for a response, my heart raced rapidly, I couldn’t help but rack through my head for the possible word of apology that would erase her anger in a second.
Finally, the door flew open revealing the adorable face of the only woman my heart beats for.
No woman matched up to her beauty in my eyes.
“Killian?” Her moistened plump lips parted slightly as she mentioned my name. “What are you doing here?”
For a moment, I was lost in her beauty, totally lost for words.
“Killian?” I quickly snapped out of my trance as she mentioned my name again.
“Uhm… I wanted to…”
“With all due respect, Alpha, please leave my house.” She cut in, her voice as cold as her face.
“Elena, I know you don’t want me here, but if you could please tell me where I have gone wrong?”
“When you are tired of standing here, you can leave.” She turned around to leave but I quickly inched forward and grabbed her hand turning her swiftly to face me. Her gaze was everywhere but my face. “You are avoiding the question, Elena, tell me what I’ve done wrong and I’ll leave.”
“So many things have gone wrong, Killian, it has nothing to do with you henceforth, so please I need you to leave.” I instinctively caught the fright in her voice. It suddenly dawned on me, she hadn’t been cold, nor confused towards me, she was scared. And she’s been masking it with the cold look.
“Elena what’s going on, you are scared of something, I can sense it,” I shook her slightly as if trying to plug the truth out of her.
“Talk to me please, I promise to make it all go away,”
She didn’t utter a word, instead, she gazed softly at me with those innocent eyes that had captivated me right from the first day I set my eyes on her.
And that moment, I did the most foolish thing anyone wouldn’t do at the moment, but I couldn’t help myself.
I closed the distance between us, leaning in, and claimed her lips in a sloppy passionate kiss.
