The wedding became much livelier after the media arrived.
Davian arrived late and spotted Bridger in a bright suit, standing out in the crowd.
“What’s going on? It’s so lively, not Nelson’s style.”
Bridger crossed his arms and said thoughtfully, “I think he never took this wedding seriously from the start.”
He didn’t even consider it a real wedding.
Davian patted his shoulder and went straight to the backstage. In a specially reserved room, Nelson sat in the main seat, listening to Bridger’s report. When he saw Davian, he raised an eyebrow.
Davian nodded, “Nelson, Oconnor Group’s stock has hit the limit down. As long as this wedding goes on, everything will be fine.”
There would be no more obstacles.
Nelson’s ambition to expand his territory was about to be realized.
Hearing this, Bridger chimed in, “Great, this means Owen’s plan to acquire shares will fall through.”
Nelson didn’t show any joy at the news. He frowned as if deep in thought.
Bridger and Davian exchanged a glance. “He doesn’t seem happy?”
Nelson didn’t show any sign of discomfort and pressed his hand to his brow. “Let’s wait and see.”
His ambiguous answer made Bridger feel uneasy.
Outside the room, Sienna was passing by quickly, holding her phone.
“We lost them! How could we lose them! Didn’t I tell you to watch them!”
“… The opposing force was too strong, madam, we were no match!”
“Which force?”
Upon learning that the people escorting Karlee were Callie’s brother’s men, Sienna was confused. Now they had lost them completely!
“During the confrontation, I seemed to see a character embroidered on their clothes. It was Oconnor.”
Sienna stopped in her tracks immediately. “Oconnor?”
“Oconnor Group, I think.”
Sienna’s mind buzzed instantly.
Nelson’s men? What exactly was he up to? Her mind was a jumble of thoughts she couldn’t untangle.
“Madam, what should we do now?”
“Withdraw. You can’t beat Nelson’s men.”
After hanging up the phone, Sienna leaned against the wall, trying to make sense of it all.
When she noticed something off about Charlotte, she had someone investigate her past. Strangely, her history had been completely rewritten since high school; nothing from before could be found.
She hired a detective to look into her college records and discovered she had an alias, Holly.
This led her to uncover most of it and find her former friend Karlee.
The day she knew Karlee arrived in Ylosea, Sienna found it odd. Coincidentally, she ran into Callie at the same place…
Could it be that Callie had met Karlee that day?
What did she see Karlee for? What did she find out?
Why was Karlee now mixed up with her brother Joaquin? What were they planning?
Now Nelson was involved too…
Sienna stood there with a surge of unease, unsure how to face it.
She calmed herself for a moment, picked up her phone again, and dialed the Ellison family’s landline.
“Madam?” The maid answered.
“Where is Ahmad? Please have him answer the phone.”
“Please hold on.”
The maid returned shortly. “Madam, you might need to wait. Sir isn’t in the study or the bedroom. I’m looking for him!”
“What do you mean he’s not there? Where is he?” Sienna raised her voice unconsciously.
