Clearly, Joaquin did not know the reason behind Callie’s actions.
But Nelson had learned everything. He quickly connected the dots, feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt wash over him.
He laughed softly, standing there as if he were the loneliest person in the world. Soon, a destructive sense of revenge surged within him, almost consuming him.
Anthony had retrieved his phone. “Sienna’s people are not top-notch. They probably thought this matter was secret and wouldn’t be discovered. We’ve already captured them, but there’s bad news. Another team is tracking us. What should we do now?”
“Find a way to shake them off. Take Joaquin and Karlee back to Ylosea as quickly as possible,” the man’s voice was decisive and cold.
“Understood.”
From the Ellison family estate to the hotel, the entire route was lined with flowers and a red carpet, making a grand display. This wedding, along with the soaring stock price of Oconnor Group, which had now plummeted, was significant for both families.
The wedding was held at a hotel owned by the Ellison family, which was cleared out entirely for the day to host only their guests.
The attendees were all relatives of both families, along with business partners and employees. The crowd was large, and the scene was grand.
Upon arrival, the bodyguards noticed many media reporters secretly taking photos and asked how to handle them.
Nelson’s expression was indifferent. “On such a big day, sneaking around isn’t good. Invite them all in.”
Sienna, who was beside him, frowned. “Nelson, that’s not appropriate.”
“Sienna,” he glanced at her, his tone calm. “With so many guests today, there are bound to be some who slip in. Instead of blocking them, why not let them in? It’s a good day to celebrate together. Don’t you agree?”
His reasoning was sound. Sienna was silent for a moment before agreeing. “Today is your wedding after all. Arrange it as you see fit.”
Nelson watched her walk away, lost in thought.
Soon, the media entered, making the wedding even more grandiose.
Meanwhile, the bald man went out and returned with a large television, placing it in front of Callie. After some fiddling, he finally got a picture.
Callie squinted at the screen. It was a live broadcast. Amidst the bustling crowd, she immediately spotted the man welcoming guests.
He was dressed in formal attire, standing tall and elegant beside Charlotte, engaging politely with the guests.
Charlotte wore a traditional dress, looking graceful and serene by his side, complementing each other perfectly.
Callie’s pupils contracted slightly.
She had imagined this scene many times but never thought that seeing it for real would stir such emotions within her.
It still hurt.
“So beautiful…” the bald man murmured as he watched.
Callie caught his words and raised an eyebrow. “You like her?”
The bald man turned and almost slapped her. “Don’t talk nonsense.”
Callie wasn’t afraid at all. “You don’t even dare to admit it. Are you even a man?”
The bald man waved his hand dismissively. “Mind your own business. But you, your ex-husband is getting married. Are you regretting it now?”
Callie smirked. “I don’t care. At least I slept with him. You? You don’t even dare to confess because you know Charlotte doesn’t like you. If she knew, she would only feel disgusted and stay away from you.”
Her words hit home. The bald man’s face turned pale and then flushed before he finally lowered his hand.
“As long as she’s happy.”
Pathetic, she thought.
