Chapter 1237

Book:Surprised With Her Real Identities Published:2025-3-27

“Mr. Crosby, I have to rehearse tonight. There are nine songs in total that I need to learn, right? So…” Carlee explained with a forced smile, not daring to offend Kelton.
Kelton was notorious for his lecherous behavior. Everyone knew what it meant when he asked her to his room.
Carlee, having been in the industry for over a decade, was highly sensitive to such matters. She had built her career not through unspoken rules or selling herself for resources but through her vocal talent and hard work.
She particularly despised investors who tried to take advantage of her. The blatant suggestion to go to his room made her feel disgusted, though she couldn’t show it on her face.
Kelton had some influence and was rumored to be interested in investing in the show “Winning with Dreams.” After all, everyone at Urgford knew that the world’s richest man had come to Urgford TV station to invest in this program. It was bound to be a hit.
Kelton not only wanted to invest in the show but also wanted to be a judge. However, he didn’t know Donald and had been trying to arrange a dinner with him to build a relationship and get his approval to participate.
Feeling humiliated by Carlee’s rejection, Kelton angrily grabbed her hand and pulled her close. “Carlee, do you still want to make it in Urgford? Do you even know who I am?”
Carlee struggled to break free. “Mr. Crosby, please respect yourself!”
Kelton reeked of alcohol, and his breath was even worse. “Respect? What does that mean? I’m telling you, tonight you will come with me whether you want to or not. Let’s go!”
“Let go of me! Let go of me!” Carlee, small and frail at barely over five feet tall, was no match for Kelton’s strength.
As Kelton dragged her out, Carlee looked desperately at Hillary for help.
Abbigail hesitated but was about to intervene when Stanley stopped her. “Let me handle this. Leonard, let’s go!”
Leonard also despised Kelton’s disgusting behavior. It was outrageous that he would try to take Carlee away right in front of them.
Before they could act, a figure moved like a whirlwind. The next moment, a scream echoed through the room.
Everyone was stunned, eyes wide with shock.
Sylvia had appeared in front of Kelton, grabbed his hand, and twisted it behind his back with a snap!
Kelton’s arm was dislocated…
“You! Who are you? How dare you break my arm? Do you want to die?” Kelton shouted furiously. “I’m the president of the Crosby Corporation. Do you know who I am?”
“I don’t know who you are. I only know you’re a creep,” Sylvia said calmly before pushing him forward. Kelton stumbled and fell heavily to the ground in an undignified manner.
His subordinates rushed over to help him, but he screamed in pain when they touched his arm. “It hurts! Don’t touch my arm!”
Sylvia glanced at him coldly. “Carlee doesn’t want to go with you. Understand? I don’t mind teaching you how to understand human language.”
Kelton glared at her but was momentarily captivated by her beauty. How could such a beautiful woman exist?
He hadn’t noticed her before when she stood behind Leonard and the others.
Now, he found her stunning and lecherously smiled as he held out a room card with his uninjured hand. “If Carlee won’t come with me, you can. This is my room card.”
“It seems dislocating one arm wasn’t enough for you to learn your lesson,” Sylvia sneered before moving swiftly again.
A blood-curdling scream pierced the night as Kelton writhed in pain on the ground.
Everyone felt a chill run down their spines as they saw Sylvia’s foot on Kelton’s calf. They heard the distinct sound of bones snapping.
Had she dislocated his ankle too?
“Please, spare Mr. Crosby!” his subordinates pleaded. “He may be lecherous, but he hasn’t done anything truly bad.”
The night wind gently tousled Sylvia’s hair as she looked like a goddess of the night, her gaze icy as it swept over them. She lifted her foot. “Take him back and find a doctor to reset his dislocated joints.”
“Yes, yes!” The subordinates quickly lifted Kelton and ran out.
Kelton cursed through his pain, “Sylvia, you’ll pay for this! Don’t think I’ll let you off just because you’re pretty!”
Though Sylvia’s actions were satisfying, Carlee still felt uneasy. She looked at Sylvia with sincere gratitude but also concern. “Thank you for helping me. But offending Kelton might make our lives difficult from now on. If he retaliates against you because of this, I won’t be able to sleep peacefully.”
“It’s nothing; he’s just trash,” Sylvia said nonchalantly. “During my teenage years, your songs ‘Invisible Feathers,’ ‘Walking Forward in the Rain,’ and ‘Dear That is Love’ helped me through tough times.”
Though Sylvia’s face remained expressionless, there was a fierce glint in her eyes. “I can’t stand anyone ruining what was once beautiful to me.”
Anyone who did would face her wrath.
Carlee stared at her in astonishment, her amber eyes wide. “I never expected…”
Sylvia had once been her fan.
“Regardless, Sylvia and Carlee, you two should avoid Kelton from now on,” Abbigail said worriedly. “He’s cunning and ruthless. He made his fortune through underhanded means.”
As night fell deeper, they hurriedly left the private restaurant, grateful for its privacy.
Meanwhile, Kelton was nearly unconscious from the pain as his subordinates found an already closed bone-setting clinic known for its excellent work.
The master there had been asleep but was woken up by Kelton’s men.
“Master, please help Mr. Crosby!” one of them urged as they saw Kelton sweating profusely and breathing heavily.
The master slowly put on his glasses and examined Kelton’s dislocated arm and ankle.
“How did both your arm and leg get dislocated? That’s unusual,” he remarked.
“Just fix it! We don’t care how it happened,” one of the subordinates snapped.
“Alright, alright,” the master said as he grabbed Kelton’s arm and snapped it back into place with a loud crack.
Kelton screamed in agony. “It hurts!”
“Of course it does. It hurt when it dislocated; it’ll hurt when it’s fixed,” the master replied before moving on to his leg. This time, Kelton braced himself but still screamed when the master reset his ankle.
“Do you want it fixed or not? If not, leave now,” the master said irritably.
“Fix it,” Kelton groaned through gritted teeth as sweat poured down his face.
With another snap and another scream from Kelton, the master finished his work.
Kelton’s men quickly paid double the fee, which improved the master’s mood slightly. After all, being woken up in the middle of the night wasn’t pleasant.
Kelton walked a few steps and swung his arm. “Much better!”
