Altar

“I do.”
The words spilled from Priya’s lips as she stood at the altar with Priyank.
Six months had passed, and so much had changed.
They had returned to their normal life with Daisy and Mary. The battles, the burdens-they were behind her now. She still remembered the conversation she had with Maya six months ago when she told her it was better for ‘her’ to lead the pack. Priya had never wanted that responsibility. She only wanted to live a simple, normal life.
Maya had disagreed at first, but eventually, she understood Priya’s choice and accepted it.
Since then, Priya and Priyank had stepped away from the chaos and reclaimed the life they once had. And today, standing before everyone, was proof of how far they had come-because today was their wedding day.
“You may now kiss the bride,” the priest announced.
Priyank’s smile stretched wide as he leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. “Can I?” His hands rested gently on her waist, his touch reverent.
He still couldn’t believe this was real. That today, he was marrying ‘his’ Angel. After everything, he was standing here-getting his happy ending.
The woman who had pulled him from darkness, who had given him a light he never thought he would have-was now his ‘wife’.
“You still need to ask?” Priya lightly smacked his shoulder, her eyes glimmering with mischief.
Priyank chuckled. “Well, my mom and your mother Mary are watching us. I thought you might get shy.”
“Why would I be shy? You’re my ‘husband’ now,” she said before pulling him closer, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
He groaned dramatically. “Clearly, you ‘are’ shy. Otherwise, that kiss would’ve been on the lips.”
Before Priya could retort, Maya’s voice cut in. “Are you two going to melt right here, or can we move on with the wedding?”
Laughter rippled through their gathered family.
Maya, Jackson, Levi, Rish, Lima-everyone was here. And as Priya looked at them, warmth swelled in her chest.
For so long, she had been alone, an orphan with no place to belong.
But now?
Now, she ‘had’ a family.
Priyank smirked, turning back to Maya. “Melt? How can I melt when I ‘am’ my own fire?”
Mary, standing beside them, crossed her arms. “You better treat my daughter right.”
Priyank winked. “You know the lore.”
It had taken a long time for Mary to agree to this wedding. And why wouldn’t it? After all the ‘shitty’ things he had done, winning over Priya’s family had not been easy.
But he had proved himself.
And now, he had everything he ever wanted-everything he ‘never’ thought he deserved.
His Angel. His home. His ‘forever’.
With a grin, he pulled Priya flush against him. “No more running, no more waiting,” he murmured. “You’re mine now.”
Priya rolled her eyes. “I was always yours, idiot.”
And this time, when she kissed him, it was on the lips-deep, slow, and filled with every unspoken promise of their future.
The reception was nothing short of ‘chaotic bliss’.
Laughter and music filled the air as guests celebrated, eating, drinking, and dancing without a care. It wasn’t some stiff, traditional wedding-it was wild, loud, and full of life. Exactly how Priya and Priyank wanted it.
Levi, dressed in an elegant midnight blue gown, was ‘absolutely’ not acting like a lady. She had already dragged Rish and Jackson to the dance floor, challenging them to a dance-off while Maya watched from the sidelines, shaking her head in fond exasperation.
“Levi, ‘this’ is your sister’s wedding,” Maya reminded, hands on her hips.
Levi spun dramatically. “And? It’s also a ‘party’, Mom! Don’t be jealous that you can’t move like me.”
Rish snorted. “Move like you? You just tripped over your own dress.”
Levi gasped, offended. “It was a ‘calculated’ move.”
Priya, standing by Priyank, burst into laughter, leaning into him as she watched the madness unfold. “I swear, she was ‘born’ for chaos.”
Priyank smirked, pressing a kiss to her temple. “And you ‘weren’t’?”
Before she could respond, Lima suddenly appeared, dragging them both toward the dance floor. “No standing around! It’s your wedding! Dance, lovebirds!”
Priyank didn’t even resist-he ‘lived’ to pull Priya into his arms. With a cocky smirk, he twirled her effortlessly, making her squeal before dipping her low.
“You better not drop me,” she warned.
“Angel,” he whispered, grinning, “I would ‘never’ let you fall.”
She rolled her eyes, but her heart ‘fluttered’.
As the night went on, the party only got wilder. Someone had spiked the drinks (Jackson swore it ‘wasn’t’ him, which meant it ‘was’ him), and Maya had eventually given up pretending she wasn’t enjoying herself.
Daisy and Mary are enjoying themselves too.
Priya found herself surrounded by love, laughter, and a family she never thought she would have.
And as Priyank pulled her in for another kiss, dipping her dramatically-because ‘of course’ he did-she knew one thing for sure.
She was happy. ‘Truly, finally happy.’
As the night stretched on, the celebrations only grew wilder. But Priyank had his eyes on one thing-‘his wife.’
Priya was still laughing from something Levi had said when she felt his hand slide down her back, fingers grazing her waist. A shiver ran through her as he leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear.
“We should leave,” he murmured, his voice low, deep-‘dangerous.’
She turned her head slightly, smirking. “Why? The party’s still going.”
His grip on her waist tightened just enough to make her breath hitch. “‘Exactly.'”
A slow heat coiled in her stomach as he started guiding her toward the exit. No one paid much attention-most were too busy dancing or drinking. Still, as they passed, Maya arched a brow but said nothing, only smirking knowingly.
Priya’s cheeks burned, but she didn’t stop walking.
As soon as they stepped outside, the cool night air hit her skin, but it did nothing to cool the fire growing inside her.
“Where are we going?” she asked as Priyank pulled her toward a sleek black car waiting just outside.
“Somewhere private,” he said simply, opening the door for her.
She slid in, her pulse quickening as he followed, shutting the door behind them.
The moment they were alone, silence wrapped around them-heavy, charged.
Priyank turned to her, his gaze dark, intense. “I’ve been waiting ‘all night’ to get you alone, Angel.”
Her breath caught as he reached for her, his hand tilting her chin up.
“Then don’t wait anymore,” she whispered.
That was all he needed. His lips crashed onto hers, ‘claiming’ her completely.
The moment Priyank’s lips claimed hers, the world outside ceased to exist.
The heat between them was instant, undeniable. His hands roamed her body, gripping her waist as he pulled her onto his lap. The car was dark, the night outside offering only the faintest glow of streetlights, but she could *feel* everything-his body, his warmth, the desperate hunger in his touch.
“Angel,” he groaned against her lips, his voice rough, almost pained. “You drive me insane.”
“First, take me home. I don’t want my first night to be in the car.”
Priyank chuckled, his hands still gripping her thighs as she straddled him. His forehead rested against hers, his breath warm against her lips.
“As much as I’d love to take you right here, right now,” he murmured, nipping at her lower lip, “I want to make this perfect for you.”
Priya rolled her eyes, but the heat in her cheeks betrayed her. “Then *drive,* husband.”
Priyank smirked, his hands reluctantly letting go of her as he shifted back into the driver’s seat. He started the car, one hand on the wheel, the other resting possessively on her thigh.
The ride back was silent, but the tension crackled between them. Every red light was another chance for him to slide his fingers a little higher, another opportunity for his gaze to linger on her lips. By the time they pulled into the driveway, Priya was practically vibrating with anticipation.
She barely had a second to step out before he was on her again, sweeping her into his arms as he carried her toward their home.
“I *can* walk, you know,” she teased.
“I know,” he said, pushing the door open with his foot. “But carrying my wife feels right.”
He didn’t stop once they were inside. He carried her straight to their bedroom, kicking the door shut behind him.
The moment he set her down, Priya turned to face him, her heart pounding. The dim lighting cast shadows across his face, making his dark eyes burn even deeper.
She swallowed. “So… now what?”
Priyank’s lips curved into a slow, lazy smirk as he stepped closer, caging her between his arms. His fingers traced the thin straps of her dress, sliding them down her shoulders.
“Now,” he murmured, his breath ghosting over her lips, “I make you mine completely.”
His mouth captured hers in a deep, searing kiss, and she melted into him, her hands threading through his hair as his fingers trailed down her spine. The night was only beginning.
“And I’m going to let you make me yours.”
Priya’s voice was soft but certain, her eyes locked onto his with unwavering trust.
Priyank’s breath hitched. He had waited for this moment-imagined it countless times-but hearing her say it, seeing the way she looked at him with that quiet confidence, unraveled him completely.
His fingers traced her jaw, tilting her chin up as he pressed his lips to hers-slow at first, savoring, before deepening the kiss with a hunger he could no longer restrain.
“I’m going to take my time.”
