Leilani found herself in the grocery store the following day, making her way to the checkout. However, her attention was diverted to a couple nearby, intimately holding hands and exchanging quick kisses while selecting their grocery items.
Involuntarily, her mind wandered back to the previous night, causing her face to flush with embarrassment. The make-out session with Nelson had been nothing short of incredible, and she couldn’t wait for more. It had been the best night of her life so far, and she desperately craved for more.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” the cashier’s voice interrupted her thoughts, bringing her back to reality.
“Ah, sorry about that,” Leilani chuckled nervously while handing over her card.
After the transaction was completed, Leilani gathered her things and prepared to leave the store. Just as she was stepping outside, a man in a hoodie approached her. However, he wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings and ended up bumping into someone.
“My apologies, madam,” the man quickly apologized as he adjusted his cap and turned to walk away.
“Come back here, you imbecile!” the woman grabbed his cap and pulled him back, revealing his face.
“Ew,” she grimaced in disgust at the man’s appearance. One side of his face was swollen and covered in red dots, resembling chicken pox. Instantly, her anger boiled at the thought of being touched by someone with a contagious illness.
“You disgusting piece of trash! How dare you bump into me with your nauseous face? What if I catch a deadly disease from you?” the woman shrieked, rubbing her arms as if she had already caught something.
The man lowered his head in embarrassment and noticed Leilani still standing nearby. Adjusting his cap once again, he bowed his head in remorse, “I deeply apologize, ma’am. Please forgive me.”
“STOP APOLOGIZING!” the woman roared, throwing her paper bag to the ground, causing the contents to scatter everywhere.
Leilani couldn’t help but watch the scene unfold, feeling sorry for the man who had accidentally caused her annoyance.
As the man’s gaze slowly fell upon the woman, he couldn’t help but be taken aback. Her glossy golden locks cascaded over one shoulder, perfectly complementing her cream-colored ivory suit and stunning sapphire jewelry. She exuded a sense of grace and perfection.
“Don’t you get it?” The woman gritted her teeth as she spoke, giving off the air of a shrew. “The more you say sorry, the more aggravated I become. You, a filthy thing, bumped into me and you think a simple apology will suffice?”
“I would have slapped you across the face if you weren’t so hideous,” she continued.
Leilani, unable to contain her animosity any longer, interjected. “Stop being melodramatic and just accept his apology.”
The woman’s gaze traveled up and down Leilani’s figure before settling back on her face. “And who are you to interfere?” she asked coldly.
“Well, I’m someone who is tired of your bullsh*t,” Leilani retorted in a commanding tone, as if she had the situation under control. “It was his mistake for bumping into you and he has already apologized. What more do you want from him? Should he chop off his arm to prove his sincerity?”
The woman scoffed and shook her head in disbelief. She couldn’t believe that Leilani, a woman who clearly came from a well-to-do background, would stoop to involve herself in such petty matters.
Even the man, who had been the target of Leilani’s rescue, was surprised by her actions. He couldn’t help but sneak glances at her, wondering why she would voluntarily insert herself into this confrontation.
“Tell him to show his face, lady. Then you’ll see what I’m talking about. He’s so ugly and disgusting, I’ll have to soak myself for a whole night just to get his touch off my body!” the woman yelled.
“Then maybe you should just go home and take your soak,” Leilani replied nonchalantly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You can even pass away if you wish.”
The woman’s eyebrows furrowed in anger, shocked by Leilani’s boldness and confidence.
“Yes, you heard me correctly! It’s baffling how the rich folks constantly exude a sense of superiority over anyone who comes their way. It’s a behavior I can’t seem to understand,” Leilani frowned, her nose flaring with displeasure.
The woman, “Do you know who he is? Do you know if he is the son of our country’s president?”
“The president’s son would never have such a repulsive face. Before you judge me, make sure he shows you his true appearance, you lousy woman!” the wealthy lady interjected rudely.
Attempting to glimpse at the man’s face, Leilani noticed he only lowered his head even more. She couldn’t help but wonder if his face was truly as unappealing as the woman claimed.
“Even if he isn’t the president’s son, that doesn’t mean you can’t be indebted to him. He may save you from death or other misfortunes. Simply try to show kindness towards those around you, for your own sake. As they say, one good turn deserves another,” Leilani advised.
“Enough talking! I’m leaving,” the woman hissed, storming off in a fit of anger.
“Stupid woman,” Leilani muttered under her breath as she watched her drive away.
While Leilani was distracted by the woman’s departure, the hooded man couldn’t conceal his surprise.
But as soon as he noticed Leilani glancing his way, he swiftly concealed his face once again.
Leilani chuckled, “It’s fine. I am not curious to see your face anyways. And I apologize for that woman’s behavior. You know how these wealthy people, especially the women, can be.”
“One good turn deserves another. I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you for saving me, ma’am,” the man spoke with a slight bow before swiftly turning away before Leilani could respond.

“What did you say?” Ariel’s eyes widened with disbelief as she uttered through clenched teeth.
“I couldn’t go through with it, madam. She was a kind woman who didn’t deserve to die. I’m sorry,” Wang apologized, bowing his head in shame.
Ariel exhaled sharply, her fingers gripping onto a tangled mess of her hair.
She paced relentlessly, her fists clenching and unclenching with fervor.
“You wretched scoundrel!” she seethed, lunging forward with a punch towards Wang, who remained motionless.
“Explain yourself – what do you mean you were unable to complete the task? Have you lost all senses?” she bellowed furiously.
“One good turn deserves another, madam. As a gesture of goodwill, I shall pay back your funds. My sincere apologies once again, and do have a good night’s rest,” Wang replied with a slight bow before departing.
Ariel scoffed in disbelief, her mouth agape as she watched his figure vanish into the darkness.
