“What the hell do you think you are doing?!” David bellowed, standing up and forcefully pushing Herbert away from Hannah.
“My goodness gracious!” Hannah exclaimed, rushing to grab on to Herbert, whose body was now pressed against the car from the force of the push.
“What are you doing with my girlfriend, you scoundrel?” David growled, attempting to lunge at Herbert once more, but Hannah stepped in between them.
“Stop this madness, David. Have you lost your mind?!” Hannah snapped at him. “What is the meaning of this?”
“I should be asking you the same question, Hannah. What are you doing? And what is this son of a bitch doing with you?” David inquired, his anger barely contained.
Herbert simply scoffed and remained silent.
“I see that your sense has completely abandoned you, blinded by your unruly hair. How dare you push my man like that?” Hannah bellowed, her fury evident on her face. She had the urge to give David a hard slap for what he did to Herbert.
David let out a sigh and tried to calm down. “I know you’re still angry with me, babe, but you can’t just leave me like that. You love me too much, Hannah.”
“That was before, you fool! Can’t you understand? I have moved on from you and your nonsense. This man is now my partner!” Hannah declared, speaking the bitter truth to David’s face.
Directly, David felt his heart sink to his stomach.
“That’s enough, darling. Let’s get going,” Herbert finally spoke, securing Hannah’s hand in his and heading towards the car.
“If you take her to that car, I’ll make sure you’re picking your damn teeth up from the ground,” David threatened fiercely, his hands clenched into fists.
“And if you dare take another step towards us, I’ll send you back to where you came from, you feel me?” Herbert also warned, his expression still composed.
David furrowed his brow as he stared at Herbert, feeling something familiar about his face.
David was not afraid of Herbert, but he wasn’t entirely certain why. Perhaps it was due to the man’s fine appearance and noble demeanor, but the rest of his thoughts dissipated as he found himself speechless and slowly backing away.
He observed as Herbert opened the car door for Hannah, who quickly hopped in. Then, without hesitation, Herbert made his way to the driver’s seat and began driving recklessly as if wanting to hit David.
“Fucker,” David muttered as he could only watch in anger as the car sped away.

Nelson Carter entered Trevor’s room and, as usual, found Leilani helping him with his outfit. They were both laughing, and in that moment, they resembled a happy mother and son.
Nelson smiled. He had inexplicably grown fond of Leilani with each passing day. She surpassed all his expectations. She loved Trevor as if he were her own and would do anything to make him happy.
“Trevor, have you changed your mind?” Nelson asked gently, announcing his presence.
Trevor’s smile vanished as he knew exactly what his father was referring to.
“I’ve already told you, Daddy. I do not want to go out with that woman,” Trevor asserted firmly.
“But son, you said you would like to spend time with your mommy and daddy. No matter what Ariel has done, she is still your mother, Trevor,” Nelson advised in a gentle tone, getting closer and crouching down to his son’s height.
“You’re right, Daddy. The fact that she gave birth to me will never change, but I do not consider her my mother. From now on, I will only refer to Leilani as my mommy,” Trevor butted in, holding onto Leilani’s hand.
Leilani gasped softly, interjecting, “No, baby. You can’t do that. Ariel will always be your mother, and nothing can change that.”
“From now on, you are my mom, Leilani, and that’s what I’ll call you,” Trevor stated firmly, looking into Leilani’s eyes.
Leilani was left speechless, looking to Nelson for support. But even he didn’t have any words to say.
“Is that what you want, son?” Nelson asked, after a brief pause.
“Yes, Daddy. And I will only spend time with you and my new mommy. I don’t want that woman anywhere around me,” Trevor proclaimed.
Nelson nodded, grinning. Then he directed his attention to Leilani. “What are you doing, Mommy? Prepare yourself. We are all going out now,” he giggled, standing up.
“Ariel will never approve of this, Nelson,” Leilani expressed her concern.
“That is not something for you to fret over, Lani. You heard what Trevor just said. So if you have an objection, say it here in his presence,” Nelson shrugged.
Leilani sighed once more and gazed at Trevor, who was already fluttering his eyelashes appealingly at her.
Overwhelmed by the tears welling up in her eyes and the small chuckle that escaped her throat, Leilani embraced Trevor with her hands.
“How can I refuse you, my dear? You are too cute to say no to, and you know it,”
Trevor chuckled and returned her hug. “I love you, Mommy. Thank you for always making me happy.”
The tears in Leilani’s eyes flowed freely as she sniffled and responded, “And you know I love you more, my son.”
As Nelson watched them with adoration, he casually slipped his hands in his pocket and chuckled to himself.
Later that day, the three of them dined in a luxury restaurant, enjoying their lunch.
They had a delightful time exploring different places and indulging in some shopping. They even purchased matching accessories, which they planned to wear on their next outing as a united family.
Trevor discreetly laid down his utensils and cleared his throat, seeking their full attention.
“I have a question for both of you,” he stated, looking at them directly across the table.
“What is it, Trevor?” Leilani swallowed her food and inquired.
“Who fell in love with whom first?” Trevor asked, throwing the question at them.
Leilani coughed, while Nelson took a sip of water from his glass.
Trevor patiently awaited their response, his gaze shifting between them expectantly.
“Can one of you please answer my question?” Trevor arched an eyebrow, directing his attention to both Leilani and Nelson.
Leilani, in turn, looked to Nelson, seemingly expecting him to speak up.
“Well, it’s a rather complex matter, buddy. It might be difficult for you to understand,” Nelson stated calmly, taking another sip of his water.
“What do you mean complex, Dad? That’s not the response I was hoping for,” Trevor grumbled, reaching for his fork once more.
“What were you hoping for, dear?” Nelson chuckled.
“I don’t know, something like you rescuing Mom from a dreadful situation,” Trevor mused.
“You do have quite a vivid imagination, Trevor. Who taught you such things?”
While they continued to exchange playful banter, Leilani couldn’t shake off the familiar feeling of being watched. It was the same feeling she had when they were at the stores.
She glanced out the window, but the bustling view of cars outside revealed nothing out of the ordinary.
“Are you alright?” Nelson’s concerned voice and his gentle touch on her hand caused her to startle.
“Oh, you scared me,” she breathed a sigh of relief, placing a hand over her chest.
“What’s wrong? You look distracted,” Nelson asked, his worry evident.
She quickly shook her head and forced a smile.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine,” she reassured him. But just then, that unsettling feeling crept up again.
What’s happening? Were they really being watched, or was it just her overactive imagination?
