After finishing a simple dinner, Peter was picked up by the brothers of the Dark Night.
Sylvia and Franklin took the child directly back to the Hipps Family.
Queena was still in the hospital, but Mollie had been discharged.
Sylvia took Alex upstairs to see Mollie and the baby, who was sleeping soundly.
Newborn babies change every day. In just a few days, the baby had grown a bit and looked more like Clare.
Mollie said helplessly, “This child doesn’t look like me at all.”
Sylvia couldn’t help but laugh, “It doesn’t matter who the baby looks like, as long as they are healthy and safe.”
Alex stood on tiptoe at the bedside to look at the little one in the crib, “The baby is so cute. I want to hold it.”
Sylvia quickly walked over to him and bent down to look at the baby together, “You’re still too young to hold the baby. You have to be a good brother! You are a big brother now!”
Alex grinned happily, “Really? I’m a big brother now.”
Sylvia patted his little head and picked him up, holding him in her arms, “Yes! You are the baby’s big brother now, so you have to set a good example. You will have to learn many skills in the future.”
At that moment, the baby started crying.
The nanny immediately came over to check, “Oh dear, the baby needs a diaper change.”
Watching the nanny take care of the baby, Sylvia felt a sense of warmth.
Mollie looked at her bright smile and couldn’t help but say, “Sylvia, you have become much gentler.”
Sylvia smiled at her, “How so?”
“When I first met you, you were very cold and had a strong presence. Now you still have that strong presence, but it’s much softer.” Mollie tilted her head and smiled, “Maybe it’s because you used to be alone.”
Sylvia glanced at Alex in her arms and then at Mollie.
“I don’t know. Now I have a sister, grandparents, an uncle, and you. I have Franklin and Alex… It seems like life has changed a lot. My mindset is different from before.”
“No matter what, you are still Sylvia, the queen.” Mollie skillfully began to breastfeed the baby.
After changing the diaper, the baby was hungry again and started rooting.
Mollie lifted her shirt to feed the baby.
Sylvia left with Alex, not wanting to disturb them any further.
Alex had his own children’s room, which had been prepared some time ago.
The room was fully furnished with a children’s bookshelf and toy box.
The living environment was much better than in Middle Evroya.
“Alex, can you sleep by yourself?” Sylvia asked him as she sat on his little bed.
Alex nodded seriously, his cute little face looking determined, “Of course I can. I’m a man.”
“I’ll stay until you fall asleep,” Sylvia said as she lay down beside him and wrapped her arm around his small body.
“Godmother, can you tell me a story?” His soft voice sounded in Sylvia’s ear.
She couldn’t help but smile, “Sure! I’ll tell you a story about Sky Division. Once upon a time, there was a legendary boy in Sky Division who was very powerful…”
About ten minutes later, she heard his even breathing.
The child had fallen asleep.
Sylvia quietly got out of bed, turned off the light, and gently closed the door.
She sighed deeply; taking care of a child was really tiring!
What she didn’t know was that after she left, the child who had been sleeping quietly suddenly sat up and walked around the room.
The next morning, Alex woke up at eight o’clock.
He felt very tired… Even though his godmother had put him to bed early last night, why was he still so tired?
He was puzzled but quickly got out of bed when he heard a knock on the door. “Godmother, I’m up.”
Sylvia’s voice came from outside with a hint of laughter, “May I come in?”
“Of course!” Alex opened the door and ran to the bathroom to wash up.
The bathroom had been prepared with all the children’s toiletries by the servants yesterday.
Sylvia walked to the wardrobe and opened it. She turned back to ask him, “What do you want to wear today?”
Alex spat out the water from his mouth, washed his face, and applied children’s face cream.
After finishing his routine, he jumped off the small stool and ran to the wardrobe. He looked up at Sylvia, “Godmother, are we going to see great-grandma today?”
He remembered his godmother saying that great-grandma was in the hospital yesterday.
“Yes, so which outfit do you want to wear?” Sylvia crouched down to look him in the eye. “All these clothes are matched sets. You can choose one.”
“I want this one.” Alex picked out a little gentleman’s outfit. “If we’re going to see elders, I should dress formally.”
Sylvia was amused by his adorable attitude and couldn’t help but ruffle his hair.
“No matter what you wear, you’ll always be the most handsome.”
After helping Alex get dressed, Sylvia took his hand and went downstairs for breakfast.
With an extra child in the house, the kitchen staff prepared a breakfast that children would like.
They put a lot of effort into catering to his taste.
After breakfast, Sylvia drove Alex to the hospital. After getting out of the car, she held his hand as they entered the elevator.
As the elevator doors were closing slowly, a large hand reached in, causing them to open again.
A pale-faced man entered with a middle-aged woman who was nagging incessantly, “You were perfectly healthy; how did you get so sick? I’ve told you young people to take care of yourselves-go to bed early and get up early…”
Sylvia found the voice familiar and looked up. When she saw their faces clearly, she was surprised.
It was Bryce and Mrs. Hogan from the Hogan family.
“What brings you to the hospital?” Sylvia asked calmly.
Mrs. Hogan didn’t expect to meet Sylvia here and looked embarrassed.
She forced a smile and greeted Sylvia insincerely, “Miss Andrews, I heard you recently adopted a godson. Is this him? He’s adorable. Congratulations!”
Sylvia glanced at her indifferently, “Thank you. My godson is indeed very cute. How is Olivia doing lately?”
She then discreetly looked at Bryce. It was obvious he was seriously ill.
His face was pale with a faint flush of blood.
She squinted slightly as she examined Bryce’s appearance; he looked haggard and ill-fated.
It seemed he hadn’t been doing well recently.
“Since Olivia lost her memory, she’s been living freely. Her brother is so sick, but she doesn’t care at all. It’s infuriating.” Mrs. Hogan couldn’t stop complaining once she started talking. “Last month she went out with Carley for fun. Bryce and Dexter followed them and got sick afterward. They’ve taken medicine, had IVs, stayed in the hospital, but nothing helps.”
“How did he get so sick? Did the doctor say what caused it?”
Sylvia looked at Mrs. Hogan curiously. Last month…
Last month she vaguely remembered that Olivia’s formation had been attacked.
Someone suffered backlash… So… She glanced at Bryce again.
Because there were too many things going on at that time, she hadn’t checked on Olivia recently.
After all, if Olivia had any problems, Carley would have come running to her immediately.
Everything had been peaceful.
Only Bryce fell ill.
It seemed too coincidental.
She discreetly formed an exploration spell behind her back to check if Bryce’s illness was due to backlash or if he was genuinely sick.
When the elevator dinged open again, Bryce and Mrs. Hogan said goodbye to Sylvia and left.
But the spell continued following Bryce closely.
A while later, Sylvia also exited the elevator with Alex and headed towards Queena’s ward.
Only then did she retract her spell.
The result confirmed her suspicion: Bryce had attacked Olivia’s formation!
Who would have thought that someone in the Hogan family knew about formations? But it seemed Bryce only had superficial knowledge.
The small binding formation on Olivia back then must have been his doing too.
How ridiculous!
Now that she knew it was Bryce’s doing, Sylvia made plans in her mind.
Lost in thought, she reached Queena’s ward door.
The door was open; she entered with Alex directly.
Queena was drinking water. Hearing footsteps, she looked over and was immediately drawn to the little boy dressed like a gentleman.
“What a handsome child.”
Alex wore a gray plaid suit with matching shorts and little leather shoes. Inside he had an English-style knit sweater-adorable like a model from a picture book.
“Hello great-grandma,” Alex greeted politely with a cute smile on his face.
Queena looked at him kindly, “Sweetheart, we are family now. No need to be formal with us elders. Here you go.”
She handed him a prepared gift; Sylvia noticed it was a leaf seal.
Everyone in the Hipps Family had a seal with carved leaves-each unique. She had one; Jenna had one too. And so did their mother.
