Sirena was escorted to Sweden during the night.
Although the blindfold was not removed, she could vaguely sense it was nighttime.
“Did you convey my message? I want to see Ulric.”
“We did, but whether Mr. Walters will come to see you, it’s up to him! You’ll just have to wait!” The escorting guards were already impatient and coldly pushed her into the car.
At least they conveyed her message.
Sirena was only afraid no one would pass on her message, and Ulric would know nothing before she died. As long as he heard what she was going to say was about Rosalind, he would definitely come to see her.
She thought she would have to wait for a while, but surprisingly, she saw Ulric in the early hours of the morning.
He wore a black coat, and at six foot three, he looked good in anything. Though he appeared leaner than before, he still exuded an aura of aloof nobility, full of pressure.
Sirena understood why he came at this hour and withdrew her gaze with a smile. “Rosalind asleep?”
“What’s the matter? Is it about Rosalind?”
Ulric cut to the chase, unwilling to waste words on pleasantries.
Sirena huddled in the corner, looking at him through the iron bars of the detention area. “Ulric, tell me. If there were no Rosalind, would you like me?”
He didn’t answer, and his patience was clearly wearing thin.
There was only a little patience to begin with. He had given all of his remaining patience to Rosalind.
“Answer me, and I’ll tell you.”
“Without Rosalind, there is no Ulric. This question has no answer.”
He refused to make such assumptions and wouldn’t spare Sirena even a glance.
“So, from beginning to end, I was destined to lose, right? When you were abroad and we could still be friends, I truly believed that if I could keep up with your pace, I could stand by your side!” Sirena now realized Ulric had fallen for Rosalind a long time ago. How foolish she had been to think she could be with him!
She believed that Ulric’s feelings for Rosalind were merely youthful affection that couldn’t withstand any storms, so she had stirred up trouble, thinking she had a chance.
But during this time, Sirena thought a lot.
She realized that the only person Ulric had ever wanted was Rosalind. No one could replace her in his heart!
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner… Why did you hide it so deeply all these years, making me think I had a chance to be with you!”
“You have ill intentions. You can’t blame others.”
Ulric never gave her any hope or promises.
“Yes, I’m the bad guy…” Sirena laughed bitterly. “In your eyes, I’m the worst person, aren’t I?”
She slowly rose from the ground and approached Ulric, reaching out to grip the rusty iron bars.
“If I can’t have you, then you won’t get Rosalind either! Haha… you two can never be together!”
Ulric’s dark eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?”
“Rosalind’s mother died of heart disease. I bet you had already investigated.”
Mentioning Rosalind’s mother made Ulric’s brows immediately furrow.
“Does even Rosalind believe her mother died because of some shocking words that triggered her heart attack?”
