Chapter 882: Lyra’s Fury Burns Across the Sky

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2025-3-21

Lyra marched toward Brandon, her face alight with anger, completely unnoticed by him.
Just half an hour earlier.
Layla had also left the Grand Elysium Hotel.
Paxton and his group had headed straight to Pelens.
With the medical manual in hand, Layla had no further business in Niarak. Before their departure, they made her warn Flynn:
If Flynn dared entertain the thought of returning to the Clark family, he should forget it-even in his next life!
Sparing his miserable life was already a mercy. He was never to appear before the Clark family again.
After sending Paxton off, Layla headed straight for Jade Dragon Mountain.
She wanted to warn Lord Valerian Nox to avoid Dario Bragg’s wrath for the time being.
At the same time, atop Jade Dragon Mountain.
By the cliff’s edge.
The Dragonsfire Cauldron was encircled by blue flames, radiating a warmth that made the surrounding air feel like spring.
Even in the depths of autumn, the chill of the season was nowhere to be felt here.
Callie removed her coat, revealing a brown, low-cut blouse.
Her fair neck, delicate collarbones, and ample chest stood out against the backdrop of the mountain’s serene beauty.
Flynn reclined on a bamboo chair, leisurely watching the combat footage on his phone.
Callie sat nearby, holding a plate of grapes, occasionally leaning over to peek at the screen.
Her lips carried a faint smile, her glances at Flynn revealing crescent-shaped eyes full of joy.
She looked utterly content.
She wished this moment could last forever.
“Not bad. It seems Clayton has been putting in some effort lately.”
“Yeah, Faith’s moves have potential, but her force is slightly off.”
“Ethan is steady-his style is direct and dominant, without any unnecessary frills. Clayton, on the other hand, is too eager. While ambition is good, there’s no need to go all out against a Grandmaster…”
Flynn commented on The Edge team’s techniques while casually popping grapes into his mouth from the plate.
Before long-
“Yay! Mr. Clark, The Edge team has captured the flag! We won! We won!”
Callie, brimming with excitement, placed the plate on her lap and leaned closer to the screen.
She wanted to count how many of The Edge team members had made it to the top.
A smile crept onto Flynn’s lips as well.
Although such competitions didn’t interest him much, The Edge team’s performance was satisfactory.
Given their average talent, achieving such results in a short time was commendable.
His students had made him proud, and that made Flynn happy.
“Not bad, though they took too long to reach the top-over ten minutes,” Flynn said, still focused on the screen, as he reached out to grab another grape.
But his hand froze mid-air.
A warm, soft sensation greeted his touch, like freshly steamed buns straight out of the basket.
Flynn’s smile stiffened.
His hand had slipped into Callie’s low-cut blouse!
Flynn swore it wasn’t intentional.
After all, the fruit plate had been there just moments ago. After half an hour of grabbing grapes, his hand had simply acted out of habit.
He hadn’t expected Callie to shift her posture in excitement after The Edge’s victory!
Coupled with the low neckline of her blouse, Flynn’s hand had found its way in-and even gave a squeeze.
His thumb had even brushed against something firm, like the tip of a peach… or another grape.
Callie, busy counting the team members on the screen, suddenly felt her chest being grabbed by a large hand.
A slight squeeze sent a trembling sensation through her body.
Her delicate face flushed crimson, her heart pounding wildly.
“Callie, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…” Flynn quickly withdrew his hand.
“It’s okay. I don’t mind,” Callie said softly, misunderstanding Flynn’s apology as hesitation.
She grabbed his hand and placed it back on her chest, leaning into him.
The suddenness of it all left Flynn momentarily stunned. His hand was once again resting on the soft curve of her body.
His pupils trembled.
Before he could react further, Callie pressed herself fully against him.
Creaaak
The bamboo chair let out a faint groan.
“Hmm? Mmm…”
Flynn was startled by Callie’s boldness. Before he could figure out what she was doing, her lips met his.
The sweet fragrance of Callie’s breath mixed with Flynn’s heated exhale.
The soft, slippery sensation under his hand, coupled with the moist warmth of her lips, left Flynn speechless.
He wanted to speak, but for some reason, Callie’s strength suddenly surged. Her next move nearly made his eyes pop out of his head-
Callie grabbed Flynn’s phone, placed his hand on her stomach, and slowly guided it downward…
When Flynn felt the smooth curve of her lower abdomen, a wave of heat surged through him, and his inner energy burst forth uncontrollably!
The flames in the Dragonsfire Cauldron roared higher, engulfing it in an inferno.
“Mr. Clark, all ten members of The Edge team have been selected…” Brandon said as he listened to the military’s Greater Sovereign read out the announcement.
He was ready to deliver the news to Flynn.
But at that moment, the scene on the screen made him freeze in place.
On the rocking bamboo chair, his daughter was sprawled across Flynn, holding his face in her hands…
Meanwhile, Flynn’s hands seemed rather… occupied.
Was this… live-streamed?
Good heavens!
What kind of celebration was this?
“Good girl, well done! Heh heh…” The usually stoic Brandon couldn’t suppress a grin as he silently turned off his phone.
He was delighted.
But Lyra, who had been walking toward them for some time, had completely lost it.
Her beautiful eyes burned with fury, as though they could scorch the heavens.
As expected!
She knew it!
Flynn, that shameless bastard!
Lyra was too far from the screen to see the man’s face clearly, as Callie was blocking most of him.
But she was certain it had to be Flynn.
Even if he turned to ashes, she’d recognize him.
Besides, The Edge team members kept calling him “Mr. Clark.” Who else could it be if not Flynn?
Ahhhhhh-
Flynn, you bastard!
I’ll kill you!
Not only had he been avoiding her, but he’d also found another woman!
No wonder he’d been hiding from her-he thought she was in the way!
To be fair, that woman did have a good figure, and her side profile was pretty.
But she was too skinny.
Damn it!
Wasn’t she, Lyra, better than that woman?
Hmph! Her fair skin and luscious curves didn’t lose out to anyone!
Consumed by jealousy, Lyra was losing her mind.
She wanted nothing more than to rush to Niarak and finish Flynn off right now!
But after the military competition, they were to rest in the desert for three days.
Talon Emberhart had scheduled meetings with the leaders to review the year’s achievements of the special forces from various districts.
There were also border and coastal defense issues to discuss.
As per tradition, the Steel Battalion would join on the third day, not only for joint training but also to set an example for the special forces teams.
Their presence was meant to inspire and motivate.
Three days later, Lyra would fly straight to Niarak.
She would deal with Brandon’s daughter then.
No, not just her. Knowing Flynn’s shameless nature, could he have stopped at only one?
It was likely a whole house full of women!
Lyra was determined to catch them all in one swoop.
If she didn’t flip Flynn’s world upside down, how could she quell the burning jealousy in her heart?
