EPISODE FIFTY EIGHT.
LANA’S POV.
The house was a hassle to locate, extremely big for just one person, and annoyingly hideous.
“God. This is so frustrating.”I said, finally pushing through the door open.
He sent me the passcode the other day. I walked in levelly with the bag of groceries, breathing heavily.
I’m so tired. Fucking stressed.
Getting to the main door, I was about to twist the knob with my spare finger when the door opened and a manly figure almost collided into me.
“Hey. I’m so sorry.”He grabbed my arms back and the bags fell from my hands immediately.
God. He smells so good. I looked up at him just to see him staring at me with a smirk lingering on his lips.
“It’s… fine…”I mumbled, trying not to get lost in his big brown eyes.
“I’m Lana…. Uhmmm… The new cook.”I introduced, flustered.
He chuckled softly and nodded while he made space for me.
“You came late.”He said, walking in deeper with the bags in his hands like they’re nothing.
He looks so strong. The big arms, oh my God.
“Yeah, I had a class. Grabbed some bite too. But don’t worry, I work well with limited time.” I rambled on and on like a fool and he only nodded.
“I have no issues with that. Make sure you prepare them in large quantities, I eat well.”He winked with the last words and dropped the bags on the kitchen cabinet.
It’s so big, bigger than the whole apartment I live in. How does one build a place as big as this just to live alone? Or he’s just an errand boy to some rich men?
“There are some guests in the house and they will be eating as well. I have two more coming, try to be as much as enduring. They drive me crazy.”He chuckled again and walked off.
It took me some minutes to get over whatever reverie I slipped myself in and get to work immediately.
I had so much to do so I multi-tasked and in less than two hours, everything was done.
As if he planned it, the guy came back again with crossed arms and judgy eyes, staring at me like some maniac.
Wait, ‘the guy’? I don’t even know his name.
“I’m done.”I beamed in a proud smile like a child who aced his exams.
He nodded and started tasting every dish I prepared, luckily, there was a satisfied grin on his face as he tasted each of them.
“You like them?”I asked, pressing my lips together nervously.
“This is good. I’m sure they will like it.”He grins, licking off his fingers.
Gosh. He’s such a freak. How could someone look this good and act naturally as well?
“You mean your bosses?”I blurted. The words rolled out of my mouth before I could stop myself.
God. This runny mouth of mine.
He glanced at me with a snarky expression on his face which dissolved into a smirk.
“You bet?”
“Bet?”I echoed in surprise.
“You don’t believe I’m in control here? I look like a tease?”He asked, eyeing me in a funny manner.
I almost replied ‘yes’ that he truly looked like a tease but I held myself back. I don’t want to be that comfortable around him.
“I didn’t say that, I just….”
“Don’t worry, I’m a tease. They all bully me, and it’s fine. Not because they’re in control, I’m just enjoying it.”He shrugged nonchalantly and grabbed a peppered chicken greedily and started munching on it.
“Fuck. This is so tasty.”He licked his lips deliciously in such a sensual manner that I almost followed his cue.
God. I should leave. He looks like a sinner or so much more.
“My work is done here, I guess?”I dragged the words carefully.
It’s not yet time for me to leave but I can’t wait to get out of here.
“Not yet. You should join us for dinner, the girls will be here soon. Help me set the table.”
Girls? They must be his girlfriends.
Scoffing, I started grabbing the dishing plates and in no time, we were done with it.
The door suddenly burst open and two identical girls walked in like a freak, screaming and yelling.
“Oh my God.”The guy groaned, staring at me apologetically before rushing off to where they are.
“You guys were drinking?”He recoiled in surprise, his expression laced with shock.
“Trust me, Marcos. You don’t know how good they made me feel tonight.”The shorter one among them chuckled and started walking towards the dining room.
She stopped on her tracks immediately and saw me.
Oh. My. God.
“Who’s she? Your new girl?”The one staring at me keenly asked.
Marcos didn’t say anything but struggled to keep the taller one behind her at bay.
“No, Amanda. She works for me.”He answered, dragging the girl with her.
“What? She sells drugs?”
“Excuse me?”My loud voice rang through the room in shock. Taken back by what she said.
How dare she accuse me of selling drugs?
Wait, Marcos sells drugs?
What the hell am I even doing here?
“Oh, fuck. Sorry. I didn’t know you’re the cook. Nice to meet you, I’m Amanda.”She said in a sweet smile, stretching her hands towards me. I stared down at it, pissed off already.
“Oh, toss the words I said earlier. I didn’t mean it.” She chuckled, I sighed softly and accepted the hand shake.
“Lana. I’m his cook.”
“Oh, sure.”She mumbled.
Shortly, few men started walking towards us, the one in front was holding a gun and had a similar build like Marcos.
My knees almost gave up on me in trepidation. “Oh, shit. Sorry.”He smiled awkwardly at me and kept the gun away immediately. But that didn’t wear off the fear. The sight of guns makes me shiver. They scare me so much.
But, why are they all so weird?
“Oh, baby!”Amanda squealed happily and run towards the man holding the gun earlier.
“Hey!”He smiled and feathered few kisses all over her face except her mouth which definitely reeks of alcohol judging from the expression on his face.
“God. You drank.”He grimaced but still held her tightly in his arms.
“I had to release the tension a bit. Hazel almost made me yap about everything today.”She said cutely.
Wait, Hazel? My own Hazel?
I shake off the thought immediately, There are many Hazels. And she’s definitely not the one they’re talking about.
Hazel can’t be friends with freaks like them. It’s not possible.
