Chapter 955: The Last Request

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2025-3-18

“I am actually a bit surprised,” Callie said, looking up. “Given the conflict between your daughter and me, you still chose to give me the dog. Aren’t you afraid she’ll find out and cause trouble?”
The autumn street was bathed in sunlight, with a cool breeze blowing, lifting Callie’s hair. Sienna looked at her as if she were an old acquaintance.
After a moment, she turned slightly and said, “There aren’t many people in this world who understand me. You are one of them. I don’t wish to doubt you. I trust my own judgment.”
Callie was taken aback, realizing that this was a form of affirmation from her… from her own mother.
Her throat tightened suddenly, but she quickly spoke, “If one day I did something you couldn’t understand, something that disappointed you, what would you do? Would you hate me?”
Sienna heard these words and opened her mouth slightly. After a long pause, she sighed, “Maybe you would have your reasons.”
From her perspective, Callie’s life had been too harsh. Because of her own daughter, Callie’s marriage with Nelson had ended, and now she had to watch him remarry.
She felt a sense of guilt towards Callie.
But Sienna didn’t know that these were not the things that hurt Callie the most.
Callie understood this response and led Pepper away in another direction.
At the end of the street was a vast blue ocean. Her figure appeared thin and fragile. Sienna watched and suddenly called out, “Callie.”
Callie’s back stiffened.
“On the fifteenth, don’t show up. Consider it my last request.”
When Sienna said this, even she was surprised. It was as if she had a premonition that Callie would definitely appear on that day.
So she made this request.
This time, Callie did not turn around or respond. She just walked away slowly with the dog.

On the way back, the driver was an old man who had served the Ellison family for decades. He glanced at the rearview mirror, “Why didn’t you ask just now?”
“Ask what?” Sienna closed her eyes to rest.
“Ask her… why she appeared here. Our people traced Miss Maevelyn’s classmate all the way here and just happened to run into her. It’s too much of a coincidence.”
Sienna remained still. She had wanted to ask, but when she heard Callie say she had grown up here, she no longer wanted to. She wasn’t sure whether to call it a coincidence or meticulous planning.
“Where is Karlee?”
“Couldn’t find her. We’re checking if the lead was wrong.”
Sienna slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry. “She’s already been taken.”
“Ah…”
“Send a team to Anbusea. Find her before the fifteenth.”

Oconnor Group.
Nelson finished a day of meetings when his secretary approached at the right moment, “Mr. Oconnor, Miss Ellison is here.”
He lifted his eyelids slightly, his voice cold, “What does she want?”
The secretary hesitated, sensing Mr. Oconnor’s indifference towards his fiancee.
Outside the meeting room, Charlotte had been waiting for a long time. Today she wore a white dress with a chic jacket over it, looking very elegant and poised. When she saw Nelson’s figure, she smiled and approached him, “Nelson, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
Nelson subtly avoided her outstretched hand and walked towards the elevator, “It’s already late. Why are you here?”
Charlotte’s face stiffened but quickly smiled again, “I saw the photos from the tailor this morning. Your suit looks very fitting. I came to pick it up and wait for you to finish work.”
