“A glass of beer, what’s the big deal?” Olivia’s voice was calm, not taking her brothers’ words to heart.
As long as Carley was happy eating with her.
The owner worked quickly, and soon the seafood they ordered was brought to the table.
About half an hour later, the four of them stood up from the seafood stall, and Dexter perceptively settled the bill.
Olivia glanced at him, then pulled Carley towards the beach to wade in the waves.
The nighttime shore had lost the scorching heat of the day, and the sea breeze was refreshing.
There were many people playing by the sea, and the noise was constant.
Many tourists were playing with water rollers, which caught Olivia’s attention. She tugged on Carley’s arm. “Carley, look, that looks fun. Let’s go play.”
“I’ve never played with a roller before!” Carley was also very interested. She widened her eyes at the roller, which was mostly filled with teenagers and some younger children, but also a few sweet couples.
Adults played relatively less often.
The appearance of the two girls immediately attracted the attention of a group of men.
Their beautiful faces and perfect figures stirred imaginations.
The roller business was booming. The two girls found a roller and were about to get in when Dexter and Bryce wanted to join them.
The owner quickly said, “You two are too tall and heavy. It’s not safe.”
The two men had to give up.
Soon, two young men around twenty years old arrived. The owner pointed to a nearby scale. “Weigh yourselves. The weight must not exceed 130 pounds. If two people ride together, their weights should not differ too much.”
“Some visitors may experience dizziness or headaches after riding. It is recommended to stay inside the roller for two minutes after it stops moving.”
The owner explained some precautions, and the roller started moving.
Olivia and Carley were having a great time, their clear laughter ringing out occasionally.
Bryce and Dexter took many photos of them with their phones.
The two young men also got into a roller.
For some reason, their roller kept chasing after Olivia and Carley’s roller.
“Hey beauties, it’s so soft in here. I wonder if your waists are softer or if it’s softer in here!” A sleazy voice came through the roller.
Olivia turned her head and saw the two young men wearing disgusting floral shorts, sitting in the roller with lecherous smiles.
They had deliberately chosen the roller to get close to Olivia and Carley.
Olivia looked away, not wanting to engage with them.
Carley also looked coldly at them, snorting. “Olivia, let’s move away from them.”
They rolled their roller in the opposite direction, quickly avoiding the two men.
“Wow, these beauties really have some flavor!”
The other man chimed in, “I love spicy girls the most.”
After he spoke, they both laughed lewdly. Wherever Olivia and Carley’s roller went, they followed closely.
“Haha! When we get out of the roller, beauties, come with us?”
“Yeah! We’ll take good care of you tonight.”
The surrounding rollers were mostly filled with children who stopped playing and stared at the two men in shock.
Some couples hurried out of their rollers, not wanting any trouble.
Some parents saw that the two men were troublemakers and quickly called their children out of the rollers.
At that moment, “What are you doing!” A cold shout suddenly came.
Everyone looked towards the source of the voice in shock.
Bryce and Dexter had rented a speedboat and were heading towards Olivia and Carley’s roller.
Without a word, they rammed into the roller with the two hooligans inside. The hooligans screamed in surprise inside the roller.
“Ah! I’m so dizzy!”
“Damn it! What’s your problem? Why are you hitting us!”
“Ah-”
The two hooligans were dizzy and disoriented inside the roller, screaming continuously.
After getting out of the roller, they vomited heavily.
“Hmph! Dare to mess with my sister? You’re tired of living!” Bryce walked over and kicked each hooligan.
Dexter grabbed one by the collar and slapped him twice.
He hit him so hard that he saw stars. “Stop hitting! Stop hitting!”
“Get lost!” Bryce kicked him again.
The two men stumbled away supporting each other.
The two girls also got out of the roller. Olivia didn’t expect Dexter and Bryce to come to their rescue. Although they drove away the hooligans, she didn’t feel particularly moved. She felt a bit cold-hearted.
If it were other girls, they would probably be very touched and grateful.
But… she wasn’t.
Her heart remained unmoved.
She simply thanked them lightly. Carley also thanked them both.
Olivia no longer felt like playing. “Carley, let’s go back.”
“Olivia…”
The Hogan brothers escorted them to the villa entrance. Dexter couldn’t help but call out to Olivia.
Olivia looked at him expressionlessly. “Dexter, I’m sorry, but this villa really can’t accommodate you.”
With that, she pulled Carley inside and slammed the door shut.
Carley looked at her awkwardly. “Olivia… They are your brothers. They treat you well. Is there some rift between you? You used to rely on them a lot…”
“The past is the past. Now is now.” Olivia smiled and rubbed her forehead. “Alright, I’m tired. I’ll go to my room first.”
What she didn’t know was that after she and Carley returned to the villa…
The Hogan brothers lingered at the door for a while before turning to leave.
After leaving, they went into a secluded alley where the two hooligans were waiting. Seeing them, they bowed obsequiously. “Young masters, how did we do?”
“Not bad. Here’s your reward.” Bryce threw them a red envelope. “Keep this matter to yourselves. Don’t tell anyone.”
“Absolutely.” The hooligans greedily opened the envelope and saw a thick stack of cash inside. They grinned widely. “Thank you! Thank you! If there’s more work like this, remember us!”
“Get lost!” Dexter snapped coldly.
They quickly ran off with their money.
Bryce glanced at Olivia’s villa from afar before he and Dexter entered the neighboring villa.
The brothers had spent a lot of money renting this villa. The previous occupants didn’t want to leave, so Bryce offered them triple the rent. They happily moved out to another villa.
Late at night, at midnight, the resort was quiet.
Bryce quietly left his villa and went to Olivia’s villa entrance to set up an array.
At home, if a servant or their parents saw him setting up an array, it would be very bad. With his ability, he couldn’t hide it from everyone at home.
He could only set up an array when Olivia wasn’t home.
Time passed slowly; an hour went by quickly.
Bryce’s forehead was covered in sweat.
Damn it!
What happened to Olivia? Why wasn’t his array working? And as time went on, he felt more tired and his chest grew tighter with waves of dizziness hitting him.
He could barely hold on.
Gritting his teeth, he finally had to give up.
He staggered back towards his villa next door.
As soon as he reached the door, he coughed up blood.
He stared at his blood in disbelief. How could this be?
Blood?
How could setting up an array make him cough blood?
Previously when he set arrays for Olivia, it was easy and without any reaction. Why was it different this time?
It seemed he needed to consult a master…
Suppressing another wave of blood rising in his throat, he quickly entered his villa and rushed back to his room.
After drinking several sips of warm water, he felt somewhat better.
His chest hurt less but his body still felt weak.
Closing his eyes briefly, he realized this place wasn’t safe…
Meanwhile, far away in H Rovirsa, Sylvia slowly opened her eyes in the dark night.
After attending Isla’s bachelorette party all day, she had gone straight to bed but was awakened by a strong array fluctuation at midnight.
It was from an array she had set up for Olivia that disturbed her sleep and forced her awake.
Someone tried to break her memory-sealing array on Olivia and set up a new one.
Sylvia smirked silently. To prevent this exact scenario from happening, she had placed protective and counter arrays on Olivia as well.
Anyone trying to set a new array on Olivia would suffer severe backlash.
Surely… that person must be in great pain now with significant energy loss.
After a while without sensing any more array fluctuations, Sylvia knew that person had given up.
She closed her eyes again and glanced at the sky outside; moonlight was bright against the dark night. She yawned; it seemed she could sleep well now.
Isla’s bachelorette party ended halfway because Soren’s sister Kristen had an incident. Sylvia had met Kristen once; she wasn’t an easy person. She had once run a socialite training class scamming young models and escorts.
No one knew what happened but it ruined her sister-in-law’s party.
With these thoughts swirling in her mind, Sylvia gradually fell back into sleep.
