MIA’S POV
The moment my eyes snapped open, the battlefield fell into a stunned silence. Power surged through my veins like wildfire, alive, untamed, unstoppable. My body felt weightless, yet I had never been stronger. Every inch of me pulsed with the raw energy of the White Wolf.
Keith’s expression twisted in disbelief, his hands clenched into fists. “No… This-this can’t be happening!” His voice wavered, but I saw the truth in his eyes-fear.
I tilted my head, stepping forward with deliberate slowness. “You should be proud, Keith.” A smirk tugged at my lips. “If you hadn’t stabbed me, I wouldn’t have awakened.”
His face turned red with fury. With a snarl, he lifted his hands. Dark energy crackled at his fingertips.
The ground trembled. Shadows twisted unnaturally. The stench of death filled the air.
I turned just as an army of demon rogues emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowing red, their bodies twisted by corrupted magic. Their growls rumbled through the battlefield, sending a chill through the air.
Keith’s confidence returned as he gestured toward them. “Kill her!”
The rogues lunged.
I lifted my hand, and a pulse of white energy exploded outward. The chains that bound my stepbrothers shattered, and they landed on their feet, wolves growling, bodies tense, ready to fight.
Rolex wiped the blood from his lip, rolling his shoulders. “About damn time.”
Sean cracked his knuckles, a dark grin spreading across his face. “I was starting to feel useless.”
Xavier’s gaze locked onto mine, his wolf hovering beneath the surface. “Let’s end this.”
Nathan’s hands clenched into fists, his voice low and dangerous. “Nobody touches our mate.”
Then, chaos erupted.
The brothers charged forward, shifting mid-air, their massive wolves tearing into the demon rogues. The sound of snarls, growls, and bones snapping echoed around us.
I turned to Keith, who stood frozen, his confidence faltering again.
I stepped closer, power thrumming beneath my skin. “You did this, Keith. You pushed too far. And now?” My voice dropped, a whisper laced with lethal promise. “You lose.”
Keith’s eyes flickered between me and his army-his failing army. His rogues were falling one by one, their bodies disintegrating under my power.
His breath hitched. Then-he turned to run.
Oh, hell no.
I vanished in a flash of white light and reappeared right in front of him.
Keith gasped, stumbling backward. “No-NO!”
I grabbed his throat before he could escape, my grip tight, unyielding. He struggled, clawing at my wrist, but I didn’t let go.
I leaned in close, my breath fanning his face. “What’s wrong, Keith? You were so eager to take my heart before.” I tightened my grip, watching as his face turned red, his legs kicking helplessly.
Nathan and the others surrounded us, their wolves growling low.
Rolex crossed his arms, his voice laced with pure venom. “Beg, coward.”
Sean stepped forward, his wolf hovering just beneath the surface. “You wanted to be an Alpha?” His lips curled in disgust. “You don’t deserve the title.”
Xavier ran his tongue over his teeth, his voice a deadly whisper. “Do it, Mia.”
Keith shook his head violently, his eyes wild with desperation. “Please-please, I was just-”
“Just what?” I hissed. “Trying to rip out my heart? Trying to destroy my family? Trying to kill my mate-”
Keith struggled under my foot, his face twisted in rage, but the fear in his eyes was undeniable. He knew he had lost. Knew he was at my mercy.
But mercy? I wasn’t feeling generous today.
I crouched down, gripping his chin so he had no choice but to look into my glowing white eyes. “You wanted to rip my heart out,” I whispered, tilting my head. “Tell me, Keith, how does it feel now?”
He gritted his teeth, refusing to answer.
A slow smirk spread across my lips. Wrong move.
I lifted my fingers, and with the slightest flick, pain ripped through his body. He screamed, his back arching off the ground, his veins glowing as I let my power seep into him.
It wasn’t enough to kill. No. That would be too easy.
This was punishment.
I leaned closer, my breath fanning his face. “Say it.”
He gasped, clawing at his throat as if invisible hands were choking him.
His body jerked violently, his voice hoarse as he cried out in agony. “I- I’M SORRY! I’M SORRY, MIA!”
I didn’t stop. Not yet.
“You’re sorry for what?” My voice was lethal, cold, void of any softness.
Keith whimpered, his body convulsing under my power.
“For-for trying to take your heart!” His voice cracked, desperation clinging to every word. “For hurting Lucas! For- for everything!”
I studied him, my fingers still hovering in the air. I could feel the raw energy flowing through me, the intoxicating power of the White Wolf demanding vengeance.
But…
I could also hear the Moon Goddess’ voice in my head.
“Forgive them.”
Forgiveness. It tasted bitter in my mouth.
Keith deserved to rot for what he had done. For the pain he had caused.
But I had a choice.
I closed my eyes for a brief second, took a slow breath, and let go.
Keith’s body collapsed against the ground, his chest heaving, his face drenched in sweat. His eyes were wide with terror, his entire form shaking as if the ghost of my power still lingered inside him.
I stood up, stepping back as the wind howled around us, carrying my lingering energy through the clearing.
At that moment, the warriors stormed in.
Just as planned.
Xavier stepped beside me, eyes scanning Keith’s trembling form. “I almost feel bad for him.” He tilted his head, eyes dark with amusement. “Almost.”
Sean let out a short, humorless laugh. “Should’ve let me break a few bones first.”
Lucas, still weak but standing tall, met my gaze. He didn’t say anything, but the respect in his eyes spoke volumes.
I turned to the warriors. “Take him,” I ordered, my voice unwavering. “Make sure he never sees the light of day again.”
Keith didn’t resist as they grabbed him. He couldn’t. His will was broken, his fate sealed.
As they dragged him away, I exhaled, my body finally relaxing. It was over.
The power hummed beneath my skin, but I could feel it starting to settle, retreating deep into my soul.
Then-
A sharp, piercing pain shot through my body.
My knees buckled. My vision blurred.
“Mia!” Someone’s voice-distant, panicked.
Strong arms caught me as my body collapsed. I tried to focus, but the exhaustion hit me like a tidal wave. My limbs felt like lead, my head spinning.
The last thing I saw was four worried faces hovering over me, voices blending into a distant echo.
And then-darkness.
