MIA’S POV
I glared at Keith, my patience snapping as he paced before us like some grand villain in a pathetic play. His voice was thick with arrogance, dripping with the delusion of a man who thought the world owed him everything.
“My father,” he sneered, “was the rightful heir to the Alpha title. But your father stole it from him. Stole what should have been ours.”
I tilted my head, unimpressed. “Let me guess,” I muttered, crossing my arms. “And now you’re here to reclaim your birthright? Oh, Keith, how tragic. Such a sad little story. I might cry.”
His face darkened. His jaw clenched so tightly, I thought he might break his own teeth.
“You mock me?” His voice dropped to something colder, more dangerous.
I scoffed. “Mocking implies I take you seriously. But I don’t. Because you sound like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum over something that was never yours to begin with.”
A dangerous flicker lit up in his eyes. “You think this is a joke?”
I stepped forward, unbothered by the threat curling around his words. “I think you’re a joke,” I corrected, tilting my chin up. “Your father lost, Keith. Lost. He wasn’t fit to lead, and neither are you. But instead of accepting that, you crawled into the shadows like a rat, feeding on resentment and plotting like some second-rate villain. And for what? Revenge? Power?” I narrowed my eyes. “For me?”
Keith’s lips twisted into a cruel smile. “For your heart.”
My stomach twisted.
“I will carve it out of you,” he continued, his voice like ice, “and with black magic, I will harness its power. The heart of the White Wolf… the strongest force in existence. Do you even understand what you are? You were born to be used, Mia. Nothing more.”
A cold wave of rage surged through me.
I could hear the brothers growling behind me, their fury rattling the cages, but I barely processed it.
Because in that moment, I had never hated someone more in my life.
Keith smirked, seeing the anger in my eyes. “Ah, there it is,” he murmured, stepping closer, his breath brushing against my cheek. “The fire. The rage. Your power is wasted on you. But don’t worry. I’ll make good use of it.”
I gritted my teeth, my fists clenching so hard my nails bit into my palms.
I sneered at Keith, my patience completely shattered. “You’re nothing but a glorified organ trafficker,” I spat.
His entire body tensed. His hands curled into tight fists, his breathing sharp and ragged. I had finally hit a nerve.
A dangerous, twisted smile stretched across his lips. “You just never know when to shut up, do you, Mia?” His voice was low, menacing, laced with pure malice.
I stepped forward, meeting his gaze without a flicker of fear. “And you never know when to stop proving how pathetic you are,” I taunted. “You talk about power, about destiny-yet all you’ve done is steal from others. You want my heart? Is that it? Because without it, you’re nothing. A nobody trying to use stolen magic to become something you’ll never be.”
His face twisted with rage. The chains around my wrists rattled as he yanked me closer, his grip bruising.
“Mia, enough!” Lucas shouted, his voice desperate. “Keith, stop this! I never turned my back on you! You were my family! My own blood! And you still betrayed me-why?! How could you do this to me?! You know I would have helped you!”
Keith let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “Helped me?” His eyes flicked to Lucas, his lips curling in disgust. “You would have helped me? You pity me?! That’s even worse.” He shook his head, his grip tightening around the dagger in his free hand.
I was furious. How could Lucas still plead with him? How could he beg for someone who was ready to kill him twice? My chest ached-not from fear, but from disgust.
“You’re a shameless coward,” I hissed, voice trembling with anger. “Lucas saw you as a brother-and you tried to kill him. Do you have any idea how pathetic that makes you?”
Keith’s expression darkened, his patience completely gone.
“You’re right,” he murmured. “I should’ve done this sooner.”
He pulled me out of the cage, and dragged me and smirked like a true maniac.
Keith’s fingers curled around the dagger, his grip steady, his expression void of hesitation.
“Don’t you dare touch her!” Xavier’s voice thundered through the room, shaking with pure rage. His fists slammed against the cage, veins bulging as his wolf fought to break free.
“Keith, if you do this, I swear I will rip you apart!” Rolex’s voice was raw with fury, his eyes dark, dangerous. The air vibrated with the sheer force of his power as he threw himself against the bars.
Nathan’s entire body trembled with restrained rage. “I don’t care if you’re Lucas’s blood-I’ll end you with my own hands!” His wolf surfaced, claws extending, his breathing sharp and erratic.
Sean, usually calm and calculated, snapped. His eyes glowed with lethal intent. “If you kill her, you won’t live to see another sunrise,” he snarled. “Not even the moon goddess will be able to save you from us.”
Their voices shook the walls, their threats laced with more than just anger-this was madness, a rage that would burn the world down if Keith so much as left a scratch on me.
But Keith didn’t care.
He didn’t flinch. Didn’t hesitate.
His lips curled into a sick grin. “You’re all pathetic,” he mused, tightening his grip on my chains. “You call yourselves Alphas, yet you can’t even protect your own mate. Watch closely-I want you to remember this moment for the rest of your miserable lives.”
And then-he plunged the dagger straight into my heart.
A sharp gasp tore through my lips.
I heard shouting-furious, heartbroken cries.
“MIA!”
Their voices-Xavier, Rolex, Nathan, Sean-all blended together in a chaotic roar of rage. The rattling of cages, the sound of something breaking-someone losing control.
Keith let out a cruel chuckle. “There it is,” he murmured. “The power of the White Wolf. And soon, it will be mine.
