MIA’S POV
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the eerie silence. The storm
had passed, leaving behind damp air and the scent of pine and rain. My
body felt strangely… different. Lighter. Stronger.
I sat up quickly, my heart pounding as I scanned the room. My brothers
were still out cold, sprawled across the floor like fallen warriors. For a
moment, fear crept in-what if they were dead?
“Wake up,” I barked, shaking Xavier first. His brows furrowed, and he
groaned, slowly coming to.
“What the hell happened?” Xavier muttered, rubbing his head.
“I don’t know,” I admitted, moving to Nathan and Sean. I shook them
harder, and soon, they all started stirring.
Nathan let out a deep exhale as he sat up. “We were poisoned… I
remember the burning pain…”
Sean flexed his fingers, his expression unreadable. “Then why do I feel
perfectly fine now?”
A heavy silence settled in the room. I flexed my own arms, expecting to
feel the weakness from the poison. But there was nothing. No dizziness,
no pain.
Instead, I felt… powerful.
Sean narrowed his eyes. “Does anyone else feel like… we’re stronger than
before?”
We all exchanged looks. Something wasn’t right.
Nathan ran a hand through his hair. “The last thing I remember is the
pain getting worse. I was ready to pass out. Then I saw…” He trailed off,
his eyes flickering as if recalling something buried deep in his memory.
Xavier’s gaze darkened. “Mia.”
A collective realization hit us all at once.
Mia was the only one who had been with us.
She had walked away, leaving us for dead.
Yet here we were, fully healed, stronger than ever.
“What the hell happened?” Xavier muttered, sitting up on his elbows.
We all looked at each other, realization dawning. The pain was gone. The
poison-the unbearable agony-had vanished.
But that shouldn’t have been possible.
“The poison…” Nathan trailed off, inspecting his arm where he had been
wounded. Nothing. No scars, no pain.
Sean flexed his fingers, his expression darkening. “We should be dead.”
Xavier exhaled, rubbing a hand down his face. “Then why aren’t we?”
Silence settled between us, the only sound was the distant rustling of
leaves outside. My mind raced through every possibility, but nothing
made sense.
Then Sean stiffened. His fists clenched. “Mia.”
My stomach twisted at the name.
Nathan’s head snapped toward him. “What about her?”
Sean met his gaze, his voice low. “She left us to die.”
Xavier scoffed. “That’s not news.”
“No, you don’t get it,” Sean snapped. “We should be dead. We were
poisoned. That kind of poison doesn’t just disappear. It doesn’t get
healed by some miracle.” His eyes darkened, like he had just connected
the pieces. “Unless-”
Nathan’s jaw clenched. “Unless what?”
Sean’s voice was barely above a whisper. “Unless she saved us.”
A heavy silence filled the air.
I inhaled sharply, my mind reeling. That… that wasn’t possible. Mia had
no wolf. No healing abilities.
“She’s human,” Xavier argued. “She couldn’t have done anything.”
A thick tension lingered between us as we stood outside the abandoned
cottage, the storm now nothing but a distant memory. My hands
clenched into fists, jaw tightening as Sean’s words echoed in my mind.
“She walked away.”
The betrayal burned deep.
“We fought for her,” Nathan muttered, shaking his head. “We risked our
damn lives, and she just left us to die.”
Xavier’s expression was unreadable, but his clenched fists spoke
volumes. “We protected her, and this is how she repays us?”
Sean exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. “It’s not even
about the rejection anymore. She hates us so much that she wouldn’t
even lift a finger to help.”
My chest tightened. Mia’s hatred wasn’t new. But knowing she had the
chance to save us and still walked away… it was a different kind of pain.
“She’s turning into a monster,” Nathan muttered, his voice cold. “Just
like we did to her.”
Silence fell. None of us could argue with that.
Xavier finally broke the quiet. “We need to confront her. Now.”
I nodded. “Agreed. She’s playing games, but this time, we aren’t backing
down.”
Without another word, we shifted and ran toward the Blood Moon Pack
mansion.
–
The second we reached the estate’s entrance, I knew something was
wrong.
Before we could even take another step, warriors surrounded us from all
sides.
Sean let out a low growl. “Well, this is new.”
Xavier’s eyes flickered with irritation as he took a step forward. “Move.”
A warrior, bigger than most, stepped ahead. “You are to come quietly.
The Alpha wishes to see you.”
Nathan scoffed. “And if we refuse?”
Blades were drawn in response.
Sean let out a humorless chuckle. “Guess that answers that.”
I exchanged glances with my brothers. We could fight. Hell, we could
probably take most of them down. But we weren’t in our territory, and
we were already outnumbered.
Xavier rolled his shoulders. “Fine. Lead the way.”
The warriors nodded, motioning for us to follow.
As we walked through the grand estate, I couldn’t shake the feeling
creeping up my spine.
This wasn’t just some random call from the Alpha.
Mia had planned this.
I wasn’t sure how, but I knew one thing for certain-if we didn’t figure
out a plan fast, we might not make it out alive.

Silence fell. None of us could argue with that.
Xavier finally broke the quiet. “We need to confront her. Now.”
We all agreed because all her pretending, lies, we need to know the
answers and till when she will stop saying lies, and accept us.
The moment we stepped onto Blood Moon Pack territory, I felt it.
Something was off.
The energy in the air was thick, charged with something I couldn’t quite
place. Maybe it was the way the guards stood-tense, prepared. Maybe it
was the way their eyes locked onto us, watching every movement like we
were already sentenced to death.
Hell, maybe it was just my instincts screaming at me that we had walked
straight into a trap.
Sean let out a low growl beside me. “Well, this is new.”
Xavier stepped forward, his expression sharp. “Move.”
A massive warrior blocked his path. “You are to come quietly. The Alpha
wishes to see you.”
Nathan scoffed, arms crossed. “And if we refuse?”
The warriors didn’t hesitate. Blades were drawn, the sharp metal
gleaming under the afternoon light.
Sean let out a humorless chuckle. “Guess that answers that.”
I glanced at my brothers. We were strong. We had taken down worse
odds before. But this wasn’t about strength-it was about territory. We
were outnumbered, surrounded, and worst of all, we had no idea what we
were walking into.
Xavier clenched his jaw. “Fine. Lead the way.”
The warriors barely nodded before marching us forward.
As we passed through the grand gates, my stomach twisted. Every step
closer to the mansion made my gut churn, the feeling growing heavier
like a stone sinking in water.
This wasn’t just some summon from the Alpha.
This was planned.
By her.
Mia.
