“Wake up, how long are you going to sleep?”
“Mhmm,” Priyank’s body stirred as he tried to move, but something seemed to restrict his motion.
His whole body ached with pain. With a bit of force, he opened his eyes, but darkness consumed everything around him.
“At last you woke up. It took you a day, but you seem fine,” the voice taunted as the lights were turned on.
Priyank immediately shut his eyes, feeling dizzy. “Who?”
He didn’t know what was happening. He remembered going to his company and handling his work when he got a message from his assistant two days ago, upon checking his phone.
Before he thought he lost it, that’s why he took Maya’s phone to even call his mother, but he found his own phone neatly placed in his cupboard.
Now, All he remembered was sitting in the car and wanting to go back to his Angel, after he got done with his work.
He had finished all his work in a single day because he couldn’t do anything other than feeling anxious, even though Maya and Jackson said they would take care of Priya.
He clearly knew they might do a better job than him, but that didn’t mean he felt light. He had even FaceTimed his mother from the company so she would be at ease, as he couldn’t do that in the pack.
“Where is your focus, Mr. Priyank?”
The words snapped Priyank out of his trance of thoughts as he opened his eyes, confidence dripping from them.
One thing he learned in the Mafia: never show your weakness to your enemy. And even though it was his first time being kidnapped, he wouldn’t show even an ounce of nervousness he might be feeling.
“I am in front of you. Your eyes are looking in the wrong direction.”
Hearing this, Priyank moved his eyes straight and looked at the man sitting opposite him, his eyes blank, his hair black, and his black clothes giving off the vibes he knew exactly – it was going to be a long, messed up conversation.
“Myself Aman, nice to meet you.” The man introduced himself with a wide smile.
“Who the fuck are you? Why the hell am I here? For what did you bring me here?” Ignoring Aman’s smile, Priyank growled as he jerked himself, trying to break the chains binding him to the chair.
“Didn’t I tell you? It’s Aman, that’s my name. You are here because I wanted you to be here, and that’s not how you talk to elders. I am 45. I don’t think a 25-year-old should run his mouth like this.” Aman calmly answered, sitting right in front of Priyank.
Priyank’s eyes widened, unable to believe that the guy sitting in front of him was 45. Though it wasn’t the time to think about this, he couldn’t turn a blind eye to it.
How could he look even younger than him? Either he was lying about his age, or he was just blessed with good genes that didn’t make him look his age.
Whatever it was, Priyank just wanted to smash the teeth out of his brightly smiling face.
He didn’t even remember having an enemy like this? Or did he just have too many of them, so he stopped counting? Maybe both. But the smile part was really getting on his nerves.
Gnashing his teeth, Priyank shouted, “I give no fuck why I am here; that’s the business here. Don’t run your mouth with nonsense. Tell me what you want, that’s what you should talk about.”
His eyes shot a glare toward Aman, as if he were going to dig holes in him.
Aman chuckled lightly, seeming unfazed by Priyank’s hostility. “Such fire. I can see why they call you the Wolf of the underworld.”
“Still you get guts to kidnap me like this?”
He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. “But I’m afraid your reputation means little to me. I didn’t bring you here for a friendly chat.”
Priyank strained against his restraints. “Then spit it out. What do you want from me?”
“Patience, Mr. Priyank,” Aman said with a thin smile. “Let’s just say I have a business proposition for you. One you can’t refuse.”
Priyank scoffed. “A business proposition? By kidnapping me? You’ve got a twisted sense of negotiating tactics.”
“Oh, I find being direct gets better results than beating around the bush,” Aman said smoothly.
“You still aren’t getting straight to the point. Tell me directly why I’m here, all tied up?”
“Such a temper. It never helps. You should lighten up a bit, young man,” Aman chuckled.
“As if I give two fucks. Don’t teach me shit. You know exactly who you kidnapped. Still, you have the guts? You think after kidnapping me like this from my car, you’ll be safe?” Priyank’s eyes narrowed into slits.
“My, my. Aren’t we feisty?” Aman clucked his tongue. “I kidnapped you because I need something from you, Priyank. Something only you can provide.”
“Exactly what?”
He leaned forward, his voice lowering. “Your life.”
Priyank let out a snort. “You’re out of your damn fucker.”
Aman tsked. “Such language in front of an elder. I’ll have to wash that mouth out with soap.”
“How about washing your fucking life with soap too? Cursing seems like an issue to you, but kidnapping doesn’t? Motherfucker,” Priyank snarled.
“My, my, I never thought the son of my friend would be so foul-mouthed,” Aman shook his head, feigning disappointment.
‘Son of friend?’ Priyank’s mind was puzzled as he heard those words. What did this lunatic mean by that? He didn’t recognize the man at all.
“What the hell are you blabbering about?” Priyank demanded. “I don’t know you or any of your sick friends.”
Aman arched an eyebrow. “You don’t? Well, that’s a shame. I was quite close with your father back in the day. Thick as thieves, you might say.”
Priyank felt like he would faint. Every cell of his body burned with anger and numbness at the same time. If he weren’t chained like this, he would have caused mayhem without blinking his eyes.
He would have pulled out the very tongue that dared to utter the forbidden word of his life – he felt like his ears had been burned with acid, and he wanted to pour some more because this word made them dirty.
