CHAPTER 157 : FINDING BALANCE

The days passed quietly, and Kira spent most of her time indoors.
Sometimes, she would step out only for some fresh air or short walks as Lythari had recommended, and occasionally, Lythari would also visit and take it upon herself to show her around the elven lands.
But despite all that, there were times when Kira would want to be alone, as the solitude somehow helped her.
By the end of the week, Kira’s mind felt clearer, and she felt stronger both emotionally and mentally. It was like now she could finally control herself.
On the morning of the new week, a knock came at her door, and when she went to answer it, she saw that it was Eldrin, holding a few neatly folded garments.
“Lady Kira,” Eldrin greeted with a respectful nod and stepped inside when Kira asked him too.
“Good thing you are here,” Kira said while she watched him set the clothes down on the couch. “Lythari had offered me some of her clothes, and sincerely I loved it, but I also could not wait to have mine before I use up all of hers.”
“I can understand that,” Eldrin chuckled as he turned to her after he was done arranging the clothes on the couch. “I apologize for the delay. Your clothes are ready and here now.”
“They are,” Kira laughed softly. “And no need to apologize, thank you,” she said as she went on to pick up a dress, running her fingers over the material.
“These are beautiful,” she complimented, checking out the other clothes too. “Wow! You really are what you are. Now I see why you are called the best.”
“Your kind words warms my heart, Lady Kira. I am glad you love them,” Eldrin said with a smile. “You can go and try them out. I will wait to see how it fits.”
“Of course,” Kira agreed. “I will try out some, although I already know you have done an outstanding job.”
Then, she took some of the clothes into the bedroom, got changed and came out to show Eldrin.
“They fit perfectly,” she admitted, twirling around for him to see. “Very comfortable and lovely.”
“As they should,” Eldrin smiled. “You make a beautiful model for my designs. It would be a great pleasure if you could stop by my workshop whenever you can.”
“Gladly,” Kira accepted instantly. “I would love that. Do I also get free dresses, trousers?” She teased.
“Yes, you do,” Eldrin laughed softly. “You are always welcome there, and the happy look on your face gives me great satisfaction. I will take my leave now. Take care, Lady Kira.”
“Just Kira is fine, Eldrin,” she corrected him, even though she knew he might not listen to her. “And thank you so much for the clothes. The gowns, the shirts, the trousers, the nightwear-everything is amazing. Your hard work is deeply appreciated, and I will definitely visit your workshop.”
“Anytime,” he said lastly before he left.
After he left, Kira tried out the other clothes until she got tired and decided to arrange them all in her wardrobe. And as for underwear, Lythari handled that for her. So, everything was now intact, and was going very smoothly.
Soon after, Lythari arrived as planned, and they both left for the training area.
The training area was where Kira was going to begin her physical training, which would include swordsmanship, archery, hand-to-hand combat and many more. Lythari had also said that she would be taught how to ride a horse, as they use them as well.
“So, this is where you will train,” Lythari said, her tone firm yet encouraging. “You have to focus on your magic, but you will also train alongside the others. You will be learning how to fight with your body as well as your powers.”
“Understood,” Kira nodded, her gaze on the other warriors who were currently training. “So, I am officially a part of this now?”
“You are, and you always have been,” Lythari replied, and then went on with what she was saying.
“During training, I won’t be your friend or be soft on you. I will personally train you in certain areas, and you will also be trained by excellent teachers in some areas as well. Magic is one thing, but you are not just a witch, you are a warrior too, and it is time to sharpen every skill you have, in order for you to use them together, powerfully.”
“You are right,” Kira agreed. “There is no point in having magic if I get taken down before I can use it. So, when do I start?”
“You won’t be doing this today. I just wanted to show you where you will be training,” Lythari responded. “You need to get familiar with your surroundings.”
“Alright. Then, what will I be doing today?” Kira asked, her gaze fixed on Lythari.
“Your magic,” Lythari answered. “Follow me, I will show you where you would stay to practice.”
“Yes Ma’am. As you wish,” Kira noted, accepting her fate and following Lythari.
“This,” Lythari said as she pushed open the high arched doors of a building when they had finally reached it, “is where you will be practicing your magic.”
“I like it,” Kira muttered as she walked in, the space vast and lined with some interesting symbols etched into the walls. “It feels… energetic.”
“I thought the same when I first stepped into this building,” Lythari said as she walked closer to a wall and picked up a small bottle. “The energy in this place is very nice and welcoming.”
“And now…” she continued as she turned to Kira after placing the bottle she had picked in the middle of the room, as the building was just a huge room. “All you need to do is lift this bottle.”
“Is this some kind of test?” Kira asked, looking at the bottle then at Lythari.
“Your training has begun,” Lythari said, catching Kira unaware. “Or did you need me to let you warm up? Can’t do it?”
“That… is not working on me,” Kira uttered calmly and took a stance, taking in a deep breath and letting it out as she prepared to lift the bottle. “You want the bottle lifted? I’ll lift it.”
“You will. So, lift the bottle off the ground,” Lythari instructed, her arms crossed. “Focus and reach out with your mind.”
“I am doing just that,” Kira muttered as she tried again, her brows furrowing, but still nothing. “It is not working.”
“You are thinking too hard,” Lythari said. “Again.”
