Mia’s body froze in mid-air, disbelief still etched on her face. She had thought she would be the victor, but now Seraphina’s sword was pointed at her forehead. There was no doubt that if Seraphina pushed her sword forward, Mia would be dead. The outcome was clear.
“This young lady wins,” Ancient Tyrant Pill Sovereign announced with a slight smile, pointing to Seraphina.
“I actually lost…” Mia gritted her teeth, her face dark with frustration. As a genius beast tamer commanding four rare and powerful beasts, she had lost.
Seraphina withdrew her Skywater Blade, bowed slightly to the Ancient Tyrant Pill Sovereign, and then flashed back to her previous position.
“She actually defeated Mia!” Ethan from the Martial Dynasty team looked disheartened. If Seraphina had only defeated Windsor, he could have accepted it. But defeating the beast tamer Mia made him realize that the woman he pursued was far superior to him.
Although Seraphina returned to the jade table, many prodigies and cultivators still focused their gazes on her. Some also looked at Leo, who was acquainted with Seraphina, with eyes full of envy and jealousy.
Leo looked at Seraphina and smiled, saying, “Congratulations.”
Seraphina returned his smile.
At the jade table sat Leo, Seraphina, Noah Shadow, Maverick, Monk Benjamin, Nightfall, Quinn, Celia, and Salvador. Among them, Leo, Seraphina, Quinn, and Monk Benjamin had each won two matches. Noah Shadow, Maverick, Nightfall, Celia, and Salvador had each won one match.
To secure a final spot, at least two victories were necessary, possibly even a third.
As the competition neared its end, Nightfall glanced at the others and then appeared on the battle stage in a flash.
“Miss Storm, you’ve only won one match. Come up and teach me,” Nightfall said in a raspy voice, his gaze falling on Celia.
Celia’s beautiful eyes narrowed slightly as she flashed to the other side of the stage.
Seeing Celia on stage, Nightfall grabbed three blood-colored pouches from his waist. He opened them, releasing three dried-up muscular blood corpses surrounded by a bloody aura.
As Nightfall summoned the three corpses, Celia quickly formed an ancient seal with her hands. A blue glow spread from her blue dress, her hair danced without wind, and a mysterious blue raindrop appeared on her smooth forehead. She had activated her bloodline power.
“Go!” Nightfall commanded.
The three blood corpses locked their hollow red eyes on Celia and charged at her with astonishing speed.
Facing the assault of the three mindless blood corpses, Celia changed her hand seals. Blue spiritual energy surged around her, forming hundreds of thin blue rain threads that pierced through the air and wrapped around the three blood corpses’ emaciated bodies.
The corpses froze in place.
Nightfall sneered and flicked his fingers, sending three spells into the corpses. The corpses’ bodies erupted with blood flames, emitting a foul stench as they burned. The blue rain threads began to break under the heat.
Knowing the threads wouldn’t hold for long, Celia leaped over the corpses and grabbed a blue rain whip from her Storage Sack. Infusing it with spiritual energy, she swung it at Nightfall.
“Attack the master to defeat the servants,” she thought. The corpses were strong but required Nightfall’s control. If she attacked him directly, he would be too distracted to control them.
Nightfall sneered as he dodged into the air. The whip left a deep mark on the stage floor.
Nightfall’s ugly face twisted into a grim smile. “I am not like beast tamers or puppet masters who are weak in close combat. I can defeat you even without controlling my corpses!”
With that, Nightfall’s body erupted with a bloody aura that filled the stage and sky above it. A massive blood cloud formed overhead. As Nightfall formed seals with his hands, a giant blood hand emerged from the cloud and slammed down towards Celia.
Celia quickly formed a seal with her hands. Her hair floated as spiritual energy surged out of her body, forming a large blue rain curtain above her head.
The blood hand struck the rain curtain hard, causing it to tremble violently. Although it held off the hand initially, the hand emitted a corrosive aura that quickly eroded the curtain. In moments, the curtain shattered.
The blood hand continued its descent towards Celia. She lashed out with her rain whip, shattering the hand into a foul-smelling mist.
From within the mist, Nightfall shot towards Celia like a bloody comet. Bloodmoon wheels appeared around him and spun through the air towards Celia.
In desperation, Celia retreated while striking at the wheels with her whip. Each wheel exploded into a cloud of corpse gas upon contact.
Through the mist of corpse gas, Nightfall’s figure shot forward at incredible speed, closing in on Celia within moments.
