* * * * * Crystal’s POV * * * * *
I woke up in the morning and saw Logan pacing around in the room with his phone in his hand. He looked worried and I understand there are so many reasons to be worried at this moment, but which one of them is keeping him worked up right now?
I got down from the bed and rubbed my sleepy eyes, then I walked towards him barefoot.
He noticed my presence and turned to me. “Hey, you are up,” he said, and then looked towards Aidan who was still sleeping.
“Yes, good morning. What are you so worked up about this early morning?” I queried and hung my arm on his neck.
“Crystal, I have been trying to contact the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack since last night, I want to warn him about your step parent’s plan but he is not picking up his calls,” Logan grumbled
I could see he was uneasy. They were not on good terms with the blood Moon Pack but he still wanted to save them, that is really thoughtful of him.
“Do you have any idea why he wouldn’t want to pick your call?” I queried.
“Well, apart from the fact that our Packs are competing with each other, he might be avoiding my calls because he thinks I want to ask him for help,” Logan replied and sighed.
“Okay then, we can call him with my own cell phone,” I said.
“Yeah, that is a good idea,” he replied
I rushed to the bedside to get my phone, only to find out that the battery had run down.
“Damn it! I have a low battery.” I cursed out loud.
“Well I tried my best, I guess they have to face their fate,” he said.
“Wait, or you could send him a text. At least, when he reads it, he will know why you were calling and he will take precautions.” I suggested.
“That’s true, I wonder why I haven’t thought about that since last night,” he replied and started to send the text.
After he had done that, he dropped the phone on the small table and walked to me by the bedside.
“So how was your night?” He smiled.
“It was good and yours?” I queried.
“It wasn’t good,” he grumbled.
“Um… why?” I asked.
“Because you didn’t give me a goodnight kiss,” he replied and I chuckled.
“Seriously? Stop acting like a kid.” I laughed.
He snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me to his body.
“Logan, what are you doing?” I muttered in a low voice, to avoid waking Aidan.
“I want a kiss now, to make up for last night.”
“No Logan, it’s too early.” I protested and giggled.
“I don’t care, you still have to give me one or I won’t let you go,” he replied with seriousness etched on his face.
He tried to kiss me but I moved my head backwards and giggled. Just then, there was a knock on the door and he groaned.
He let go of me and walked to the door, then opened it. Blake walked in with a worried expression on his face.
Everyone looks worried these days, and there is always bad news. I just wish this bad time would pass away very quickly.
“Yes Blake, what is wrong?” Logan queried and closed the door.
“There is trouble Logan, the Red Moon Pack has attacked the Blood Moon Pack with the help of one of the vampire tribes, they are setting the whole place on fire. Their Pack House is already burnt down to the floor as we speak.” Blake reported.
“Damn it!” Logan cursed.
I guess it was inevitable, my step parents had accomplished their goals by taking down the Blood Moon Pack. their clan would rise to the top in the werewolf society, second to none and every other Pack would pledge their allegiance to them out of fear.
“What should we do, Alpha? Since the Blood Moon pack are our rivals, I guess we should just mind our business,” Blake said sadly.
His words and emotions said different things. He said we should mind our business, but the look on his face told us he was worried about them. Perhaps he has a relative there.
“No Blake, we should still help them out. Send a message to their survivors, tell them that they can stay in our Pack if they wish until their Pack is restored again,” Logan instructed.
He was really kind hearted to consider that.
“Alright Logan.” Blake’s face brightened up and he walked out immediately.
“It looks like your step parents beat us to it,” Logan said to me.
“Yes, that is unfortunate but tell me… What is up with Blake? Does he have any relatives over there?” I asked
Logan smirked. “No, but he has a crush on their Alpha’s daughter.”
“Hahaha, really?” I burst into laughter.
“Yes, but he’s scared of the Alpha so he won’t say it openly.” Logan chuckled, then he walked back to me.
“So… Where were we?” He smirked, and grabbed hold of me before I could escape.
“Logan…” I whined.
“Just give me my kiss already,” he grumbled and I laughed.
* * * * *
Later that day, I was looking around for Logan as I have not seen him in the past three hours. He did not go to work today as I had put him under house arrest, so I wonder where he could have gone.
I found Simon on the balcony and asked him if he had seen Logan, but he replied that he had not. Although he didn’t sound convincing enough, there was something suspicious about his reply but I couldn’t put a pin on it.
I turned around to leave and he stopped me. “I am sorry I lied to you, I know where Logan has gone,” he said.
“What? Where has he gone and why did you lie to me?” I queried.
“You don’t need to worry. Logan decided to take a walk in the woods, he asked me not to tell you so that you don’t get worried,” he replied.
“What? How could Logan do that? He knows his life is at risk.” I yelled and headed down the stairs.
I met Blake at the threshold. He was making a phone call.
“Blake!!” I yelled.
He turned to face me, then hung up the call.
“What is wrong? You look worried,” he said.
“Yes Blake, Logan had gone into the woods and you know it’s not safe for him out there. Please let’s go and find him!”
“Wait, have you tried calling him?” Blake queried.
“Yes, but I found out that he left his phone behind. I am really scared that he might get hurt,” I said and panicked.
“You don’t need to be, come let’s go and find him,” Blake said and led the way.
We went through the backyard into the woods and started searching for him but there was no sign of him, we looked everywhere and I was shocked when I got to a spot where the soil looks like there was a fight or struggle that had taken place there, they were up to four different footprints and then I saw a torn piece of Logan’s shirt, that was the exact clothes he was putting on the last time I saw him.
“Blake, look here!” I called his attention and he rushed to the spot.
The look on his face confirmed my fears. Logan has been abducted!!
To be continued!!
