Crystal was still outside the castle waiting for a cab, she was still in tears as the last scene she had seen in Logan’s room kept replaying in her head.
She could not get over it and she regretted coming here. While she was pacing around in tears, waiting for a cab, Logan walked out of the gate.
His jaws slacked in surprise when he saw her, his wolf’s howl in his head became louder and he confirmed that she was the one, the goddess’s chosen one.
Crystal Lennox was his destined mate and he never knew. He was just as happy as he was shocked. His prayers had been answered, his dreams had come true, his wishes had been granted.
The one woman who he loved with all his heart had been given to him as a mate. Could the goddess be any wiser?
He stood there staring at her with joy in his heart. This was the best thing that has ever happened to him, he felt his eyes get teary and he laughed softly.
Alphas were not supposed to get emotional or cry over things like love and happiness, but he did not mind breaking that rule.
However the smile on his face disappeared when Crystal waved down a cab.
With the speed of lightning, he ran towards her. Crystal had opened the door and was about to get in when Logan grabbed her arm and drew her back.
She looked up and was shocked to see him, she had been lost in her own thoughts and grief that she had no idea when he came out of the gate.
“Leave me alone Logan!” She cried and tried to free her arm from his grasp but the Alpha seized her second hand and held her firmly while she struggled.
The annoyed cab man yelled a curse at them and sped off with his door open.
“Just leave me alone Logan, go back to your mate!” Crystal yelled, still struggling to escape from his clutch.
“Calm down Crystal, please listen to me,” Logan yelled, but she would not stay calm.
“No Logan, I don’t want to hear it, please just let me go. I promise I won’t bother you again,” she said amidst tears.
When Logan saw that she would not stop wriggling and trying to be freed, he let go of her arm, cupped her cheeks and kissed her deeply.
Crystal tried to fight at first, she kept beating him on the chest with her little hands that did not even hurt him in any way. After four to five strikes, she gave up and got carried away by the taste of his lips.
That feeling of electric sparkles swept through her body from head to toe and she went calm. After a few minutes, Logan broke the kiss and left her panting and fighting for breath. His lips always had this effect on her.
Then she made what she considered a second mistake, she looked into his eyes and that moment she knew that it was game over. The sight of those blue, dreamy eyes got her intoxicated and she could not even move a muscle against him, she just stood there like she had been paralyzed, staring at him.
Based on her last words, Logan knew for a fact that she had seen him with Lucy, he thought she must have been the one who broke the flower vase.
“Why are you doing this to me Logan?” She asked in a calm voice and a few drops of tears rolled down her eyes.
Logan used his palm to wipe them dry. “Please don’t cry Crystal, your tears are precious, you should not waste them.”
He pulled her to his chest and hugged her while she cried.
“I am really sorry for whatever you might have seen in there Crystal, I promise you that the whole thing was a mistake, I had caught the scent of your pheromone and I went in heat, Lucy happened to be there by mistake and…”
He paused halfway, not wanting to hurt her more by reminding her of that part, then he suddenly unlocked from the hug.
He raised her chin and looked into her eyes, then he smiled.
“Isn’t the goddess wonderful? You are a werewolf now and my mate too.”
Crystal sniffed in. She smiled and nodded like a kid, then she looked down and blushed.
Logan raised her chin up, he wiped off her tears and kissed her on her forehead.
“I love you Crystal Lennox, be mine please,” he muttered.
Crystal felt a feeling of excitement bubble inside of her the moment he said those words, she looked down shyly.
“You already said it yourself, I am your mate, which means I belong to you,” she replied while avoiding his eyes.
“I am delighted to hear that, in fact I want to claim you the traditional way tonight,” he exclaimed.
“Huh?” Crystal muttered and looked away.
Logan chuckled. “Yes Crystal, I want to place a mark on you tonight, which means you can’t leave!” He stated.
Crystal looked up immediately with wide eyes. “No please Logan, I need to leave. I was actually on my way to market, there is no food in the house for my…” she suddenly paused and Logan looked at her with scrutinizing eyes.
She had almost exposed Aidan’s existence. She was no more scared that he would hurt the little child, but she wanted to make it a surprise after he places his mark on her, she wanted to make sure that he claims her first before telling him about Aidan.
“You were saying?” Logan smirked.
“Yes, I meant that there is no food at home for my step parents to eat, I need to go home and cook for them,” she replied.
Logan growled in disappointment. He really did not want to let go of her.
“But…” she muttered with a sweet smile on her face and his face brightened up in expectation for the good news.
“If I am through with cooking, then I would come over and spend the night here,” she completed her statement with a smirk.
That was the first time Logan had seen her smirk and he loved it.
“Are you sure?” he asked, watching her with scrutiny.
She nodded and he squeezed his face, still watching her with suspicious eyes.
She laughed and looked down.” I promise Logan, I will be here.” She said with a reassuring smile.
“Alright, I will trust you. Make sure to wear something nice, you know what this night is all about,” he said with a mischievous smile and she blushed.
“I know okay, don’t worry, it is also special for me. Now please let me go, I am running late,” she pleaded.
“oh! In that case, let me get my car and take you to the market, then I will also take you home,” Logan suggested.
“No you can’t!” She caught in quickly and Logan frowned. “I mean, there is no need for that, I am sure that I can manage on my own. I will come back later in the evening.” She smiled.
“Hmm, I don’t know what you hide in your house, but I am going to see it one of these days,” he grumbled.
Crystal giggled. “Yes Logan, you will definitely see it one day, and when you see it, I hope that it will bring you happiness but that day won’t be today,” she replied with a serious tone, then she smiled and walked away in the direction of the market.
Her reply left the Alpha puzzled. So she was really hiding something from him? But what could it be? And why does she think it’s necessary to hide it from him?
Her last words had left him confused as he stood at that spot and watched her disappear down the street.
Now that was a mystery he either had to solve himself, or wait for it to be unveiled by her.
