“It’s nothing much, I was in an accident,” Crystal replied.
She gently took her hand down and also looked downwards. Rohan knew that this was the perfect opportunity to get to her, she was weak and vulnerable.
He could sense that she was in a bad mood, so he should use it to his advantage.
“Come with me Crystal, let’s go to my house. It does not look like it will stop bleeding anytime soon.”
Crystal wanted to object, but what was the need of doing that? She wanted space from her desperate step parents, so it was best to follow him.
She consented to his request and they got into his car. Crystal was surprised to know that he had a car. Well, she had never seen him in one and he was always going on foot.
Count Rohan was glad that Crystal had not left the city. When he was unable to reach her earlier, he had feared that she had left the city as she had planned to do.
Now he had more confidence that he would accomplish his task. Once he gets her to trust him and fall in love with him, then he would mate with her and take her powers in the process.
With the help of her powers, he believed that he would be able to secure his position as leader of his tribe. If his illegitimate brother is to take the position for him, then he might go ahead and end his life.
“So… You never told me that you own a car,” Crystal started a conversation, as the silence between them was awkward for her.
“Well… You never asked,” Rohan replied and smiled.
“Well, we are friends right? I don’t necessarily need to ask before you tell me,” she argued.
“Is that so? Hmm… I never knew,” he replied.
“And so what? ignorance is not an excuse,” she stated.
“Fine, I will tell you every other thing in the future. In fact, starting from now. For example, I ate a hot dog this morning,” he smiled and Crystal chuckled softly.
“You are funny, how far is your house from here?” She queried.
“Far? We are already there,” he replied and made a turn to the left.
Crystal looked out through the front glass, and her Jaws slacked in surprise as she saw a very gigantic castle before them.
Rohan got to the gate and honked. A few minutes later, the gate was opened and they drove in.
Crystal was marveled by the beauty of the large compound, she kept staring out of the window as Rohan was trying to pack the car. It was magnificent.
“So you live here?” Crystal queried curiously, while her eyes darted around the castle.
“Yes… This is my dad’s castle,” Rohan replied.
“Hmm… But Michael, I thought you said you had moved to this city recently?” She asked.
“Yes, that is true. This is my dad’s castle but I did not grow here, I only returned months ago.”
“Oh, so that is what you meant?”
“Yes, now quit the question and answer session. Come with me,” he said and got down from the car.
Crystal also came down from the car and followed him, they walked into the castle hallway. It was a bit creepy and that the only light in it was the little red light coming from a few lightbulbs on the ceiling.
The guards in the hallway bowed to them as they walked past. They got to Rohan’s bedroom and he walked in.
Crystal was a bit nervous to follow but he urged her to do so. There was no chair in the room so she had to sit on the large bed, she was feeling very uncomfortable.
Rohan went to a cupboard and brought a first aid box, then he came back to her.
“Okay, let’s see your arm,” he said and sat beside her.
She hesitated for a while but then gave him her hand. He turned it over, so as to be able to access her elbow.
Rohan then started to clean the wounds with methylated spirit. Crystal was surprised that she could still feel pain and her wounds were not healing fast, she wondered if she had lost her powers but Eva was still up there in her head, even though she wasn’t responding.
She guessed that the wolf might be asleep. Rohan started to clean her wounds carefully, he was gentle not to hurt her more. He wondered how her powers were released, the last time he checked, she was still a sealed werewolf.
“So, how did you suddenly become a werewolf?” He asked, while dressing her wounds with cotton wool.
Crystal did not want to tell him about her step parents and the deal they had, so she decided to lie instead.
“I can’t really explain, I just woke up two days ago and found out that I was one.”
“Hmm… I guess it’s a miracle,” Rohan smiled.
He stood up and took the first aid box back to its former position, then he came back and sat beside her on the bed.
They were silently staring at each other for a while, then Rohan spoke.
“You have beautiful lips,” he said in a whisper. “And your eyes too are beautiful, they reflect like lightning.”
Crystal blushed and looked downwards. Rohan held her chin and raised it up, so that she could look into his eyes. They stared at each other for a while, then he brought his lips closer to hers and kissed her.
Crystal wanted to stop him at first but out of curiosity, she let him do it. His lips did not taste or make her feel like Logan’s lips would. She remained calm and let him deepen the kiss but still, she felt nothing.
Then he made her lay with her back on the bed and his hand massaged her thighs, just then she regained her wits and pushed him off gently.
She sat up and looked away.
“I… I… I am sorry Michael, we can’t do this,” she said to him softly while avoiding eye contact with him.
Rohan sighed, he was really angry but he did not want her to know that, so he masked it with a small smile.
“I understand Crystal, I just want you to know that I do love you and I am willing to wait for you till whenever you are ready,” he replied.
Crystal was surprised. This was the first time that he said it out, he clearly told her that he loves her. Although she had expected it all along.
She had no intentions of getting into a relationship with him, but she did not want to hurt him either. So she just nodded

Back at Crystal’s step parent’s house. The old couple were having a discussion in their bedroom.
Her stepmother seemed to be infuriated.
“Can you imagine her audacity to just walk out on us like that, I am telling you Phillips, that girl would not keep to her own side of the deal. It’s better we go with plan B immediately, that would be more efficient.”
“Calm down Martha, let’s give her a little more time, if she does not carry out her own side of the deal as we had agreed, then we would go with plan B,” her stepdad replied.
He knew his wife was very upset at the moment, so he tried to calm her down.
“But where has she gone? It’s been 40 minutes already since she left. I thought she said she wanted to catch some fresh air, so where has she gone in her quest for fresh air?” Her step mum asked with a bit of sarcasm in her tone.
“Don’t worry about that, I know where she has gone and she will be back soon. Forget about that, have you given food to her son? He must be hungry,” Philips said
“Food? Why should that bother me? I am not a slave and I don’t care about her son,” she retorted.
“Really? So if he dies of hunger, then how would we use him to our advantage?” Phillips queried. “You are not in the right state of mind right now, so calm down, take a deep breath in, and out.” He instructed.
She obeyed her husband’s instructions, then she realized he was right after all.
“Alright, I will go and get him something to eat now,” she said, this time around in a calm, gentle tone.
Crystal’s actions earlier had really pissed her off.
Philips nodded and she left the room, heading for the kitchen. The old man sighed and walked to his window, his wife was really an angry monster
He wondered what crystal could be up to now.
“This wasn’t part of the plan, but it’s going to be fun as well,” he muttered to himself and laughed evilly.
