Logan lay on his bed trying to force himself to sleep but the thoughts of Crystal filled his mind, he had not seen her since the day of the accident and he had not heard of her either.
He was still curious to know why she behaved the way she did that day. Was she still upset with him? Maybe he should go and see her, he should clear things up with her once and for all, he should know what her feelings are for him.
His mind told him that she loves him but her actions said differently. Was he mistaken about that?
He hates to believe that she hates him, because the only thing he wants to do is love her unconditionally. Was that too much to ask for?
His human side was still restless about the issue when his wolf came to worsen it, the animal suddenly became restless and he wondered why, it was saying something to him which he did not want to listen to.
Unable to sleep, he stood up and walked to the television, he turned it on but the sounds coming from it was like a disturbance to his ears, he had never felt this uncomfortable before, not even on full moon nights.
He decided to take a shower but the moment he got into the bathroom, a strong pheromone struck his nose and his wolf howled in excitement.
That pheromone smelled like Crystal but it was way more stronger, he had no doubt it was a werewolf.
Who could he or she be and what was he supposed to make out of this?
His wolf’s reaction to the scent was confusing to him, then it pronounced that very word that always bothered him.
“Mate!!”
What? Mate?
Zach confirmed it by howling a second time, urging him to go get his mate. His wolf was almost out, if he wasn’t an Alpha who had more control over his wolf then it would have taken over right now.
The scent was coming from the backyard. Who could be there? Was she in the castle or in the woods behind?
His destined mate had finally shown up after all these years, who could she be and where has she been all this while?
He needed to find her immediately in order to quench his curiosity, a part of him told him that it was Crystal but then she was not a werewolf and her pheromone was not as strong as this.
He darted out to the bedroom and headed for the door.

Crystal was still in shock with what had just happened. Was this a mistake or did Lucy really want to kill her?
She stood there watching Lucy with surprise etched on her face. She was still trying to catch her breath after the attack.
Lucy stood up and put on a hunted expression on her face. What was she supposed to do now?
Her plan had failed and had no chance of succeeding since her target was now also a werewolf, a strong one at that.
“Lucy, did you call me here so that you could kill me?” Crystal asked in a state of confusion, her heart was still racing as she had not expected the attack.
Lucy stood there without giving her a reply, she was shocked as well.
Just then, Crystal caught Logan’s scent and she had no doubt that he was coming that way.
Thanks to her enhanced senses, she could smell him from a distance, she could also hear his footsteps approaching.
Crystal remembered what had happened the last time she saw Logan, he had risked his life to save her and she just abandoned him there.
She could not bring herself to face him, she was feeling guilty.
Quickly she turned around and scampered through the broken fence, she ran into the bushes and from there to the clearer woods.
The leaves still had water on them as it had rained the previous night, unconsciously she received minor cuts from the thorny plants in the woods.
She got to the end of the woods and ran out to the highway, but she had come out at the wrong time.
Just as she made her way out, she collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and she fell. The man on the bike got up and sped off in fear that he had killed someone.
Well, no one wants to get arrested for something that is not entirely their fault.
Crystal groaned in pain as she watched the motorcycle flee, she had been injured.
Maybe this was karma paying her a visit for what she had done to her mate. She got back on her feet amidst the pain that had spread through her body and kept running.
She had bruised that particular elbow again and her left shoulder was dislocated.

Logan came out of the main door and headed to the backyard through the corners of the castle, he was scared and anxious at the same time.
What if his mate turned out to be someone else rather than Crystal? Then he would have three women in his life to choose from, he would have to choose between her, Lucy and his beloved Crystal. That would be a disaster.
Logan got to the backyard and was surprised to see Lucy there, she was the only one there but he was certain that the pheromone did not belong to her.
His mate was here but where has she gone and why did she leave?
“Logan, are you alright?” Lucy asked, trying to pretend like nothing had happened.
She feared that Logan might have caught Crystal’s scent.
“What are you doing here and where is she?” Logan queried while pacing around restlessly.
His eyes darted around to the environment and then into the bush. From how bent the bushes were, he was certain that someone had passed through there.
“Who are you talking about? There was no one here,” Lucy replied, ignoring the first question.
She never expected that Logan would catch Crystal’s scent from his room, it was quite a distance from here.
“My mate, where is she?” Logan growled.
Lucy was shocked. Did he just say mate? Was he referring to Crystal as his mate?
“I could sense her Lucy, she was here, my soulmate was here,” Logan persisted while fidgeting.
“No Logan, no one was here. I think you are mistaken, I mean you haven’t found your mate so how could she be here?” Lucy asked, trying to mislead him but the Alpha knew what he was talking about.
“I know Lucy but I felt her presence close, she was here, my soulmate was here, the chosen one was here! She was here Lucy!”
Lucy felt her world came crashing down on her, everything had gone horribly wrong.
Crystal has become a werewolf and Logan’s destined mate at that, now not only would she not be able to kill Crystal easily but Crystal’s relationship with Logan will get stronger.
Now her dreams of becoming Luna were about to be ruined.
“I need to find her!” Logan said and before she could stop him, he jumped over the fence and ran into the woods like a lunatic.
“No… No, this can’t be happening,” Lucy muttered and held the Castle walls for support, as her legs could barely carry her.
What would she do now?
If Logan finds Crystal, it’s game over for her!
