* * * * * Lucy’s POV * * * * *
I dropped from the cab and hurried into the castle. I just received a phone call informing me that Logan was injured in an accident, so I decided to come and check on him. I wonder why he did not even care to tell me
I walked into his Chambers then further to his bedroom. I didn’t bother knocking, it’s not like I am supposed to anyway, it’s my future bedroom.
Blake, his Beta was sitting beside the bed while Logan was laying on it. Blake excused himself the moment he saw me. I don’t get along with him and there is no doubt that he does not like me either.
“Babe,” I called as I sat beside him, close to where Blake was previously seated.
There was not much evidence of the injury visible as it had almost healed up completely.
“What happened?” I queried.
“It’s nothing Lucy, I am alright,” he replied and gave me a fake smile. Yeah, that was definitely a fake one.
“Don’t tell me it’s nothing Logan, you were in an accident, tell me. How did it happen?” I queried.
I was concerned about his life, only because it revolves around my future as the Luna of this pack. No Logan, no Luna!
“Well I was taking Zach on a run and I got hit by a car,” he replied.
“Got hit by a car? Since when do cars ride in the woods? And if it was not in the woods, then why would you be taking a run with your wolf on the highway?” I asked while glaring suspiciously at him.
What was he not telling me?
“No, it was both. I mean that I was running in the woods, then after I shifted, I decided to trek back through the highway,” he replied.
Why do I get the feeling that he is lying?
“Alright, but you should be more careful next time, you know you are the Alpha of this pack, the only heir of the late Alpha. What do you think would happen if we lost you?”
“That’s not going to happen Lucy,” he said assuredly.
Good… it better don’t, at least until you place a mark on me and I bear a pup for you.
“Alright, so have you had any food?” I asked.
That was me just trying to be a good mate, it’s not like it matters to me.
“No. Do you want to make something for me?’ he asked.
Ah! Maybe I should not have asked, this is not why I came here, why does he keep insisting to treat me like a housewife Luna?
“Um…Not really, I would ask the maids to make something special for you,” I replied with a fake smile on my face.
I stood up, about to leave but he held my arm and drew me back, making me sit back on the bed.
For someone injured, he seems to have a lot of strength. “What’s wrong Logan?”
“I was just wondering why you can’t make my food yourself,” he said.
I groaned. “Come on Logan, please let’s not go down that road,” I replied with an appealing expression on my face.
He stared at me for a while, then sighed and let go of my hand. I forced a smile, then kissed him on his cheeks, his lips next.
I know Logan is hiding something from me, he is so terrible at lying. I would just have to ask that his foolish Beta.

I saw Blake outside the mansion, he was passing some information to the gateman.
I could see fear flickering in the eyes of the gateman the moment he saw me. I bet he hasn’t forgotten the mighty slap I gave him the other day.
“Get lost!” I waved at him as I approached them and he ran off.
Humans are so pathetic, I don’t know why Logan even hires them and has any relationship with them.
“Lucy, I was talking to that man you just scared away,” Blake said with a frown on his face.
I see. So now he feels like he can question my actions. This Beta wolf would be one of the first people to lose their jobs and get demoted from their ranks when I become Luna.
“So what if you were talking to him? I wanted to talk to you, that’s why I sent him away” I retorted in defense.
“Alright, how can I help you?” He asked with a plain face.
I have my suspicions that this young man would have plans of killing Logan if he ever gets the opportunity. I mean, Logan doesn’t have a son or a brother and Blake is his second in command, so if anything was to happen to Logan, then this man would automatically be made the next Alpha.
“You are Logan’s friend so I want to know the truth, how did he really get hurt?” I queried.
He gave me that look like saying “So you don’t believe your mate?”
“Um… it’s exactly what he had told you, he was hit by a car on the highway while returning from his run in the woodlands,” Blake replied.
I stood there examining his face for any sign of lies. Was it that he also did not know the real truth or that he lied to me as well?
“Alright, that was not of any help to me but thanks,” I said.
I still need his services in the future, so I should try to be in his good books so that I can get what I want from him.
He nodded and I walked away, heading to the servant’s quarters.
Maybe Logan and Blake were telling the truth, I should stop being suspicious for nothing and how else could he have possibly gotten injured? It can’t be a fight because Logan is not the type that gets into fights.
Even if he was, no fight can cause him so much damage to have him bedridden.
I got to the servant’s quarters and instructed the cook on what food to prepare for Logan, then I walked out.
As I was heading back to the main building, I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me into a hidden corner of the building. I tried to scream but he closed my mouth with his palm.
I looked up and it was Simon. How dare he?
Gently he let go of my mouth and I stomped his feet angrily.
“How dare you Simon? I thought I made it clear that we were over? You are not on my level!” I yelled, trying to keep my voice low at the same time.
“Oh! Then I guess you don’t need the information I have, I should just leave,” he replied and turned around.
“Wait!” I said quickly and pulled him back. “What is it about?” I queried.
“First, apologize, then you kiss me.” He smirked.
Arrrghhh!! I would kill this son of a bitch the moment I become Luna, how dare he play games with me?
I did what he asked for and he smiled sheepishly.
“I had almost forgotten the taste of your lips.” He laughed.
“Shut up and tell me what information you have, it better be worth it or I would have your head chopped off!” I really meant that threat.
“Of course it’s worth it my darling, I bet you would love to know how your soon to be mate got injured.”
My eyes widened the moment he said that and I nodded in the affirmative.
“Well Logan got badly injured while trying to save Crystal from a car accident, he ran into the road and blocked the car from hitting her with his body,” Simon reported.
“What? That’s a lie!” I retorted. It can’t be!
“You can believe it or leave it, I overheard him telling Blake, now if you would excuse me, I have somewhere else to be,” Simon said and walked away.
I was left in shock. So they had lied to me? Forget that, if Logan put his life at risk to save Crystal, it can only mean that he is in love with her, he had lied to me that she was just a substitute for pleasure, that he had no feelings for her.
How could he do that to me? How could he cheat on me like that? I had totally believed his words, I was a fool to trust him.
Now I am going to make that girl suffer, no! Not to suffer, I am really going to kill her this time, she dated to get in between my mate and I.
In order to secure my position as Luna, it’s necessary that I kill her, but how do I go about it? Should I kill her secretly or have her attacked openly?
What does it matter? She is a pathetic human and getting rid of her would be way too easy.
I left the corner and headed towards Logan’s Chambers. Blake was still standing outside the main door, he looked at me suspiciously but I ignored him. His name was not the priority on my hit list right now.
