“In a couple of days, there will be an open lecture by him. Your research has hit a bottleneck, hasn’t it? Are you going? Maybe you’ll get some new inspiration.”
Bridger, a former researcher at the Academy of Sciences, had a grandfather who made significant contributions to Ylosea. The Kaiser family holds an unparalleled position in Ylosea, far surpassing several Hudson families combined.
Bridger is only 25 years old this year and got married last year. It is said that his wife was his childhood sweetheart. They keep a low profile in public; not even a photo or her name can be found.
After his marriage, Bridger resigned from his research position and ventured into business, primarily running clubs and other gray industries.
Given his family’s status, his career naturally flourished.
Among his peers in Ylosea, apart from Nelson, Bridger’s achievements are the most genuine. The patents he has obtained and the articles he has published are enough to qualify him to lecture at universities.
But he is often reluctant to do so.
Mollie recalled Bridger’s appearance. “He is incredibly charming. I might not be able to compete with his admirers.”
Her roommate thought about it and lost her enthusiasm as well.
“Bridger’s wife is so lucky to marry him!”
Mollie glanced at the message from her mother.
-Come to Taiho tonight.
“Think about it this way: Bridger is newly married, so he’s even less likely to be interested in the school’s admirers.”
Her roommate was instantly comforted by this thought.
“You’re right.”
Her roommate had class in the evening and left first. Mollie took a taxi to Taiho, a famous wealthy district. On the roadside, several women were surrounding a young woman, speaking and shoving her, revealing half of her underwear.
It was a famous brand-Secret Agent.
Tired of such scenes, Mollie looked away.
When she arrived at her destination, Mollie understood why her mother had called her there.
Today was Old Mr. Kaiser’s birthday banquet. From the entrance, one could see an array of Maybachs, Maseratis, and BMWs.
“Mollie, greet them.”
Her mother’s voice brought Mollie back to reality. In front of her were Bridger’s parents, who looked kind and approachable.
“Hello, Mr. And Mrs. Kaiser.”
This was Mollie’s first visit to the Kaiser family home, which was in a classic style and about six hundred square meters. There were people everywhere in small groups.
It was said that Old Mr. Kaiser hadn’t held a birthday banquet for many years because his youngest grandson died on this day. To avoid reminding everyone of the sad event, he simply stopped hosting them.
This year, perhaps he had come to terms with it.
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Mollie saw Marely sitting in a wheelchair. She was left in a corner, dressed like a lavish doll-beautiful on the outside but soulless.
Her mother threatened her, “Take this banquet seriously. You’re about to graduate. Making connections with influential people early on won’t hurt you. This is a rare opportunity! Understand?”
So she changed into the dress her mother brought for her-a green off-the-shoulder gown that was dazzlingly white. When she bent over, a hint of cleavage could be seen.
Bridger got out of the car with a gift and saw this scene as he passed through the garden.
Mollie stood by the gardenias, chatting happily with a young wealthy man. The man peeled a candy and fed it to her mouth. Mollie stuck out her tongue and licked it in.
Bridger watched this action without any reaction and continued walking forward.
“Where is Old Mr. Kaiser?”
“In the study, writing with some renowned guests. Sir, this way please.”
With so many people around, the Hudson family members of this generation were not qualified to dine at the same table as the Kaiser family members. So despite being at the not-so-large Kaiser family home, Mollie didn’t run into Bridger.
“Mollie, go keep your sister company for a while.” Her mother gave her a look.
Mollie sat still for half a minute before finally going over.
