“Bruno.”She rushed to him but he didn’t even touch her or look at her she might as well not be there, he set her away from him his rejection hurt she had thought by now he would be calm but clearly it’s not the case. He began to walk away from her.”Bruno. We need to talk about what happened yesterday.”She blocked his way.
“So you can feed me more of your lies.”The coldness with which he was talking to her stung further.”Where’s your necklace?”
“It’s around my-..”But her voice trailed of when she couldn’t feel it around her neck. When and how did it come off she didn’t even know it wasn’t on her neck anymore.”I do-..”
“Don’t bother to explain yourself, I don’t wanna hear it.”He moved past her, she followed him to their bedroom.
“I’ve done nothing wrong Bruno I can never think of being with another man when I love you so much and to know that’s how less you think of me hurts.”
“Well it hurt to find my wife in my brother’s arms, you have no idea how badly I wanna rip out his heart for touching you, for having his hands all over you to touch you the way I do. It kills me from within to know he slept with my wife my own brother my own flesh and blood someone I trusted.”

“And you.”He spat.”How could you do this me. To us, to what we have. You took our love and stepped on it.”
“Don’t say that.”She said voice thick with emotion.”I’d never do such a thing.”
“You betrayed me, our love, you betrayed my love for you. You destroyed it all just for a moment of weakness. Why Sage. Does what we have mean so little to you.”His words carried anger but she could hear the pain in them, he’s hurt and she’s afraid nothing she’ll say or do will convince him otherwise.
“Bruno please I swear on the love I have for you that I never slept with Hugo. How can I give my body to another when it belongs to you, and do you really think so little of me that you believe I slept with your brother.”
“Clearly for you it wasn’t hard.”He spat in a harsh tone.
“What will it take for you to believe me, that I’m telling you the truth.”She said in a desperate voice.”I love you I’d never do such a thing.”
“I also love you dammit!”He ground out.”But you’ve hurt me Sage more than any woman has, more than Maya has, your betrayal hurts more than anything I won’t ever forgive you for this.”
Sage’s throat clogged up with tears.”Don’t say that Bruno. We can work through this all of this is a misunderstanding.”
“I don’t think we’ll ever work through this, every time I look at you I see his hands all over you, touching you, kissing you, making love to you.”He said through clenched teeth.”I don’t believe the love I have for you will allow me to forgive you.”
“Bruno please…”She said, tears streaking down her face.”You have to believe me.”
“I don’t. I can’t.”He said coldly.
“Will you throw away what we have.”
“You threw that away Sage, not me. Any future we could’ve had you destroyed it. All I see when I look at you now is the mother of Liam and Logan that’s all nothing more.”

“Something that can be easily rectified, as for having a wife she died the second she slept with my brother.”
“You don’t mean that.”She said going over to him.
“I’d appreciate it if you keep your distance, I don’t want you near me, not after you’ve been in my brother’s arms.”
“So what. Are we getting a divorce.”Oh lord please no she won’t be able to stand it she can’t live without this man.
“It’s a possibility. I thought you were different from your mother clearly I was wrong you fooled me Sage congratulations no one has ever managed to fool Bruno Romero but you did.”His eyes were cold, if he had loved her once then that love was no more instead those eyes carry anger, pain, hurt even hatred. She sank down on the bed when he went into the bathroom, Sage cried not caring if anyone can hear her, she was hurting too the one man she cannot live without she’s lost him and everything they had and shared. Her one true love. Where did things go wrong, what happened for them to reach this point she herself cannot understand or make sense of everything. She shed tears of pain hurt and anger, of what could’ve been I thought you were different from your mother those words stung they cut deep because she wasn’t like her mother.
How could Bruno even say that to her, will he ever forgive her for something she hasn’t done can they over come this. She cried up until she fell asleep when she woke again it was late afternoon Margarita came to her and told her Kim was here to see her, Sage dragged herself out of bed and into the bathroom. She wonders where Bruno is she won’t give up on him and their love, she’ll fight for him and what they have.”Sage. Are you okay? What happened.”
She drank the tea Margarita has brought but it has no taste.”I’m okay.”
“No you’re not.”Kim covered her hand.”You’ve been crying I can see it in your eyes. Does this got to do with Bruno looking for you yesterday.”
“He did.”Sage asked shocked.
“Yes, he stopped by the house and came looking for you. Talk to me.”She didn’t know Bruno was looking for her yesterday and how did he find out where she was. No one had known she had went to see Carmen.”Sage I’m talking to you.”
“We had a fight nothing serious.”She said, if she wanted answers she’s gonna have to talk to Hugo and Katherine.”Look Kim thanks for stopping by but I need to go out I’ll call you later.”Sage left leaving Kim behind in the living room she’ll get to the bottom of this, she wasn’t guilty of anything and she knows without proof Bruno won’t believe her, she loves him more than life itself and she’ll prove she never slept with Hugo. Katherine answered the door when she got there Sage pulled her outside and asked her a few questions before going back inside to look for Hugo. She found him with Maya and Carmen out on the patio drinking tea.
“Sage. What a nice surprise.”Maya greeted her so lovingly so she can only assume neither Hugo or Bruno has told her about yesterday.”I hope you brought the twins.”Sage gave them each a hug and a kiss.
“No they not feeling well.”She said.”Logan has an ear infection and can’t come out.”
“No wonder you didn’t come yesterday, Katherine told me you were here when I got back from meeting Mrs Jacobs, sorry I wasn’t here dear and you waited for nothing but I completely forgot I had to attend a charity event at one of our charity organisations. I should’ve called to let you know.”
“It’s okay. I actually came to see Hugo.”She said.”Maya if you don’t mind.”
“Of course not.”She said with a smile.”He’s all yours.”
Hugo led her to a study.”Sorry for dropping by unannounced.”
“I take it Bruno still thinks there’s something going on between us.”Sage nodded.”He’s so stubborn.”
“Tell me about it. You haven’t told Maya.”
“Not yet. She’s halfway in her pregnancy any stress at this moment isn’t good for the babies I’ll tell her just not now. You wanted to talk.”
“Uhm.. yes. I spoke to Katherine when I got here yesterday and she said no one was here then how come you were here.”
“I was in Madrid with Maya but had to come back and work on my new album that will be released in a few months, I knew no one was home so I didn’t announce my arrival Katherine must have been out back when I arrived she wouldn’t have heard me this house is big.”
“It makes sense.”Sage agreed.”But it still doesn’t explain how I got into your bed undressed, with our clothes strewn all over the floor.”
“You mentioned everything went blank after you drank the tea.”
“Yes Katherine brought me tea after a few sips I began to feel dizzy, almost sleepy my head felt really heavy I set the tea down to got up but I fell down and when I woke again it was in your bed.”
