“Remember you.”She gave him a puzzled look.”Am I suppose to know who you are.”She needed to sit down all this standing is making her dizzy, nauseous, she looked at the guy again strangely enough he does seem familiar with his blonde hair and blue eyes, and lean body she’s seen his face somewhere then it came to her.”You’re the bartender.”
His hand came around her waist.”Finally. The night is still young I have lots of plans for you.”
“What are you talking about. I’m not going anywhere with you.”She wanted to move away from him but he wouldn’t let go.”Let go of me.”
“I’m not gonna do that.”His hand came up to touch her cheek.”I can’t wait for us to be alone, the things I’m gonna do to you.”
“I’m not sleeping with you. I’m.. I’m engaged.”
“Then I’ll give you a night to remember.”He said, kissing the side of her neck.
She pushed him away but didn’t have the strength.”Do you have any idea who my fiance is.”
“It doesn’t matter lady, you left me a note saying I should wait for you and I did.”
“A note. I never left you a note I don’t even know you.”Her gaze ran over him. “And I don’t like you. Now let me go.”
“I’m afraid I can’t do that you too sweet for me to let you go. I like you.”
“Oh Bruno. Where are you? I need you. You gonna regret this.”She mumbled. “When my fiance finds out about this you’re gonna be sorry.”
“I doubt lady.”
“I think you should listen to the lady.”A familiar voice said, Sage lifted her heavy head to look her eyes clashed with Bruno’s, a loving smile spread over her face without thinking twice she ran and flung her arms around his neck.
He embraced her, security, protection at last she sighed.”Mr Romero..”The guy said.
“You have five seconds to tell me where you were about to take my fiancee or I promise you’ll be sitting in a wheelchair for the rest of your life being taken care of like a baby.”
“Bruno he isn’t worth it. Please all I wanna do is go home.”
“If he’d been a gentleman he would’ve made sure you get home safely instead of trying to take advantage of you.”
“He’s right.”She told the guy.”You weren’t a gentleman.. you tried.. you-“She knew she was about to faint her hold on Bruno tighten for a few seconds.
“Bruno.. I-..”She didn’t get to finish her sentence as she blacked out right in Bruno’s arms.
When she woke again it was to find herself in bed wearing her night dress she sat upright and a piercing pain slashed across her forehead making her lie down again. A warm hand touched her cheek her eyes snapped open and she was face to face with Bruno he held out a glass to her.”Here. Drink this you’ll feel better tomorrow morning.”
“It’s not morning yet.”She mumbled.”How long have I been out.”She took the glass and drank everything.”That tasted terrible.”
He smiled.”You’ll thank me in the morning. How are you feeling?”
“Apart from this terrible headache I feel fine. Thank you.”
“For what?”He asked sitting down next to her.
“Saving from that guy I was so drunk I didn’t have the strength to fight him.”
“Well he’ll learn the hard way not to mess with my fiance.”
“How did you know where I was, we got cut off before I could tell you.”
His eyes fell on her wrist watch.”I’ll always be here to protect you beautiful one thing you cannot do is hide from me.”
“Remind me never to go out with your cousin Camille, she’s a party addict.”
“I’m never letting you go out anywhere without me.”He told her.”Your life is something I won’t risk for anything.”
“I hope I didn’t ruin your night.”She remembers Camille telling her he won’t expect her back for the night.
“No. I was home waiting for you.”
“You were.”Sage asked surprised.”I thought.. Camille told me Hugo and-..”
“They did but I wasn’t feeling it. Something was missing so I decided to come home and when I got here I realise why I couldn’t enjoy myself because you weren’t with me.”
Sage felt bad she had a great time and he came home to wait for her.”I’m sorry for making you wait.”
“It’s okay after our wedding I’m not letting you out of my sight.”He caressed her cheek.”Get some rest. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“You not gonna join me.”
“If I do I won’t keep my hands off you and we both know what happens when I touch you. You need rest.”
“I won’t mind if you touch me I like it when you do.”He grinned.”Don’t go. Stay with me I missed being with you.”
“Sage..”He said.
“Please. I wanna tell you something, something I should’ve told you a while back.”She wants him to know the truth about her mother what’s the point of keeping it from him when he’ll be her husband come tomorrow from her side she doesn’t want to hide anything from him anymore. He took of his shoes and came to lie down next to her, fully clothed Sage leaned into him and slipped her arms around his waist. For a long while they laid quietly in each other’s arms he just held her in the safety of his embrace.”I lied about not knowing my biological parents or at least my mother, I have no idea who my real father is.” When he kept quiet Sage continued.”My mother was a prostitute, she uhm.. she slept with rich men only to have this comfortable lifestyle you’re living right now.”
