Night has come. The day before they started to ambush Matthias’ secret base. Damian is sitting on the bed. His fingers fiddled with the bracelet that tangled on his wrist. He lost in thought, didn’t even realise someone walked in.
Riccardo leans on the doorway, “Sleep is important since you’re going to use a lot of energy for tomorrow.”
“What do you want?” Damian sighs in annoyance.
“Someone is starting to miss his wife,” he grins.
Damian glanced at him, “Unlike you who don’t even have a wife.”
He arches his eyebrows. He didn’t expect Damian not to deny what he said. Riccardo lets out a small chuckle.
“So, you do miss her, huh?”
“What? Is it wrong for a husband to miss and worry about his wife who is probably having a gun on her head by the enemy?” Damian said in sarcasm.
Who wouldn’t be thinking about their wife after knowing they are with enemies right now. If Damian didn’t listen to his friends, he was probably going to Matthias right now and kill him right away.
But he’s smart enough not to do that.
“It has been so long I didn’t see you like this after Damien is gone,” Riccardo speaks.
“That woman just did something to me,” he shrugs his shoulder. “Anyway, she did a lot. She changed everything to the better one.”
“Don’t worry, mate. We will save her, I guarantee it.” Riccardo smiles.
He is willing to do whatever just to let Damian get his life back. Damian stops fiddling with the bracelet and lifts his head. His bored eyes stare right into Riccardo.
“Are you sure you are fine with this?” He asks.
“Fine with what?”
“About killing Matthias. He is your father-are you sure you are fine with it? You know I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot him right on the forehead.” Damian said firmly.
Riccardo paused for a moment. Yes, that old man is his father, but that old man has also ruined everyone’s life. Not even once Matthias did something that called ‘father’ toward him.
He has been greedy in his whole life.
Not even spare a glance toward his wife, his son.
The memories of his mother, who passed away without a husband by her side, flash inside his mind. When the news reached Matthias, he didn’t even care to ask or show any emotion about it.
Instead…
‘She is just a burden. I felt glad she died anyway. Don’t bother me with that bitch. Leave,’
Riccardo, who was just 4 years old at that time, standing there, watching his father continue having an affair with other women.
His wife passed away and he doesn’t even bother to check.
Since that day, Riccardo has been raised by the servant. Without the servant, he probably would have ended up dead.
‘Just go kill yourself, kid.’
‘You’re just a mistake in this world.’
‘You should be dead with your mother.’
He did everything to make his father impressed with him, to make Matthias notice his son when he was 12 years old. He practices a lot with his skills, doing everything his father asks. Yet, Matthias never appreciated it.
That old man is just taking advantage of it.
‘If you want to impress me, I want you to destroy your friend’s life, Damian.’
Blinded by the eagerness to impress his father, Riccardo did it without any second thought.
That one night, the cold winds brushing their skin. The mansion was on fire. Damian is on his knees, trembling not by fear but…the sadness that takes over him. Tears streaming down his cheeks.
He felt like he could hear his twin screaming in pain and asking for help.
Meanwhile Riccardo was standing behind him, covered in guilt. Did he just ruin someone’s life? Did he just destroy his best friend’s life? The only one who shows affection toward him.
The only family that he can seek for love.
He ruined everything…
He is slowly becoming like her father.
After that happened, he left without any words. He works everything for himself to survive, living in guilt. He thought he would never meet Damian again. When he met him with Melody at the hotel, he felt like he was being given a second chance to fix everything.
“Are you done with ‘lost in thought’?” Damian’s voice snaps him out.
He clears his throat, “Sorry. Anyway, no. I don’t mind you killing him.”
“Where is this coming from?” Damian inquired.
“You didn’t expect me to say that?” Riccardo arches his eyebrows.
“I thought you…wouldn’t agree to it,” he shrugs. “He is your dad after all.”
Riccardo scoffs. He stands straight and turns around, ready to leave. He looks at him over his shoulder.
“I told you he is not my father. I never considered him as my father. Not even a family. Like how he sees me as a mistake,”
Damian could see the anger and pain in his eyes that he had been held since a kid.
“I want you to shoot him right in his forehead. I trust you, Dam.”
Riccardo leaves the room and shuts the door. Damian just sits there and sighs. He knows what that man is going through. Melody was right. He should let Riccardo talk even for a moment.
That’s when he can see the truth in his words.

Melody woke up by the water splash on her. She coughed and lifted her head. Matthias holding the empty bucket and throws it aside.
“Good morning, little princess,” he smirks.
“Is it necessary for you to splash the water on me?” Melody sneers.
“What? Never being woken up by that?” Matthias chuckles. “Anyway, I need you to do something for me.”
He gives a signal to the guards to drag her along. The guard nods and holds her up from the chair. Melody is struggling in their rough grips.
“Let me go!” She yells.
“Shut up, women. You are so loud. I don’t know how Damian keeps it up with you,” Matthias grunts in annoyance.
She grins, “He loves when I’m loud…especially on the bed.”
Matthias glanced at her with disgust, knowing what she was trying to say. He shakes his head, as he didn’t understand this type of person.
“Of course he is.”
“Poor you. You never experience someone pitching on the bed, aren’t you?” Melody grins.
“It’s so annoying to have someone loud. I’d rather wanted them to be obedience, unlike you,” he scoffs. He stops in front of the door and turns to her, “Damian is probably annoyed with you.”
“No, he didn’t. The louder I become, the rougher he pounces,” she smirks.
The guards who holding her shiver as she talks about that. It is kind of uncomfortable since Melody is being too honest about it. They expect her to hide it even just a little bit.
Matthias looks at her with disgust, “You can stop that. You are so delusional.”
“I’m sorry you didn’t experience that kind of thing. I guess all the flings that you fuck must be fake all their pleasure,” she laughs.
The old man looked at her with anger. How he wished he could kill her right here and now. Without saying anything, he turns around and pushes the door open. They walk into his office.
“You have been with Damian for months, so I believe you know everything, aren’t you?” He sits on his chair.
She narrows her eyes on him, “What do you want?”
“I need you to put in the password in this,” he turns his laptop to her. “I need the access and I believe you know it.”
“What makes you so sure that I know everything inside and out of Damian’s clan?” Melody scoffs.
“You are his wife. You have access to everything in his clan. If you didn’t know that means you are stupid for not taking the chance,” Matthias leans on his chair, insulting her.
“Well, unfortunately you are right. I am stupid for not taking the chance. Let me think why…” she looks at him with sarcasm, “Maybe because I don’t even care about it! I’m his wife and I don’t need to know everything about his clan.”
“Unlike you who are so greedy and-oh! Not to mention nosy.”
Matthias glares at her, “So, you didn’t know the access through this? Or anything?”
“No, you old man.”
He let out a big sigh. He thought he could get some information from this woman, even a little bit. But seeing the way she looks, he knows she’s telling the truth about not knowing anything.
“You are so useless. I felt regret for taking you instead of his clan members,” he pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Hah! That’s how you know you are stupider than me!” She laughs.
Matthias growls, “Bring her out before I shoot her.”
The guard nods and drags her out, who is still laughing. That woman is crazy, that’s for sure. That’s what he thought. He stares at the laptop, thinking his next move. He knows Damian is probably on his move.
Trying to find his precious wife.
“He wouldn’t make it here. Riccardo didn’t even know this secret base.” Matthias talking to himself.
