ROGAN
Rogan pulled up his phone and saw an unknown number. He knew exactly who it belonged to.
“Ethan,” he barked into the phone.
He walked away from Raynar and Bonnie. Rogan didn’t want them to hear anything. He didn’t know why Ethan was calling him and Rogan didn’t want to risk them hearing anything they shouldn’t hear. He didn’t want to upset them.
“Why the fuck do you have my sister?” Ethan yelled through the phone.
“Why the fuck?”
Rogan sighed. This was how it was going to go.
“You better not be fucking hurting her, you piece of shit. If I find out she’s been hurt even a little bit, you’ll be dead,” Ethan yelled. “Better yet, you’ll be dead anyways once I get my hands on you.” “Ethan,” Rogan calmly said.
Rogan wanted to make it work between them since he was in love with Bonnie. He didn’t want her to have to pick between either one of them. It wasn’t fair to her.
“Shut the fuck up. Let me have her,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, you shut the fuck up,” Rogan growled. “For one fucking second, you shut up and listen to me.”
Ethan went silent and Rogan grinned. He actually fucking listened.
“We’re going to meet and talk,” Rogan said. “I don’t care how you feel about that or whether you want to or not, we’re going to talk. We’ve got several things to discuss.”
“Like what?”
“A misunderstanding that your sister, one of the loves of my life, mentioned to me.”
“The what?” Ethan yelled.
“Bonnie is one of the people I love with my whole heart.”
“You cannot fucking love my sister! You can’t be with her!”
“I am and there is nothing you can do about it. We’re going to meet up and talk like grown men.”
Silence filled the line. Had Rogan shocked him into silence?
“I want Bonnie to be there.” Ethan finally spoke.
“Fuck no,” Rogan replied. “Over my dead body will she come.”
“That can be arranged.”
“She will not be coming. It will just be you and I.”
“Fuck no. If we’re going to meet, I want to see my sister.”
Rogan took a deep breath in. He was trying to protect Bonnie. He turned toward Bonnie and Ray, and held the phone out. “Bonnie, say hi.” “Hi?” She sounded confused.
“You see. She’s fine and happy,” Rogan said.
“Not good enough,” Ethan growled. “I want to fucking see her in person. For all I know she could have bruises on her body and god knows what else.”
Rogan growled back, not liking being accused of hurting Bonnie. “I would never do that,” he said. “Bonnie is my life.” “Fucking bring her or it’s war,” Ethan replied.
Rogan looked over at Bonnie and Ray. He could definitely go to war with Ethan and part of him wanted to, but he knew he shouldn’t. He was Bonnie’s brother, and Rogan didn’t want to put any stress on her. He needed to think about her in this situation. It wasn’t just him now. He needed to try and get along with Ethan for Bonnie’s sake.
“Fine,” he replied. “I’ll send you the location we’ll meet up at.” Rogan hung up and walked over to Bonnie and Ray.
“Is e-everything okay?” Bonnie whispered. “What did he want?”
“He wants to see you and we’re going to talk about the misunderstanding,” he replied. “Everything is going to be okay. Let Daddy worry and take care of everything.”
THEY HAD ALL JUST ARRIVED at the abandoned warehouse that Rogan did a lot of business in.
“Bonnie!” He called her name out.
“Yes, Daddy?” He could hear the nerves in her voice. She was scared.
“Lucius is going to stay with both of you. You are to not leave the car unless I give Lucius specific instructions. He has also been given permission to do whatever is necessary and punish you if you disobey,” Rogan said.
“I don’t think that’s fair,” Ray muttered.
“It is. I don’t want to have to worry about you two. Knowing Lucius will do anything and everything in his power to keep you two safe while I meet with Ethan will ease my mind.”
Rogan didn’t like it one bit that they were here with him. He wanted them safely at home while he talked to Ethan.
“Okay, Daddy,” Bonnie whispered.
“Everything is going to be okay,” he assured her. “You’re going to stay in the car and hopefully you won’t have to come out.”
He could see her take in a shaky breath of air. He hated that she was so worried about this. Rogan wanted to take all her hurt and worry away, but he couldn’t right now.
“Bonnie and Ray. I want you to do everything Lucius says to do. Do you understand me?”
“Yes, Daddy,” they both replied at the same time.
Rogan let out a breath of air and nodded his head. “I’ll see you in a couple of minutes.”
He slowly got out of the car and walked toward Ethan, who had several of his men flanked around him. “Ethan,” Rogan said. “Where’s my sister?”
“In the car, safe and sound.”
Rogan hoped he would let it go so they could move on and talk about the miscommunication but that didn’t happen.
“I want to see her,” Ethan demanded.
“No guns,” Rogan said. “I don’t want any fucking guns out when she gets out of the car. Understand?”
Ethan clenched his jaw and nodded his head.
Rogan touched his earpiece. “Bring Bonnie and Ray out.”
