Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-3-13

Jayson’s POV.
“Liam was our son, Emilia. Will you claim not to be interested in knowing who killed our son?” I questioned as I wanted to know where I stood now.
“The last thing I ever did was to hate our child. It’s saddening that you think of me as a mistake of our teenage infatuation, Emilia.” I whined as I cleaned up my tears.
“It’s obvious you never cared after all.” I went ahead as she remained quiet as she kept staring at me.
“I… I will be leaving New Kingston sooner than expected. I guess that will make you happy, isn’t it?” I chuckled painfully as I took a glass cup filled with wine from the bartender that walked past us.
“It’s a beautiful night.” I shrugged as I stood close to the frame as I looked down. “You probably should be down there having an awesome time with your husband and your son, Owen Eriksson. You might not enjoy this forever.” I scowled as I gulped in the entire wine as I turned back to her as I grinned.
I could see the curiosity in her eyes as she stared back at me.
“What do you mean by that?” She said in a calm voice as she looked down to see Owen who was having a great time with Patricia.
“They were just like us.” I smirked as I turned to where they stood. “They are still young and full of life.” I muttered.
“You married into the Eriksson’s family which made you part of the founding families. The whole rules you had to adjust to was draining. And being part of the founding families was something intoxicating.” I sneered as I looked at her.
“It is not forbidden to marry each other as long as you are not related by blood. But then, they have gotten so many things wrong and sooner than expected, all their deeds will eventually catch up with them and you know what?” I said with a frown this time around. “I… won’t feel any sympathy towards them.”
I cursed as my eyes scanned the entire hall as I looked at all of them and my eyes fell lastly on Logan Bohen who just made his way from the left wing of the pack house.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw him walk into the room which led outside the house and the face he had was a suspicious one.
I was able to spot the blood on his head as I quickly turned back to Emilia who was still confused and I could see the curiosity that was still lingering.
“I guess we will see some other time, Emilia. It will be a long night but… make sure you enjoy it.” I said with a broad smile as I looked at her and without saying a single word, I left her all to herself as I exited the building as well.
“Going somewhere?”
I bumped into Grace before I could make it out of the building completely.
“No!” I said as I chuckled softly. “I… I was just going outside to catch some fresh air.” I stuttered as I exhaled lightly as I looked at her.
She furrowed her eyebrows as she looked right into my eyes like she was searching for the true reason why I was rushing out of the house.
“Come on, Grace.” I said as I chuckled softly. “Must you always think I’m running away?” I scoffed as I wore a broad smile on my face.
“Why won’t I? That was the same way you disappeared years ago.” She scowled as she looked at me, raising her eyebrows this time around.
“I just wanted to catch some fresh air, that’s all.” I muttered as I looked at her.
“If you say so then.” She responded as she looked at me. “So, have you spoken to your father?” She asked me as she looked into the big hall.
I turned around as I saw my father who was having a great time talking with Alphonso. I rolled my eyes as I turned to Grace. “Yeah, I have. I think everyone thinks I am here for something. I just came here to spend time with my family.” I muttered as I looked at her.
“Have you seen Logan? I can’t seem to find him.” She asked.
“I will search around for him, okay?” I said with a smile. “Let me just take some fresh air and I will come back. I would love to cut that cake with you all.” I said with a smile as I walked away.
“Going somewhere?” I shrugged as I stepped out of the house.
I was fast enough to have intercepted Logan in the garage as he was about going out.
He turned to me angrily as he looked right into my eyes. “You know what, uncle. Jayson?” He scowled angrily as he looked at me.
“You are the last person I want to speak to, okay?” He cursed. “So, I would appreciate it if you could go back there and enjoy your party. Isn’t that why you came back to New Kingston?” He scowled angrily as he looked at me.
“Must you always pick a fight with me?” I scoffed as I looked at him. “I am just trying to be here for you and all you do is chase me.” I snapped as I raised my eyebrows as I looked at him.
“That is it, Jayson!! I wished I actually wanted you here. I am not a kid for crying out loud and you know what? I am already sick and tired of seeing your face and also, your newly made friend, Collins Morgan or whatsoever you address him like. He is nothing but a psychopath.” Logan cursed angrily as he looked at me right into my eyes.
“And I know he was the person behind this. I would love to see him try. He will only come to accept the fact that he can never bring down the founding families. We are a formidable force and we can’t be broken.” He cursed angrily.
