Sequel Chapter 6

Ian’s POV:
The so-called party now felt like a funeral as we stood in Felix’s bedroom. Tamara was resting her head on her lap, looking exhausted from all the crying she had done. We had been waiting for an hour for her to talk, but she decided to say nothing.
“Hey kiddo, how do you feel when you look at Larson?” I asked for the first time, deciding to break the silence.
She raised her head and looked at me seriously.
“Confused. Last year, I thought nothing of him. He was just my friend, and he treated me the same way. But today, I couldn’t help but notice something different. He looks very attractive, and my heart fluttered when I saw him. I wanted to run into his arms and kiss him. I just wanted to be next to him. I wanted him…”
“That’s enough!” Felix said coldly, cutting her off.
“Ian, may I have a word with you in my office?” she asked, then moved Tamara aside.
“Yes, sure,” I answered simply.
“Amelia, stay with her. I won’t take long,” she said, then stood up from the bed and walked out as I followed.
We walked into her office, and the first thing she did was hit the chair next to her, breaking it.
“How is that even possible!” she screamed at the top of her voice, then turned and looked at me angrily.
Her neatly combed hair, which was backwards, was now covering her forehead, and sweat was forming there. Her fangs were showing, and her breath was labored.
“You mean her feeling the mate pull?” I asked seriously.
“Don’t play dumb, Ian. Us vampires don’t have mates. We don’t even feel anything for them unless they’re our sire or we have sired them! We’re not like other beings that feel the bond or mate pull. We’re different! The only thing we know is how tasty our partner’s blood is. If they aren’t like us, then we end up falling in love or changing them to be like us so we can have them by our side forever,” she said, making me laugh.
“That’s one fucked up theory I’ve heard in my life so far. Most of your kind can’t easily feel the pull when they’re mated to other supernatural beings, like dragons, mermaids, and sirens, but they can still feel the attraction. When they’re mated to my kind, a lycan or a hybrid, they usually feel the bond and mate pull twice as strong. Your daughter is mated to a werewolf, a beta at that. Do you seriously think she isn’t feeling the mate pull?” I asked seriously.
She turned and walked to a table near the window, grabbing a bottle of whiskey and opening it. The first thing I noticed was blood. It was whiskey mixed with human blood.
“It doesn’t make sense, Ian. If she really is mated to him, then Larson knew who she was to him from years back!” she exclaimed and took a sip from her bottle.
“Exactly. My guess is that he knew who she was to him, yet pretended in front of all of us that he didn’t. Perhaps he was being considerate to her, seeing how she was still a little girl. There was no way you could have allowed them to spend time together,” I answered.
“Damn right! He’s way older than her, and she’s just a baby!” she answered loudly and took another sip.
“Well, technically speaking, he isn’t that old. They’re a few years apart,” I pointed out, then cleared my throat when she hissed at me in warning.
She was really pissed at knowing they were mated.
“Felix, I know how hard and shocking this might be to take in, but that’s how everything has turned out. I suggest you start embracing their relationship as soon as possible. We’ll talk to Larson and advise him to keep his hands off of her until she turns eighteen. So for now, let those two talk it out,” I said calmly.
She walked to her desk and placed the bottle there.
“Ian?” she called softly.
“Yes,” I answered.
She walked over to where I was standing and stood in front of me with a cold expression on her face.
“If that fucker rejects her, mistreats her, or even makes her cry in any way, I will rip his limbs out and bury him behind our house,” she threatened furiously.
I rubbed my forehead and sighed heavily.
“First of all, I don’t think he will do that. The boy has been waiting for her mate for a long time; he should be rejoicing in finding out that she is someone close to him. Secondly, that boy is Neo’s kid, my nephew. Killing him wouldn’t just make us enemies, it would also separate us from each other and destroy the friendship that we have built for years. Felix, would you seriously sacrifice all of us for your daughter?” I asked seriously.
Her expression instantly softened as she took a step back.
“Just so you know, I like Axel better,” she muttered under her breath, making me chuckle.
“You sure know how to fucking piss me off,” I said playfully, then looked at the door when it opened and Chase walked in.
“Ian, you should hear something in the living room,” he said seriously, then walked over to Felix and wrapped his arms around her.
They really acted as they usually did back then. So serious, yet so in love.
“Then excuse me,” I whispered and walked out, heading to the living room.
I was concerned about what was happening to everyone.
Tamara knew a lot about our kind and she understood what mates were. Did I think she would be a great mate for Larson? No. She was still a kid, both in mind and body, and very spoiled and pumped as fuck by Felix. She was her only beloved miracle child, whom she had no idea she would conceive. Everything the girl wanted was given to her. She had no idea what real struggles were. If they were to both accept each other, I was sure Larson would want her to be a part of our pack, and that would be very hard for both her and Felix.
The girl would think we were making her suffer, and Felix would blame me for that.
It was painful, but I seriously hoped for Larson to accept her but not ask her to be a part of our pack until she was mature and old enough to handle everything, say eighteen years old.
Sadly I guess those were just my own thoughts.
