In my hands was a box, that contained dollar bills, with two travel passports bearing fake names with me and Daryl’s photos. Beneath was a letter for me:
“Dear Elaine, You and my boy Daryl have been such a blessing to my life and I thank you for that, as you read this it means you managed to escape. I am so proud of the woman you’ve become despite the trials sent your way. In this box are passports for both of you, I have made all necessary arrangements for your travel. Also, there is a number written here, you can only call when you arrive in the States. She will help you locate Derick. Thank you for the past years, I can gladly say it is one of the best I’ve lived so far.”
I broke down in tears as I read the letter over and over, oh Ana!
This was simply too much, I could not even thank her enough for loving us as her own, and now this!
My tears did not stop falling, the pang I felt knowing she died because of me was indescribable.
I placed the letter on my chest as all the memories we shared replayed, indeed I had lost a good friend. But one thing was sure; my Father would one day pay for her life.
“Passports and tickets please,” the red hair attendant requested, as she inspected our passports my heart raced, hoping we would pass without struggles,
“Complete check, your seats are down by your right,”

It was finally happening, I was going to meet Derick, and I imagined how he’d take the news of Daryl, deep down I prayed he had not found his mate already. Because I love him, I always have.
The terminals were crammed with people waiting with some departing, I carefully strolled past the crowd with my son strapped to my back.
People gave us a weird look, maybe because of our clothing, there was no time to get new clothes also I spent all our money on train and air tickets.
I care less at this point, all that filled my mind was finding Derick in this large country.
It was late when we arrived, and it seemed to be winter here, I wrapped my baby up so he wouldn’t catch a cold.
Unluckily for us, my phone’s battery was dead, and I had to make a call to the person Ana recommended me to.
No one, absolutely no one agreed to assist me with their cell phone to make the call, back in our country it was not like this; it appeared no one cared about the other.
It was after a few hours did I managed to locate a phone call booth by the roadside. Daryl and I were already freezing by this time.
At the third dial, the person finally answered the phone, and a sigh of relief tore through my lips.
“Hello, my name is Elaine, a friend of mine named Ana asked me to reach out to you, she says you can help me locate a certain Mr. Derick, I can give you a description of what you’d like,” I say with a shivering voice,
“No need for a description, it’s Derick Torres.” the person says, surprised it was a female voice. I gulp hard finally hearing his name; Derick Torres was his full name.
“Hail a taxi and come straight to the location I give you, when you arrive ask of the Alpha and Luna of the pack…” she says, and then the line goes off.
Without delay, I hail the nearest taxi heading for Waterfall, which was the location.
Daryl was wrapped up inside layers of clothing preventing the cold from hitting him, he was fast asleep, and I understand our long journey must have taken a toll on the poor child.
“It’s alright baby, we are going to see Daddy now.”
The ride was for hours, I even feared we had gotten lost however the driver kept assuring me it was the right way.
Eventually, when the car came to a stop in front of a massive gate, I paid the bill and got off.
Just then two men dressed in black approached me, by their scent I knew they were shifters.
“Who are you and what business have you here?” one questioned as they scanned me intently.
“I have come seeking an audience with the Alpha and Luna of the pack,”
“What business might that be?”
“Please I really need to speak with them, it is of great importance.”
The silence from them could only mean they were sending messages through the mind link,
After a few procedures of searching me thoroughly, I was granted passage into the pack mansion.
The manor standing in front of me reminded me of home and the life I lived before becoming a Mother.
The guards of the mansion stood in their various positions, my feet moved slowly to the front door before ringing the bell.
My heart raced so fast I could hear my heartbeat. This was it, I was finally going to meet Derick again.
