Liam’s POV
Two trucks filled with my men and Lincoln’s men rode behind us, as we drove to the location where my mate was held captive. I had gotten all the information I needed about their hideout. It was a beach house located outside the state, My assumption was right all along, the first location discovered by Callum was a fake one to lure us away from the actual hideout.
But all thanks to Beatrice’s phone which I switched back at the hotel, we were able to hack her messages and got through to Darren’s. I was not surprised Darren would go to these lengths just to bring me down. The entire time I pondered about only my mate and our pup, how they were faring, and if they were fine.
My wolf had caused a whole mess in my head, growling and whimpering continually for its mate. We were both scared for Macy,
Finally, we arrived at the beach house and the number of Rogues there were numerous, both men and women stood as guards, it was abnormal seeing them harboring together in peace. Rage howled loudly in my head as we arrived, finally, we felt her emotions. It was faint, yet it was a glimmer of hope to hold on to. Macy was exhausted; that was what I from the bond, and a bit scared too.
My men and I jumped out of our vehicles and immediately attacked the Rogues, there was no time for words, just like Greg mentioned, these wolves were stronger and faster yet not up to me or my men, we fought menacingly because our lives depended on it, Greg stood beside me as we fought still in our human forms.
We got closer, and I could perceive the scent of my mate, it was faint, yet my wolf smelt her, Rage pushed for us to follow the smell and go find her which was precisely what I did; however, these wolves attacked me in their numbers which slowed me down, they were attempting to stop me from moving further.
In that instant, her scent began to fade, they were taking her away. Rage growled in my head trying to claw its way to the surface, I fought hard trying to get away from these wolves and my mate, but they kept coming in their numbers.
” Alpha go get Luna, I’ll handle these!”
Greg mind linked as we continued in combat, I understood that they left with her, she was not around the premises anymore. ” Let’s get these dealt with foremost,” I mind linked back to my Beta.
After an hour of combat, we finally killed all of them, only a few were able to escape for their lives.
” Get Callum on the phone and also Miles,” I ordered my Beta who quickly adheres to my request.
My entire body was covered in blood due to the fight, I was totally naked as I shifted to my wolf earlier during the combat, Rage was pissed we missed her, well, he was not the only one angry I was mad too I lost her again when I thought I already had her.
Whoever this person is will definitely get the taste of my wrath, of that beast that I have tried all these years to lock in.
The place was a large property my feet moved on their own until I got to a room, I walked in, and the scent of my mate hit me hard, yet it was very faint. This must be the room where they kept her, I moved to the bed and took a seat. Fuck! The entire sheet smelt of her and I closed my eyes as I imagined her there sleeping on the mattress. I moved to the bathroom and decided to take a shower, I observed as the water washed the blood off my body, and thereafter, I strolled back to the bed.
I lost track of time as I sat there in silence thinking of my mate, a few minutes must have passed when I eventually heard Greg’s voice through the link pulling me out of my thoughts.
” Alpha we have news!”
Quickly I strode out of the building, my men had burnt the dead bodies of the Rogues, and Lincoln stood with my Beta as I approached them.
” I believe you have good news for me,”
” Alpha, Miles tracked them down to Phillea out the coast of the mountains behind Diogra, a warehouse located in that area is where they are,” Greg explains,
” Good let’s move,”
I ordered some of my men to return to Waterfall, and also Lincoln and his men, however, Lincoln insisted on coming with me but after much debate, he eventually returned home with his men. Leaving only my Beta and me plus a few men to go with us.
We got into our vehicles and set on to Phillea which was almost two hours drive, I was ready for anything, this war must end today.
Two hours later, we got to the location, which was an abandoned warehouse that I knew belonged to Darren, fuck him and his betrayal. Some Rogues stood to guard out front, nevertheless, it was easy for my men to take them out, in a minute we burst into the place. It was filled with only a few men.
My men and I attacked them fast without holding back, a wolf jumped at me, and I caught his mouth open before tearing him apart with only my hands. We had the advantage this time, I made sure some of my men stood out back so that what transpired earlier would not repeat.
Just then the scent of my mate hit me and I turned around to see my mate in only her pajamas, fuck! Her legs and hands were exposed when it was cold, she did not wear a bra either. WTF!!
Her eyes were all red and puffy from crying I guess, and her cheek had red fingerprints on them indicating that someone hit her. I growled maliciously at the woman who held her, my feet moved in fast stride toward them; however, I was halted when I caught a glimpse of a shotgun placed on the back of Macy’s head, and a familiar voice spoke out loud.
” Take one more step and I will blow up her head into pieces in front of you,”
Rage howled in my head for its mate as he stares through my eyes too, my mate had her eyes on me as I stood in my track, “Let go of her,” I muttered in a low threatening voice,
” If you make any move I will shoot, Liam, try me,”
The strange lady spoke, I moved my gaze to her face, yet I could not recognize her, but her voice reminded me of someone. There was something else too, she did not smell like a Rogue.
” Who are you, and what do you want? I believe you wanted my attention, now you have it,”
Her laughter roared in the room which pissed me off, how dare this woman laugh at me? Rage too was angry pacing in my head. “What do I want? Well, I want so many things, Liam Torres and one of it is watching you suffer just like you made me suffer.”
I furrowed my brow Confused at her statements, I have never met this woman before, so how on earth did I make her suffer?
” If this is a sick game you’re playing then you better stop now because I have lost my patience with all of you!” I yelled through gritted teeth,
” Liam, how can you say, you do not recognize me? It’s me your love,”
The deranged woman utters with a smile on her face like a lunatic, her physical appearance was new to me, I had never met this woman before. The only reason I am chatting with this woman is because of my pregnant human mate in her arms. Otherwise, I would have agreed to exact on her what my wolf is suggesting. How dare a mere wolf like her threaten me?
” Well, who the fuck are you?”
” It’s me, Powell, your one true love.”
My heart seemed to have stopped as I heard the words that left her lips, “Powell!” my voice came out as a whisper,
” Yea, it’s me in the flesh, Did you miss me,”
” You are dead, what are you doing here?” I asked confused, but she did not look like Powell, the lady here looked nothing alike Powell.
“You left me when I needed you, Liam, you fucked up! And I am so sorry to burst your bubble because I am still alive even though you wished I were dead and long gone,”
” So all along it was you. You are responsible for all the Rogue attacks,”
” It is payback time Liam, for everything you and Waterfall did to me, now you get to have a taste of your medicine!”
” We did nothing wrong to you, Powell you caused everything that happened, I warned you not to catch feelings, It was nobody’s fault that you got obsessed and ended up killing your mate.”
” I was fucking pregnant! Liam, I was pregnant with our pup. That’s why I begged you to meet me, Andy found out about it and was going to kill me, so I had to kill him first. Just to save our child, but at the end of the day, you left me to suffer alone. I lost my baby, and it is all your fault.”
My eyes widened at her expression, Pregnant! “What do you mean?”
” You should have asked these questions back then, Liam, when I fucking needed you. Now I am going to enjoy killing your mate in front of you,”
Powell pushed the gun into Macy’s skull, making my mate shriek in fear, my heart skipped as I watched, “Drop the gun and let’s talk about us, Powell, killing an innocent woman will not sort things,” I tried to coerce her.
My men had killed almost all the Rogues in the room and outside, we had the upper hand I guessed, Greg walked carefully behind Powell without her notice, and we mind-linked each other My Beta moved slowly and immediately hit her, the gun flew out of her hands, and quickly Macy ran in my direction.
Powell and Greg got into a fight while another man with bald hair attacked me, I pushed my mate to the side as we got into a heated fight. I felt her fears through the bond as she watched what unfolded in front of her.
Just then we heard growls of men approaching us, and the door to the warehouse burst open, Darren, and his men sauntered inside the space and ran toward me and my men.
