I helped Macy with her dress when we finished our little fun, my body was now satisfied, the beast calm. I ushered her out of the room and Greg stood by the door keeping watch. He grinned at me the moment we came out, and his reaction made my mate blush hard.
With her hands in mine, we walked back into the ballroom, “Come on, It is time.”
” Time for what?”
” I believe I paid a massive sum of money for a dance, so it’s time you deliver what I paid for,”
I took her to the dance floor as other Alphas did to their Luna too, soon enough the dance floor was filled, and the music began. We danced for about thirty minutes.
” I had no idea you could dance like this,”

I noticed the strange man from earlier watching us closely as we moved together on the dance floor, He still had his mask on, so I could not identify his face, Finally, the dance came to an end we walked back to our table.
” Alpha he is leaving,” Greg mind linked,
” Let him go, did you get any Information?”

” Prepare the cars we are leaving in twenty minutes,”
This stranger conveyed an alarming vibe, both my wolf and I sensed something dubious, so I asked my Beta to run a few tabs on this man, by following him I also had my men infiltrate the CCTV in other to catch even a glimpse of anything.
” We are leaving, come on,” I usher my Mate out of the building, as we reach our front Greg already set the cars, and we simply got in driving off.
It was a long drive back to Waterfall, my wolf was restless, Something just did not feel right nonetheless I shrugged the feeling off, maybe I was tired I thought.
Macy was exhausted and immediately fell asleep in my arms the moment we drove off,
” Alpha we have a situation, the SUV just had a flat tired,”
My brow furrowed at my Beta’s words, it was the one behind us, it probably slowed them down. I don’t understand why, but I had a bad feeling about this.
Immediately the car halted, and my eyes scanned my sleeping mate in my arms, “What just happened?”
” Alpha we just had a breakdown too, the SUV tires are busted,” my men in front mind link,
Greg looked at me through the rear mirror, something was up, our convoy parked on the highway without moving due to flat tires. Macy stirred in my arms, “Are we home yet?”
” Soon baby, we have a tire problem. After fixing that we’ll be home in no time,”
Greg and I came down from the car to check on the tires, my men too came down. It was only us in this quiet part of the road with woodlands beside the road,
Macy came out of the car too, the weather was chilly, so I covered her with my jacket to keep her warm earlier when we left Arinville, which was where the ball was held.
” What’s happening?”
” Come on baby, get in the car it’s cold,”
Macy held on to me refusing to adhere to my words, My men already began fixing the broken tires, it is a good thing we had spare tires.
I was still trying to persuade her to go in the car, when I smelt it, the smell of rotten flesh filled in the air and into our nostrils, making me and my men growl out loud, “Rogues!”
Macy shook with fear at our outburst, Her body trembling as we watch them file out from the woods, some in wolf forms while some still in human forms.
Quickly I haul my mate back into the Limo locking the doors, “Liam,” she called out my name in fear,
” Stay put and close your eyes and ears, no matter what happened do not open them,”
The Rogues filled the empty road, stalking me and my men with vicious growls. Greg stood beside me, his wolf already taking control. We stood a total of fifteen men only plus myself and my Beta. Whereas these Rogues were numerous, We were outnumbered by one to four men, and my human mate was in the car.
Immediately the Rogues attacked, and some of my men burst into their wolf forms, tearing into this vicious-looking set of Rogues. Still, in human form, I ran into their midst fighting, my fist connected hard with the jaw of a wolf that made him hit the ground hard, my eyes had changed to that of my wolf, and my hands partially shifted with my claws out.
Both my Beta and I fought in human form, A few of them tried to get to Macy in the car but not before passing through me, they outnumbered us, but we were faster and stronger,
It was just like the last time when we rescued Macy, these Rogues were stronger than the average Rogue, which was abnormal.
Two Rogue wolves ran fast and landed on top of the car my mate was in, I could feel her fear and panic through the bond, she was petrified. Quickly I darted toward the car, jumped and shifted in midair, Rage knocked both wolves down from the car before tackling one with his paws, his fangs sinking into its neck,
The fight went on blood now filled the once-dry street, I did everything in my power to protect my wailing mate in the car. It seemed they wanted her as all of them tried to get to her,
” Greg get in that car and drive Macy out of here,” I ordered my Beta through the link,
Thankfully he was still in his human form, I covered him, so he could successfully get in the car, the cries of my mate could be heard as Greg opened the car door, her eyes caught mine for a second before Greg starts the engine, and the car drove away with speed.
Macy’s POV
Greg drove at full speed back to Waterfall, my heart was racing. ” No, go back! Go back, we cannot leave him behind,” I cried, tears falling down my eyes,
” I have to get you to safety, Luna, Alpha can protect himself,”
” Please turn the car around, and go back,”
Greg simply ignores my pleas as the car raced down the street, I was a crying mess as tears gushed out of my eyes, I was frightened, what if something bad happens to him? I thought,
Finally, we arrived at Waterfall, maids helped me up to my room, and helped me take a shower, I constantly looked out the window waiting for his return,
Mom and Dad were also worried, after dropping me off, Greg returned to help Liam with a few more men, I sat patiently with Mom in the living room waiting for their arrival. We rushed outside the mansion the moment we heard the sound of the cars approaching, my mind was in a frenzy. I hope he was fine.
My heart seemed to stop when I saw him being assisted out of the car, his entire body was covered in blood, and the left side of his abdomen was torn open. His hand pressed the opening applying pressure to the injury, my feet moved on their own and I ran to him.
” Oh, Liam,” I sobbed, he only groans in pain, as he is aided into the pack house, I watched as the pack doctor makes arrangements to stitch him up. Without giving him anesthesia, the doctor begins to stitch him up,
” Please give him anything to stop the pain at least,” I begged with tears still flowing down my cheeks, Liam stares at me with a smile on his face that is quickly replaced by pain due to the injury,
Mom takes my hands in hers, assuring me that he will be fine, but I was too scared to believe any of those words when his intestine was literally attempting to fall off his abdomen, an average human would definitely not survive wounds like these, how can I be convinced when the doctor is operating on his without anesthesia!
Watching him endure the pain was so tough, my heart felt like it was being squeezed, I have never felt this way in my life, and the fear of losing him was scarier than anything I have ever felt before.
Mom insisted we left the room which I hesitantly agreed to, all I wanted was to be with him, to comfort him if possible kiss away all his pains.
The doctor was eventually done but halted us from seeing him, he explained about the dagger used to cut him open being laced with wolfs bane, Nether of the doctor’s words penetrated my head, the only thing that ran through my mind was going to Liam, until I felt his skin on mine, heard his voice again would I feel alright.
I stayed up all night, waiting for him to wake up, the doctor gave him some kind of drug to make him sleep throughout the night, His injury had healed due to his speedy healing gift as a werewolf.
His skin was so warm against mine, I held his hands in my own, my eyes were red and swollen from crying all night. I lost track of time as I sat there in bed waiting for him to regain consciousness.
” For the first time since my parents died I have never been so terrified of losing someone, yesterday I finally understood just how much you mean to me. I cannot live without you Liam, please I can’t lose you,”
My voice came out as a whisper. I held his hand to my lips before kissing the back of his hand.
” Did you miss me, baby girl?”
My heart skipped with joy the moment I heard his voice, he was awake!
” Liam!” I screamed before launching myself into his arms, I hugged him tight, and I started sobbing once more,
